NEET 2018 Counselling will be conducted in online mode. MCC (Medical Council Committee) conducts the NEET counselling every year. NEET is the national level medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS & BDS courses offered by various government and private medical institutes of India. The NEET 2018 examination is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Candidates can find the details of about NEET 2018 counselling, Counselling procedure, schedule and counselling for 15% & 85% seats.

CBSE conducted the NEET 2018 Exam on 6th May 2018. After the Declaration of NEET Results, the NEET Counselling Process will begin. NEET Online counselling will be conducted by the Directorate General for Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical counselling Committee in the first week of July, 2018. Rank letters will be given to those students who are eligible for admission to 15% All India Quota Seats offered by government colleges. The remaining 85% state quota, state admission authorities will have their own common state counselling.

NEET Counselling Categories and Dates

So, there are basically four categories in which the NEET UG 2018 counselling is divided. To get the detailed information related to all these four categories, candidates need to read below. The four different categories are as follows:

  1. All India Quota Seats(15%)
  2. Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities.
  3. State counselling (85%)
  4. ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation).

1. NEET Counselling for 15% All India Quota

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India will conduct the Counselling for Online Counselling to 15% All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU & AMU. Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the directions of DGHS and Counselling will be stopped soon the seats are exhausted.

NEET Counselling will be conducted by MCC. Information will be available regarding NEET 2018 at website (www.mcc.nic.in). The first step in this online counselling will be registration, choice filling and seat indication. After this choice filling and locking of the choices will take place. The locking of seats will lead to the 1st Round of Seat allotment to candidates in the respective institutions. The result of round 1 will be published and candidates will have to report to their institutes to complete other admission processes.

After this, Round 2 of online counselling will begin. This will also follow the same procedure of fresh registration, choice filling and choice locking. The result of round 2 will be published and candidates will have to report to their respective medical or dental colleges depending on whatever course they’ve applied for.

Candidates who are willing to participate in NEET Counselling Dates 2018 on all India basis need to follow the below given table. The NEET UG is held for admission to MBBS/BDS courses through all over the country. 2. NEET Counselling dates 2018 for Deemed and Central Universities

NEET 2018 Counselling for Deemed and Central Universities – The counselling for admission to dental and medical deemed and central universities is scheduled to start from 13th June 2018. The deemed and central universities also include universities by linguistic and religious minorities. Candidates granted admission to deemed universities in round 2, cannot participate in any other counselling.

The seats that still remain vacant under this quota will be transferred to the State quota.

3. NEET Counselling for 85% State Quota

The NEET counselling conducted for the remaining 85% State quota will be held according to the state counselling schedule. For State quota and other seats falling under the ambit of States, candidates may apply to their domicile states and a merit list as per State rules and based on All India Rank will be prepared by concerned Counselling Authorities. The counselling for Private Medical Colleges will also be conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority.

There are different counsellings held for different institutes and colleges:

  1. NEET 2018 Counselling for AFMC – Counselling for admission to the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, is also conducted by the MCC for MBBS students.
  2. NEET 2018 Counselling for CMC Vellore – Counselling for admission to the Christain Medical College (CMC), vellore is also conducted by the MCC for MBBS students.

4. NEET 2018 Counselling for ESIC

ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) provides the Insured person’s quota to those who have qualified the NEET 2018 exam and met the criteria under this quota. Counselling for ESIC will be based on merit-cum-preference.

Documents Required for NEET Counselling

All the candidates appearing for the NEET 2018 counselling will be required to bring the following documents:

  • NEET 2018 Admit Card
  • NEET 2018 Result
  • Class 10th Certificate for Age Proof
  • Class 12th Certificate
  • Identity Proof
  • 10 Passport Size Photographs
  • Category Certificate Issued by the Competent Authority.

NEET Counselling Procedure

Below candidates can check the Counselling Procedure for NEET 2018:

Registration:

Candidates have to do the registration by login to the official website. On completing the registration process, a unique User ID & Password will be generated and sent to the candidate’s registered email ID and mobile number. With the help of generated user ID and password, the candidate will be able to proceed for further process.

Choice & Locking:

In this step candidates have to fill the choices of course and colleges according their preferences. After this, candidates have to click on ‘Save’ button to lock their filled choices. Without saving the filled choices, the choices will not be considered as locked choices. So, candidates are advised not to forget to lock the preferences.

Seat Allotment Result:

Within a few days of the choice locking, the seat allotment result will be declared by the authority. Candidates can view the allotment result. Candidates will receive a SMS or email regarding allotment of course & college. The seats will be allotted as per the candidate’s filled choices.

Modify and Lock:

The candidates those will not satisfy with the allotted seats can modify the choices. Candidates have to login on the official website with their login credentials and modify the choices. After modification, candidates have to lock the choices again.

Reporting to Allotted College:

When the seats will be allotted to the candidates, they have to report the allotted college to confirm the seat. Candidates have to pay the initial fee to confirm the seat and should complete the admission formalities. In case the candidate will reach the allotted colleges after the given time period, then the seat will be transferred automatically to the next candidate.

NEET 2018 Counselling Second Round:

If any candidate will not satisfy with the allotted seats, they can proceed for the next round of counselling. Candidates those will be allotted seats in the second round of 15% All India Quota counseling are not allowed to vacant the seat.

NEET Admission 2018

After completion of NEET online counselling, candidates have to report the allotted college in the stipulated time. Candidates can report the concerned colleges with the downloaded allotment letter. Candidates need to carry the required documents in original with one set of photocopy. At the time of admission candidates also have to submit the admission fee to confirm the seat. If any candidate will find ineligible in later stage, his admission will be cancelled and his seat will be transferred to the next candidate.

It is important to note that although CBSE conducts the NEET Examination, its role is limited to conducting the exam, declaring the results and providing the All India Rank. The Medical Council Committee is responsible for the conduct of all the counselling and seat allotment procedures.

    The minimum qualifying marks required to participate in the NEET MBBS 2018 AIQ seats for the unreserved category is 50%. Since your score is 35%, so you are not eligible to participate in the AIQ seat counselling.
