- To get into the NITs and IITs candidates have to appear for IIT JEE Main & JEE Advanced Exam
- The candidates who qualify for JEE Mains will be eligible for NITs but not for IITs.
- In order to get admission in IITs, candidates also have to qualify for JEE Advanced.
- IIITs admission takes place on the basis of the JEE Main exam.
- Candidates having the domicile of the state can participate in the state engineering entrance exam. There are various state entrance tests some of them are: OJEE (Odisha), BCECE (Bihar), JKCET ( Jammu & Kashmir), KCET (Karnataka), GUCET (Gujarat), etc. There are universities that conduct their own exams for the selection of the students.
