West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB) will be the authority that will carry out the whole WBJEE Counselling process for the academic admission of 2020 session. The WBJEE Counselling 2020 will begin after the declaration of the WBJEE Result 2020 in the 1st week of May 2020. Candidates, who will qualify in the WBJEE 2020 Exam, will be included in the General Merit List (GMR) which then will be used by the authorities to allot seats through the WBJEE 2020 Counselling. Candidates, in order to participate in the WBJEE Counselling, will have to Register themselves online, fill out choice preferences of college and course and participate in the document verification rounds.

WBJEE Counselling 2020

  • The WBJEE Counselling will be conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB)
  • Candidates will have to register for participation.
  • Post Registration, candidates will have to fill out choice preferences of college/ institutions/ universities.
  • Seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of WBJEE General Merit List and candidate preferences.
  • The initial stages of WBJEE Counselling will be carried out in the online mode and will be referred to as E-Counselling.

WBJEE Counselling 2020 Important Dates

The Counselling for WBJEE 2020 will begin after the release of WBJEE Result 2020. The authorities will begin the process from the 2nd week of July 2020. WBJEE Counselling 2020 – Complete Procedure

Candidates, in order to participate in the WBJEE Counsellng 2020, will have to follow a set of norms and rules. These norms are structured in a series of events that candidates must follow through. Candidates will be called in on the basis of the WBJEE Merit List/ Rank List which is prepared in the form of WBJEE Cutoff 2020. However, it is not certain that the candidate will get seats that he/ she wishes. The whole WBJEE Counselling will include Registration, Choice filling and locking, fee payment, allotment of seats, document verification, and reporting to the allotted college.

Step 1 – Registration

  • First, candidates will have to register themselves for the whole process.
  • Registrations are to be done from the official website of WBJEEB.
  • Go to the official website of WBJEEB, (A direct link will be updated here as well)
  • Candidates will have to locate the “New Registration” option
  • There will be an option of registering through JEE Main 2020 as well.
  • Enter in the Application/ Registration Number and Password of the WBJEE 2020 Exam.
  • For candidates, logging in with the JEE Main 2020, he/ she will have to enter in JEE Main Application Form Number/ Roll Number and Date of Birth.
  • Enter by clicking on submit button.

Step 2 – Registration Fee Payment

Candidates, at this point, will have to make the registration fee payment through the payment gateways. Candidates can pay online via Debit Card or Credit Card or Net Banking. There will also be the provision of making the application fee payment through e-challan which is payable at Allahabad Bank. The amount to be paid will be about INR 500, which is the WBJEE Counselling 2020 Registration Fee amount. After making the payment, candidates will have to note down the identity number and password which will be generated therefrom.

Step 3 – Choice Filling and Locking

At this point, candidates will have to choose their preferred choice of institution or college or university and course. There is no limit restriction for choice preference. However, candidate will have to keep them in the order of choice, i.e. top preference first and so on. Also, this provision is available is only available once and hence will be changed afterwards. Candidates, thus, need to be cautious while doing so.

Step 4: Seat allotment

The authorities, i.e. West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB) will analyze the choice preference entered by the candidates, and on the basis of the WBJEE Cut off 2020, will make seat allotments to the candidates. The Merit List based seat allotment will reflect the candidates who have the highest rank as he/ she will have the provision of getting into the college/ Institution/ University of choice. Candidates can, however, choose to stay with the allotted college or move on to the next round hoping to get a better deal.

Step 5: Document Verification

Candidates who are satisfied with their choices will have to report to the allotted college physically along with a set of documents that he/ she will have to get verified. The authorities will inspect the documents and only after a thorough inspection, will they let the candidate continue with the admission proceeding. Candidates, who fail to report to the allotted college or fail to submit valid document, will be liable for rejection.

  • Class 12th mark sheet
  • Category certificate
  • WBJEE 2020 seat allotment letter

Step 6: Reporting at the Allotted Institute

After the WBJEE e-counselling has been conducted, candidates will be required to report to the allotted institute with the necessary documents. If the candidates are satisfied with the seats allotted, they must confirm their admission by carrying a set of both original as well copy of documents and report to the institute.
