West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) conducted the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam on 2nd February 2020. Earlier the application form was released on 18th October 2019. The application correction procedure is also over for the participating candidates. Eligible and willing candidates must be aware of the WBJEEE 2020 updates. This is so that they don’t miss any update on examination. The application process involved Registration, Filling in the Application Details, Uploading images and making the application fee payment. Furthermore, there was a one-time Application Form correction facility for the candidates to make relevant changes in the information entered in the application form. How To Apply For WBJEE 2020?
The students could fill Application Form for WBJEE 2020 online from the official website of WBJEEB. Moreover, candidates had to Register from the official website and create a candidate account. After creating a login ID, candidates had to enter in further application form details. Later, candidates had to upload images and make the application fee payment. Print the confirmation page.
The detailed procedure to submit the WBJEE Application Form 2020 is as given below.
Step 1 – Registration
Enter the WBJEEE online site and look for the link to apply and click on it. It will appear as shown in the image below. For new candidates, they must click on ” Apply for the Online Registration”
Once enter into the registration part, candidates need to fill the Personal details, contact details, choose a password and enter the security pin.
- Click on the ” submit” bottom and the application number will be generated and will appear on the screen. Also, SMS/ E-mail will be sent to the candidate.
Step 2 – Updating the Application Form
After making the registration, the candidate needs to sign in to fill the application form. After signing in candidates have to enter the details such as :
- Personal Details
- Academic details
- The candidate needs to choose any three zones for appearing in the examination in the order of preference.
Step 3- Uploading Images
Upload scanned images of recent color photograph and signature all in one go.

Step 4 – Application Payment
- After uploading of images Board will direct the candidates to the fee-payment step.
- Pay the exam fees by Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card only.
- Application fee for WBJEE 2020 is INR 700 (Rupees five hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges as applicable for general candidates and Rs 500 for reserved category.
- The fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.
Step 5 – Confirmation Page
On successful completion of all the above steps, the candidate shall automatically be directed to the option for downloading the ‘Confirmation Page’ which means that the application is complete. Confirmation Page means the completed Application.
WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2020
Candidates should make sure that they clear all the eligibility criteria laid down by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board. It is to be noted that WBJEEB does neither verify the information provided by any candidate during online application nor verify any certificate of date of birth, domicile, income, reservation category, academic qualification, etc. for deciding the eligibility of the candidate. Also, normally there is no scope of changing/correcting any information after the last date of online application.
Candidates must make sure that they clear the WBJEE Eligibility Criteria. They are as given below.
Citizenship
Applicant must be a citizen of India
Age Restriction
The lower age limit is 17. There is no upper age limit in appearing in the WBJEE 2020.
For admission to Engineering courses
- Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics.
- Also, the candidate must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
- Also, the candidate must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.
Degree Course In Marine Engineering
- Must have clear the 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subject. University takes the aggregate of 60% into account with individual pass marks (both in theory and practical where ever applicable) in each of the said subjects.
- Minimum of 50% marks in English as the subject in either in ‘10’ standard or in ‘10+2’ standard.
Five Year Degree Course in Architecture
- Must have clear the 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination.
- Candidate must also qualify either in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi or in Paper 2 of JEE Mains
Important Instructions For WBJEE 2020 Application Form
- Submit Application Form for WBJEE 2020 online. Furthermore, there was no printed application form available.
- WBJEE Admit Card 2020 was generated after complete application submission.
- Ensure filling the genuine application form available on the official website.
- It was essential to have a mobile number and a unique email ID.
- The registered mobile number and email ID received all future communications.
- One could not change the Basic Registration details. These included name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, and date of birth, and so on.
- Upload the scanned images to recent passport size photograph and signature in sync with the official guidelines.
- Keep copies of the confirmation page until the whole admission procedure is complete.
- All the verification work is done during counselling and subsequent admission and registration with the university. If at any stage after examination it is found on scrutiny that the applicant is otherwise ineligible, his/ her candidature shall be treated as cancelled even if he/ she secured a Merit Rank in the WBJEE 2020 and or a seat has been allotted to the candidate.
