WB MBBS Admission 2020 – Highlights
- The Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW) Kolkata, West Bengal is the conducting body for West Bengal NEET.
- Admission will take place on the basis of NEET Scores.
- There will be around 2700 seats offered for MBBS and 546 for BDS in around 21 government and private medical and dental colleges/institutes/universities.
- Department of Health and Family Welfare will be responsible for the admissions for about 85% of total applicants. The rest 15% will be taken care of by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
- Programmes offered include Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).

West Bengal MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria is the important factor in West Bengal NEET Admission. Candidates can check the eligibility condition below –
- The Nationality of the candidate must be Indian. However, OCI candidates can also apply.
- The candidate must be a resident of West Bengal state. Candidates who are not a domicile of West Bengal are only eligible for private management quota.
- The minimum age of the candidate must be 17 years as on 31st December 2020. However, age relaxation is applicable for the reserved category candidates.
- Candidates must have qualified the NEET 2020 Exam and must have passed 10+2 from State Board or Equivalent.

The Department of Health and Family Welfare will release the West Bengal NEET Merit List in the fourth week of June 2020. West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2020
The West Bengal MBBS and BDS Counselling will start soon after the release of the Merit List. Candidates whose name is on the merit list will be eligible for the counselling. The counselling will start in the first week of July 2020. The mode of the counselling is online. Candidates applying for the West Bengal MBBS Admission 2020, have to select their preferences of colleges. Candidates will be notified regarding the counseling time and venue via mail by the counseling conducting body. Students will have to reach on time at said venue with all the relevant documents.
