Stages of West Bengal NEET Counselling
The counselling procedure of West Bengal comprises of the following stages-
- Application form for Pre-Counselling and Online Fee Payment.
- Publication of Seat Matrix- Round I
- Registration, Choice Filling, and Locking of Choices.
- Seat Allotment Process (Round-I)
- Result Publication (Round-I)
- Reporting for admission at the Allotted Institution – Round 1
The process repeats the same for Round II and III as well.
Eligibility Criteria for West Bengal MBBS Counselling (Quota-Wise)
To attend the counselling, the students must meet certain criteria. However, the criteria are different for each category.
State Quota
Candidates who are willing to participate in the WB State Quota category must meet the following criteria-
- Either student or his/her parents must be domiciled in the State of West Bengal. Such candidates have to download the domicile certificate proforma from the counselling website- www.wbmcc.in. Fill in the form and get it signed and stamped by the appropriate authority.
- Once, the seat is allotted, the candidate has to produce the certificate before the verifying authority of the respective college.
Management Quota
- Candidates who have scored 50 percentile cutoff and belong to unreserved or Economically weaker section.
- UR PWD/EWS PWD with a cutoff percentile of 45% percentile.
- ST/SC/OBC/OBC A/OBC B/SC PWD/ST PWD/OBC PWD/OBC A PWD/OBC B PWD with a cutoff percentile of 45%.
- Candidates who are not domiciled in the State of West Bengal and not opting for (NRI Quota) are eligible for Management Quota in Private Medical/Dental and AYUSH colleges in West Bengal.
- Also, they are eligible for AYUSH Private College AIQ seats in West Bengal. A domicile certificate is required for such candidates. However, they have to produce other essential documents.
- Hence, the allotment in Management Quota is done based on the combined merit rank of NEET-UG. There is no caste or PWD reservation in the category.
NRI Quota
- Candidates who have scored 50 percentile cutoff and belong to unreserved or Economically weaker section.
- UR PWD/EWS PWD with a cutoff percentile of 45% percentile.
- ST/SC/OBC/OBC A/OBC B/SC PWD/ST PWD/OBC PWD/OBC A PWD/OBC B PWD with a cutoff percentile of 45%.
- Candidates who opt for the NRI quota cannot opt for the State Quota/ Management Quota/AIQ quota (some Private AYUSH colleges of WB).
West Bengal MBBS and BDS Counselling Process
West Bengal Medical and Dental Admission Counselling conduct the counselling rounds in online mode. However, candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria and must qualify for NEET 2025. So, here is the step-by-step process to apply for WB NEET MBBS and BDS Counselling.
How to Apply for WB MBBS/ BDS Admission Counselling?
Step 1: Register and Login
- The West Bengal MBBS Application form is released after the NEET result declaration.
- Register yourself by submitting personal and academic details and uploading documents that are mentioned in the form. Specifications for uploading images are provided later.
- Recheck all the details and submit the information.
Step 2: Choice Filling and Choice Locking
- Candidate must give their preferences of desired colleges in the order of choice.
- Choice filling and locking can be done by logging in to the registered ID and selecting the choices therein.
- Candidates can choose as many colleges as he wishes.
- Candidates without the domicile certificate shall only be able to choose private colleges under the management quota.
- Choices are to locked at the end and candidates shall not be able to make changes.
Step 3: Seat Allotment
Candidates have to download the West Bengal MBBS Counselling Call letter or WB MBBS Seat Allotment Letter from the official website and reach the said venue with valid documents. The seat allotment is done on the basis of their NEET Score/ Rank and seat and Merit List. Top candidates get preferences over the lower-ranked candidates.
West Bengal NEET Counselling Fees
- Candidates who are opting for the counselling procedure have to pay the counselling fees. The payment can be done if he/she is eligible for the counselling round.
- The counselling fees for unreserved candidates is Rs 2000/- and Rs 1500/- for reserved category candidates.
- Candidates can make the payment online using a credit/debit card/net banking only.
- The WB MBBS/BDS counselling fees are non-refundable.
Once, the fee payment is done, the candidate will receive a transaction ID. Online Acknowledgement receipt will be generated soon after the submission of the information and fee payment. The receipt is required at the time of document verification.

- Domicile certificate of West Bengal
- NEET Result Copy
- NEET Admit Card
- Counselling letter of West Bengal MBBS/ BDS Admission
- Class XII mark sheet and passing certificate.
- Class X mark sheet and passing certificate
- Age Proof (Birth Certificate/ Class 10 admit card).
- ID Proof such as a copy of Voter card/ Aadhar card/ Passport.
- Caste Certificate and category certificate (if applicable).
- Copy of West Bengal MBBS Fee transaction slip and Application form.
Step 4: Admission Confirmation
- Candidates have to confirm their admissions before the last date by reporting to the allotted college with valid documents and admission fees.

- Acknowledgement slip generated online after successful enrollment in pre-counselling.
- Domicile Certificate from e-district website
- Voter Card/Aadhaar card/Passport of parents in case the domicile certificate of a parent is given showing the address of West Bengal. (any two IDs out of three).
- Caste certificate if applicable.
- NEET 2025 UG Admit Card
- Rank Card of NEET 2025
- PWD certificate issued from IPGMER Kolkata as applicable.
- Payment receipt of the counselling fees.
- Age proof (should be 17 years as of 31st December 2025)
