The Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala is responsible for conducting Kerala MBBS Counselling 2020. The counselling process will start soon after the declaration of the Kerala MBBS Merit List. The mode of the counselling is done online. Hence, candidates whose names appear on the KEAM NEET Merit List will be eligible for the counselling process. There will be two to three rounds of counselling depending on the availability of the seats. The Kerala MBBS also conducts a trial mock counselling round which guides the candidates to participate in the KEAM NEET Counselling. In the counselling process, candidates have to register themselves and enter their course and college preferences. Later, the authority based on their NEET Scores will publish their names on the Kerala MBBS Seat Allotment List.

KEAM Kerala MBBS Counselling Procedure (Step-Wise)

Counselling takes place online, which means that the candidate has to register themselves. So, here is the step-wise method to apply for the KEAM NEET Counselling.

Step I – Login

Visit the Official Website of CEE, Kerala. Click on the Candidate Login Portal Link. Log in using the credentials (Application Number and Password).

Step-II Option for Registration Page

In this step, candidates are advised to create a unique password. Click on the “Option Registration” Link and create. It is advised to change the Password frequently and keep it safe.

Step-III Choice Filling and Locking Process

In this section, you can see a list of Medical and Dental Colleges. These colleges are denoted by a two-letter code. You can also see the number of seats available in the particular institute. Select the choice of college based on your priority. Click on the “Save” option after every selection. The options will be locked automatically once the stipulated time is over. Candidates are advised to rearrange or modify their choices before the closing date. The choices will be locked automatically once the date is over.

The CEE Kerala will also conduct a trial session for the counselling practice, which will provide an idea about how to add the college preferences according to their NEET 2020 Scores. The Kerala MBBS Trial Counselling Link will be available a few days before the first round counselling session.

Step-IV Kerala MBBS Seat Allotment Process

Once the choices are filled and locked, the authority will start the process of the seat allotment. Hence, on the basis of the Kerala MBBS State Merit Rank, NEET Scores, Preference of Choices, Seat Availability, reservation, etc. admission will be granted.

Step-V KEAM Kerala MBBS/BDS/AYUSH Counselling Result

The Counselling Result is nothing but the seat allotment result. So, once the seat allotment process is completed, the CEE Kerala will declare the result. The Kerala MBBS Seat Allotment Result will be announced for each round separately. Since it will be available in pdf format, therefore, it can be downloaded easily.

Step-VI Reporting the Allotted College

Candidates who will be allotted seats will have to report the allotted college along with the documents. However, you must make sure that you reach the center before the stipulated time and date. Also, they must remit the annual fees to join the allotted college in online mode using the prescribed mode.

List of Documents to Carry in KEAM NEET Counselling

Candidates have to carry the following documents to the allotted center.

  • Residence Certificate
  • Class 10th Passing Certificate and Marksheet
  • Class 12th Passing Certificate and Marksheet (self-attested)
  • NCL Certificate (SEBC/OEC Reservation)
  • Community Certificate (for SC/ST Aspirants)
  • Original Certificates for claiming reservation
  • Self-Attested Medical Certificate (PH Candidates)

 Kerala MBBS Counselling Rounds 2020

There will be a total of Four Round of Counselling for admission in Kerala MBBS/BDS Colleges. The Counselling Rounds are as follows-

Trial Allotment Counselling Round

The Authorities will conduct a Trial Allotment Counselling Result Session before the scheduled time of choice locking is over. This session will give an idea about the chances of getting the colleges and courses according to the NEET Scores and your preferences. Candidates must note that these are not the exact result that is displayed but this will help the candidates to understand the preferences according to their score. The First Round of Counselling will be held in June 2020.

First Round of Counselling

The First Round of Counselling will take place in June 2020. The Online Option Entry for Counselling can be done by logging in using the Application Number and Password in the Candidate Portal. Candidates who will be allotted a seat in Kerala NEET MBBS Admission Counselling will have to report the allotted college and pay the admission fees within the stipulated time period. If the admission procedure is not done within the given period of time, then the existing allotment will be lost.

Second Round of Counselling

If you have not been allotted any seat in the first round, then you can appear in the second round of counseling. The procedure for Kerala MBBS Second Round Counselling is also the same. Candidates have to log in to the Candidate Login Portal and select the college preferences and report the college after a seat is allotted. To complete the admission procedure, candidates have to pay the application fees. The Second Round of Counselling is to be held in July 2020.

Mop-Up Round of Counselling

The Kerala MBBS/BDS Mop-Up Round Counselling is conducted if the seats are left vacant after the first and second round of counselling. The Mop-Up Round is expected to be held in August/September 2020.

Reasons for Conducting Kerala Mop-Up MBBS/BDS Counselling

The Mop-Up Round is basically done when all the counselling rounds are completed. It is for filling all the vacant seats that have been left out after the rounds. Sometimes, the students leave their seats due to some reasons and the seats become vacant. The KEAM NEET Mop-Up Round Counselling will take place online. The wait-listed candidate will be allotted seats based on their NEET Scores and availability of seats.

The Kerala MBBS and BDS Counselling 2020 will be held Online on KEAM Portal through CEE. Candidates whose name is shortlisted on the merit list will be able to attend the counselling round. The candidates who did not get a seat in the First and Second Round can attend the Mop-Up Round which is conducted if any seats have remained vacant.
