KCET Exam Pattern 2020: Karnataka Examinations Authority prescribes the KCET exam pattern 2020 every year. Although there are very few chances that the KCET 2020 exam pattern may change, a candidate should make sure to recheck the exam pattern every year. The KCET exam pattern gives the candidates information about the number of questions, number of sections, the marking scheme etc. KCET stands for Karnataka Common Entrance Test conducted by KEA every year. Every detail provided in KCET Exam pattern is important for the students to check. Candidates should make a note that there will be three papers in KCET 2020: For Physics & Chemistry, For mathematics and Biology and the last paper will be the Kannada Language Test.

About KCET Exam Pattern 2020

  • Candidates from Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga have to take the KCET 2020 Kannada Language test.
  • All the three papers will be held on different dates in the offline mode (pen and paper mode).
  • There is no negative marking, therefore candidates must attempt all the questions to score the maximum marks.

  • The exam will be conducted in the offline pen and paper-based mode.
  • Candidates will be given 1 hour 20 minutes to complete each paper: KCET 2020 paper-1 for Mathematics/Biology and paper-2 for Chemistry and Physics).
  • There will be a total of 180 questions60 from Physics, 60 from Chemistry and 60 from Mathematics.
  • KCET 2020 question paper will consist of objective type questions.
  • The language of the question paper will be English or Kannada.
  • One mark will be awarded for each correct answer without any provision of marking scheme.

KCET Exam Pattern 2020 Highlights

The KCET 2020 will be held on TWO days in FOUR different sessions for four subjects. On the first day, a test will be conducted for Biology and Mathematics subjects in two sessions and on the next day test will be conducted for Physics and Chemistry subjects in two sessions as per the date and time notified. Each paper /subject will be conducted for 60 marks each with a duration of 80 minutes.

  • Each question paper will be of Multiple Choice Questions (Objective) type. The question paper in each subject will be in 16 different versions and each question will have four different options.
  • Each question will carry ONE mark.
  • The candidate is expected to attempt all the questions, in order to obtain maximum marks. In other words, there is no choice of questions.
  • There will be no negative evaluation with regard to wrong/incorrect answers but marks will not be awarded in respect of multiple answers for the same question.
  • The version code of the question paper will be boldly printed on facing sheet of the question paper.
  • The version code of the question papers given to a student may be different OR may be the same for different sessions.

About Kannada Language Test

The Kannada Language Test is tested to check the efficiency of the candidate in the Kannada Language. All candidates who are taking the test should obtain a minimum of 12 marks out of 50. The exam will be conducted in Bangalore only.

  1. Make a time table on a daily basis for proper time management of the day.
  2. Check only the correct KCET 2020 syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  3. Practice previous years question papers to familiarize yourself with the type of questions and exam pattern of the exam.
  4. Make notes and create formula book made up of diagrammatic representations, formulas, etc.
  5. Prioritise your study according to the difficulty level of topics.
