NTA is the conducting body of the JEE Main 2021. The exam of the JEE Main 2021 will take place in two sessions i.e January & April. Since the exam is conducted in two sessions, the display of the result will be accordingly in an online mode. NTA will release the result for B.E./B.Tech (Paper 1) & B.Arch & B.Planning (Paper 2 &3). In the January session, the NTA scores will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate. This is not the final result of the JEE Main 2021. After the commencement of the JEE Main 2021 April exam, the final result will be out. Thus for the Final JEE Main result 2021, the best of the two results will be considered for the rank.  But before the final result, there will be the result as per the session.

Check Eligibility For NTA JEE Main Exam

Candidates can view their JEE Main Scorecard by visiting the official site or link given in the article (seek at the time of the event). Thus to know their JEE Main Percentile & Score in the exam, candidates have to enter their Application Number and Password/Date of Birth.  To determine the JEE Main results/merit list 2021, the process of normalization will be considered. How To Calculate The JEE Main 2021 Score?

In order to calculate the marks, the candidates have to consider the JEE Main 2021 marking pattern. However, to prepare the scorecard of the candidates, NTA considers the:

  • Marking scheme of JEE Main and
  • The normalization method.

B) Normalization Method For Preparing JEE Main Result

There are various steps involved in it but the overall normalization procedure takes into account through this formula.

NTA JEE Normalization

Check the steps to understand the normalization procedure for JEE Main Merit List 2021

Step 1: Division as per the session

Divison of the candidates as per the session is there so that there should be a fair decision as per the difficulty level of the paper.

Step 2: Result As Per The Each Session

For this mainly two steps are there such as preparation of the

  • Raw Scores: Outline is set for the marks scored by the candidates. NTA never discloses the raw score but consider it while setting the final answer key. Simple logic flows in this context is that:
4 mark for each correct answer and  1 mark deduction for an incorrect response.

  • Percentiles Scores separately for each of the three subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) and the total score.

JEE Main Total Percentile

Step 3: Compilation of NTA score and preparation of overall merit/rank list

NTA will merge the Total Raw Score of all the sessions as given in step 1 and have the NTA scores. After this, the compilation of result and preparation of overall JEE Main 2021 Merit List / Ranking is there.

Note: Percentile of all sessions will be calculated separately to determine the total Raw Score and Raw Scores in three subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Final JEE Main 2021 Result

After the commencement of the JEE Main 2021 April session, NTA will declare the final list of the JEE Main 2021. Combined marks of both the session (January & April) and the final result will be displayed in April 2021. NTA will consider the best of two sessions to prepare the final JEE Main 2021 result. If the student attempts only one session then for the final result, only that session will be considered for him/her.

How The JEE Main 2021 Tie-Breaking Be Resolve?

JEE Main is the biggest engineering exam at the national level. Many times two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the exam. Total NTA Score in JEE(Main)-2021, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined in the following order:

a. ) Rank list for admission to B.E. /B. Tech. (in institutions other than IITs):

  • Candidate scoring high marks in Mathematics
  • If the tie still persists, the candidates having more NTA score in Physics will be taken
  • Now again the tie is there then candidates NTA score in Chemistry is taken into account.
  • Still, the tie is there then candidates with less proportion of negative responses will be considered.
  • Continuing in the process, Candidates older in age will be preferred over the younger one.

b). Rank list for admission to B.Arch (in institutions other than IITs):

  • Candidate scoring high marks in Mathematics
  • If the tie still persists, the candidates having more NTA score in the Aptitude Test will be taken
  • Now again the tie is there then candidates NTA score in Drawing Test is taken into account.
  • Still, the tie is there then candidates with less proportion of negative responses will be considered.
  • Continuing in the process, Candidates older in age will be preferred over the younger one.

c). Rank list for admission to B.Planning (in institutions other than IITs):

  • Candidate scoring high marks in Mathematics
  • If the tie still persists, the candidates having more NTA score in the Aptitude Test will be taken
  • Now again the tie is there then candidates NTA score in planning based questions is taken into account.
  • Still, the tie is there then candidates with less proportion of negative responses will be considered.
  • Continuing in the process, Candidates older in age will be preferred over the younger one.

Note: If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given the same rank.

JEE Main Cut Off 2021

In order to take part in the admission procedure, cut off mark is the minimum qualifying marks which the candidates have to score. Cut Off will be released after the release of the JEE Main result. JEE Main 2021 cut off will be out as per the category. Only the candidates who will clear the cut off will be eligible for the JEE Advanced exam.  After the JEE Main cut off 2021, JoSAA will release the admission cut off for NITs, IIITs, and GFITs.
