Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani will be conducting the Computer Based Online Test for Admission to Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS for the academic admission of 2020 session. The proceedings are expected to start from the month of January 2020 and candidates who are interested in pursuing their under graduation from one of the BITS campuses can apply till the month of March 2020. Commonly known as BITSAT 2020, successfully enrolling candidates will be able to download their BITSAT Admit Card from April 2020. BITSAT Eligibility Criteria
There are many factors that determine the BITSAT Eligibility Criteria for appearing in any examination. The conditions that BITSAT Eligibility is based includes Age of the student, Qualifications of the student, Subjects that the student has opted in his last qualifying examination and marks secured by the student. Based on these criterions, BITS Pilani decides which candidates are eligible to apply and appear in the BITSAT Examinations.

If a candidate has chosen Biology instead of Mathematics, then he/ she must have scored an aggregate of 75% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together.

BITSAT Application Form 2020
All candidates who want to appear in BITSAT 2020 and are interested in admission will be required to submit the application form with 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses, starting from 1st week of January 2020. Candidates will have the provision of making their application submissions till March 2020.
Registration – Candidates will have to visit the official website and click on the ‘New Registration’ link. They will ask to submit a few personal details including their name and email Id.
Updating the Application Form – Here the candidate will have to update the BITSAT application form 2020 with personal and academic details.
Updating required images – Candidates will have to upload their respective scanned images of recent size passport size photograph and signature.
- Scanned image of recent passport size photograph should be in JPEG/ JPG format and the size should be between 4kb and 50kb.
- Scanned image of candidate signature should be in JPEG/ JPG format and the size should be between 1kb and 30kb.
Application Fee Payment – For Male candidates, the amount to be paid will be INR 3150. For Female candidates, the amount to be paid will be INR 2650. For candidates opting for Dubai Centre, the amount will be USD 70.
BITSAT 2020 Slot Booking
BITSAT Slot Booking 2020 will begin from the 4th week of March 2020. Candidates are required to select their slots for appearing in the BITSAT 2020 Examination. The slot Booking process of BITSAT 2020 involves giving preferences for exam slots, i.e. date and time and exam centre. The selected preferences will be analyzed by the examining body and candidates will be given the exam venue, date, and time accordingly. The slot Booking will begin after the application submission and application form will be released in the month of January 2020. Candidates can submit their application form till 3rd week of March 2020.
BITSAT Admit Card 2020
BITSAT Admit Card will be available online in the official website of BITS Pilani. Candidates will have to keep checking the official website for notifications regarding the BITSAT Admit Card which will, provisionally, be available by the 2nd week of April 2019.
BITSAT 2020 hall ticket will be available to successfully enrolled candidates. It means that the students who have applied for BITSAT and submitted the BITSAT Application Form within the given time frame and successfully made fee payment along with acknowledging slip will be entitled to receive the BITSAT hall ticket 2020.
- Candidates can simply follow the steps to download admit card.
- Go to the BITSAT official website
- Login with User name and Password enter the security code.
- Click on the link that says “Download the admit card”
- Check all the details entered and make sure they are correct.
- Note down all the important details such as Roll Number, Date and Time, Venue of Examination Centre.
- Take out a print and preserve the admit card until the whole admission process is over.
BITSAT 2020 Exam Pattern
BITSAT 2020 will be held online i.e. computer-based standardized test. Candidates who are going to be appearing in the BITSAT can expect two different papers.
- Physics, Chemistry, English and Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics.
- Physics, Chemistry, English and Logical Reasoning, and Biology.
Candidates can choose to appear in either of the exams, given they clear the eligibility criteria. The BITSAT 2020 Exam Pattern should help candidates in planning their BITSAT 2020 Exam Preparation. Candidates will only benefit from the awareness of the BITSAT Exam Pattern 2020. Given below are points pertaining to the exam pattern of BITSAT.
- Question Paper will contain 150 questions, which will be worth a total of 450 marks.
- Each question will have 4 options given corresponding to it. Candidates will have to select one out of the rest.
- The whole duration of the exam will be of 3 hours.
- Questions will be objective type only.
- Questions will ask from 4 different sections, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, English & Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics/ Biology.
- Physics and Chemistry sections will comprise of 80 questions, i.e. 40 each.
- Logical Reasoning & English will cover 25 questions, with 10 questions from reasoning and 15 questions from English.
- Mathematics/ Biology section will cover the remaining 45 questions.
- Each correct answer will carry an addition of 3 marks.
- Each wrong answer will cost a negative 1 mark.
- If any question is left unanswered, then no marks will be either added or deducted.
The questions are so designed that a good student will be able to answer 150 questions in 180 minutes. The extra questions (a maximum of 12) will give a chance to highly meritorious candidates to score higher. However, candidates should keep in mind the fact that there is negative marking for wrong answers and any attempt to answer the questions by pure guessing of the answers is not likely to have an advantage but may result in a reduction in the total score.
BITSAT 2020 Syllabus (Subject Wise)
Physics Syllabus of BITSAT will include topics from Units & Measurement, Kinematics, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Impulse and Momentum, Work and Energy, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Oscillations, Waves, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effect of Current, Electromagnetic Induction, Optics, Modern Physics, and Electronic Devices.
Chemistry Syllabus: BITSAT will include States of Matter, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, Thermodynamics, Physical and Chemical Equilibria, Electro-chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, Hydrogen and s-block elements, p- d- and f-block elements, Principles of Organic Chemistry and Hydrocarbons, Stereochemistry, Organic Compounds with Functional Groups Containing Oxygen and Nitrogen, Biological , Industrial and Environmental Chemistry and Theoretical Principles of Experimental Chemistry.
English Proficiency Syllabus: BITSAT will include topics from Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and Composition.
Logical Reasoning Syllabus: BITSAT will include topics from Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Mathematics Syllabus: BITSAT will include topics from Algebra, Trigonometry, Two-dimensional Coordinate Geometry, Three-dimensional Coordinate Geometry, Differential calculus, Integral calculus, Ordinary Differential Equations, Probability, Vectors, Statistics, Linear Programming, and Mathematical Modelling.
Biology Syllabus: BITSAT will include topics from Diversity in Living World, Cell: The Unit of Life; Structure and Function, Genetics and Evolution, Structure and Function – Plants, Structure and Function – Animals, Reproduction, Growth and Movement in Plants, Reproduction and Development in Humans, Ecology and Environment, Biology and Human Welfare and Biotechnology and its Applications.
BITSAT Score Report
The computer will announce the result to the candidate in terms of the number of total correct answers and wrong answers, with the score, at the completion of the test. The BITSAT Test Score will be available for the candidate within 24 hours. The required number of prints can be taken for future reference and usage. There will not be any provision of retest for available for the candidate.
BITSAT 2020 Merit List
The BITSAT Merit position of eligible candidates will prepare on the basis of their scores in BITSAT 2020. There will be two separate merit lists prepared for admission, i.e. one for all the programmes except the B. Pharm. and the other only for B.Pharm. The cases of bracketing, if any, will be dealt with as described below: When the score of two candidates are the same, first their scores obtained in Mathematics/ Biology (For B. Pharm) in BITSAT 2020 will be considered for separating them. If the tie still exists, then their scores in Physics in BITSAT 2020 will be considered for separating them. A further tie is eliminated using their scores in Chemistry. Finally, their PCM/ PCB (for B. Pharm) total marks in the 12th examination will be considered for their separation.
BITSAT Counselling and Seat Allotment 2020
BITS Pilani will conduct the BITSAT Seat Allotment through Counselling, and candidates will have to get registered for the counselling sessions. The BITSAT Counselling will take place in the form of Iterations and candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of the BITSAT 2020 Merit List for Admissions. Candidates will have to get their documents verified and eligibility factors checked before they are offered the seats. Candidates will be required to select the preferences and choice of Institute and course. Confirming admission requires candidates to reach to the allotted institution and make the admission payment.
