JEE Main Exam Date 2020: In the midst of the corona outbreak, the JEE Main Exam has been postponed. The news dates have been announced by the HRD Minister on 3rd July  The NTA will be conducting the exam for engineering aspirants who want admission in IIITs, CFTIs, and NITs through JEE Main. There will be two sessions of the JEE Main; the first one in the month of January 2020 which is over and then again in April 2020. JEE Main 2020 will be conducted in online computer-based mode only. JEE Main 2020 Slots (Shift) Timings

JEE Main 2020 slots for Paper I and Paper II are available in this section. For the April session, Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) will be conducted in Computer-based mode from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. However, the JEE Mains exam date will be updated later in the above section.

The JEE Main Paper-II (B. Arch/ B. Plan) will be conducted in Computer-based mode, however, the drawing test of paper II will be held in offline, pen and paper-based mode on a drawing sheet. Paper 2 will be held in only 1 shift.

JEE Main Exam Day Instructions

  1. Candidates are advised to report at the centre on exam date of JEE Main 2020 well in time i.e. before 2 hours of commencement of the examination.
  2. A Candidate will not be permitted to enter in the Examination Center after 8.30 a.m. in First Shift and after 1.30 p.m. in Second Shift.
  3. Candidates are also advised to report at the Examination Hall/Room in the Examination Centre by 9.00 a.m. in First Shift and by 2.00 p.m. in Second Shift.
  4. In case a candidate, by furnishing the false information, appears in more than one shifts/dates, his candidature will be cancelled and his result will not be declared. Check JEE Main Chapter Wise Weightage

JEE Main 2020 Events

Events Before NTA JEE Main 2020

  1. JEE Main 2020 Application Form – For the January exam session, the registration has started on 3rd September 2019. Candidates must fill and submit the form with correct details.
  2. JEE Main 2020 Slot Booking -There will be no NTA JEE Main 2020 Slot Booking. It is informed that the allotment of Centre, Date, and Shift will be done after the closure of the Application Date through computer software as per the decision of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  3. JEE Main 2020 Admit Card – Only those candidates who have successfully booked the slot, will be issued the admit card. It will act as an entry ticket into the exam hall and no student will be allowed to take the exam without the admit card of JEE Main 2020.

Events of Post Exam

  1. JEE Main 2020 Answer Key – Candidates can check the official answer key that will be released by NTA after the exam has been conducted. The official answer key will carry all the correct answers to questions asked in the examination.
  2. JEE Main 2020 Result – After the first exam session has been conducted, the results will be declared. The same events will be conducted for the next exam session of April 2020.

    • Since Application Form Correction Window is open, login into the account and check what provisions are given to make changes in application form. If there is the recovery of email. id then check it and make corrections.

    • For the January 2020 session, the registration process is over. If you have missed the chance to apply for JEE Main 2020 (January), you can fill the form for the April 2020 session (Application Form will be available tentatively in the month of February 2020). So Yes, you have chance to fill the form for JEE Main 2020 but only for the April session.

    • There is the possibility of rejection if not while applying but in the long term, it can hamper you. Documents will be verified later. Make sure that whenever you fill the form, you must have the documents to prove it.

    • If you have passed Class 12th in 2018, 2019 or going to appear in the Intermediate exam in 2020 then you are eligible to sit for both the sessions of JEE Main 2020.

  2. Is jee main paper-1(B-tech) and jee main paper-2(B-arch) is on same date and time or different ? If same then how can I give both exams? If dates are different then what is the date of jee main paper-2 (B-arch)

    • JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2 shall be conducted on separate dates. It is expected that the Paper 2 exam will be conducted on 6th January 2020. In order to not to miss any update keep visiting the website.

  3. I had filled the first exam of jee mains of january but i didn’t filled the exam of april so my ques is -there is any problem regarding this???

  4. Can I apply for jee advanced when I have 60 percentile in jeemains! Exactly how many Mark’s forme in jee main from out of 360? Please Jenny tell me???

    • Hi Pallavi, to take the JEE Advanced, you need to score the cutoff that has not been released yet. We will inform you as soon as it is made available.

    • Nahi, Zaroori nahi h. JEE Mains ke 2 exams jo January and April mein ho rhe hain, unmein se sirf 1 de saktey ho, ya fir dono de saktey ho. It is upto the candidate.

    • Yes, you can apply for jee main if you have taken the JEE Main before in 2017 or 2018. However, if you had already applied for JEE Main 2019 and have not got the admit card, then you cannot apply again for the January exam. You can apply for the April exam.

  5. My marks in class 12 exams were 75 in English, 89 in Alternative English, 72 in Maths, 71 in Chemistry, 62 in Physics. I am from Assam and belong OBC. Am I eligible for counselling if I clear JEE mains
    in 2019 ?

    • You should check top 20 percentile criteria of your respective board.if you sattisfie that condition then you are eligible for counseling .
      Because your total marks is less than 75%

    • Yes, it is compulsory to upload the image with your name and date of taking the photograph on it as it will be required for verification. In case, you haven’t done so, you will be required to change the uploaded image during application form correction window. However, it is not confirmed as of now if the uploaded images can be changed or not. It is most likely that like previous years, this year NTA will allow change in the images uploaded but you must wait for final notice regarding the same.

    • No, it is not necessary to take both the exams. You can either appear for January or April session or appear for both the exams. The choice is yours.

  7. If a student want to give improvement in boards ,for jee mains in how many sub did he have to give improvement ,is this a rule to give improvement in all five subject for jee mains…

    • Hi, as of now you cannot select the date and time. NTA will assign the JEE Main 2019 Date and time. If there are any changes, we will update it here.
