JEE Main Counselling 2020: Joint Seat Allocation Authority, known as JoSAA, conducts the counselling of JEE Main. Ministry of Human Resource Development established it to manage and regulate the admission to 100 tertiary institutes. JEE Main counselling date has been released. JEE Main Counselling (Seat Allotment) 2020
In the counselling of JEE Main, candidates will get the chance for selecting the College as well as Branch for admission. Candidates should check the website from time to time so that they will never miss updates. While going to appear in the JoSAA Counselling, do not forget to carry the important documents. If any candidate will do so then he/ she will not get the chance to participate in the JEE main 2020 counselling. There are a total of 3 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs, and 23 Other-Government Funded Institutes out of which one will be allocated to a candidate for admission. JEE Main counselling will take place online so that qualified candidates can participate without facing any inconvenience.

JEE Main 2020 Counselling (Seat Allotment) Procedure
In this section, candidates will get to know about the process of NTA JEE Main Counselling. A candidate who will participate in the JoSAA 2020 Counselling has to go through the various stages. So, it is important to be aware of them. JEE Main seat allotment 2020 comprises of the stages such as Registration, Choice Filling, Choice Locking, Seat Allocation, Seat acceptance, Participation in subsequent rounds, Dual Reporting, and Withdraw option.
Step 1 – JEE Main Counselling Registration 2020
Candidates who will qualify the exam have to exercise the registration process of JEE Main counselling 2020 of NIT+ system (except IITs) in the first place. On the other hand, those who will qualify JEE (Advance) 2020 shall be eligible for counselling of seats in all participating Institutes. Step 2 – How To Fill Choices In JEE Main Counselling?
At this stage, candidates have to select Institutes and branches in decreasing order of their preference. This is an important stage that will decide the college as well as the branch for admission. Thus, make your choices very carefully and it should be according to your interests.
Step 3 – JEE Main Counselling Choice Locking
After providing the preferences for college and branch for admission, lock your choice for the submission. If any candidate forgets to practice the JEE Main Choice Locking procedure then the last saved choices will lock automatically on the window closing day.
Step 4 – JEE Main Seat Allotment 2020
JoSAA will conduct several rounds of counselling in order to fill the vacant seats of the institutes. A candidate who will be allocated a seat has to pay the seat acceptance fee (through SBI e-Challan/ SBI Net Banking/ SBI debit cards). After making the payment, document verification will start at any reporting center for provisional seat acceptance.
Step 5 – Participation In Succeeding Rounds
In this stage, a candidate will fill the option for ‘freeze’, ‘slide’ or ‘float’ the choice of the academic program. Candidates should exercise this process in the given time so that they do not face inconvenience.
Step 6 – Dual Reporting
A candidate has to report twice in case his/ her allotment from NIT+ system changes to an IIT. If it happens then a candidate should report at an IIT reporting centre once again. Similarly, if his/ her allotment from IIT changes to the NIT+ system then a candidate should report at a NIT+ reporting centre.
Step 7 – Withdraw Option
A candidate if wants to withdraw the seat allocation then he/ she should reach the reporting center before the last round of seat allocation.
