AIIMS PG Merit List 2021: Admission to Post Graduate courses in AIIMS Institute is offered through INI CET 2021. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi releases the exam result. In addition, the result is declared in the form of a merit list. Candidates are further ranked in order of merit in this list. Moreover, the rank list contains the exam Roll Number, All India Rank, Category Rank, Category, and Percentile Score. It is important that each category student scores at least 50% percentile. Determination of marks on the AIIMS PG Rank List 2021
The authorities follow a certain pattern while they are grading your papers. It is in the candidate’s best interest if they know this marking scheme. So, down below we have all the points for the marking scheme of the AIIMS PG Entrance. Make sure that you go through them all.
- For every correct answer, you score one mark [+1].
- For every incorrect answer, you lose one-third [−1/3] of a mark.
- If there is an unanswered question, that shall not affect your grading.
- The Cut-Off Percentile is 50th Percentile. Any candidate scoring 50th or above qualifies for the counseling.
Tie-breaking procedure for INI CET 2021
The AIIMS officials consider tie-breaking criteria when two students end up scoring the exact same marks. This criterion helps them in ranking the students in a fair manner. Further, the tie-breaking criteria considered for AIIMS PG 2021 is as follows:
- Candidate with higher aggregate in all subjects in MBBS /BDS is ranked higher.
- If the tie still continues, then the candidate who has seniority by age is preferred.
Reservation of Seats in the AIIMS 2021 PG
As per Government Norms, some of the seats are reserved for reserved category students. Other category students cannot claim these seats. Hence, the percentage of seats reserved for each category is mentioned in the table given below.

Institutional Preference for AIIMS Graduates
By way of institutional preference those who have graduated from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi are preferred for admission against 50% of total MBBS seats of AIIMS of the open general seats without any discipline-wise preference. Any vacant seat out of any reserved seats, if there is any, is available to another unreserved category candidate next on the merit list.

Important Information about the AIIMS PG Final Merit List 2021
The merit list of the AIIMS Final PG 2021 Merit List has some specific information that we recommend the students to be familiar with.
- AIIMS PG merit list 2021 is released separately for the January and July sessions.
- The merit lists have categories (including SC, ST, and OBC). The Category-wise merit list includes shortlisted category candidates only.
- The list includes details like name and date of birth of the candidate, total marks, percentile scored category rank, and also overall rank.
- One overall merit list is released, that contains the names of all candidates who appear in the exam. It also has its qualifying status.
- No separate intimation letter is sent to the qualifying candidates.
- No requests for revaluation/ rechecking of the AIIMS PG answer sheet are accepted by the examination authorities.
- All candidates have to score the least minimum qualifying score. It is necessary to be eligible for admission in the PG courses.
AIIMS PG Counselling 2021
Candidates who are included in Rank List are called in for AIIMS PG Counseling in the order of their ranks on the merit list for admission to any MD/ MS programs. An official notice is also released by the AIIMS officials. Candidates who haven’t qualified in the exam are not called for counseling.
The counseling is conducted via offline rounds. In addition, the allotment of seats is based on the merit rank of the candidate and depending on MD/ MS seats available at that opted earlier by the candidate.
