Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) will be conducting the annual Engineering Entrance Examination for the academic admissions of 2020 session, tentatively, in the month of April 2020. The Candidates, who are interested in spending their undergrad years in the marvellous university of Vellore, can start applying for the VITEEE 2020 in the month of October 2019. The application submission for VIT 2020 will be subject to VITEEE Eligibility Criteria and candidates who will be successfully enrolling will be able to download their VITEEE Admit Card in the month of March 2020. Furthermore, the candidates who clear the VITEEE Examination will be able to participate in the seat allotment process through the VITEEE Counselling which will take place in the month of May 2020.

VITEEE 2020 Exam Dates

VITEEE Examination will be held in the month of April 2020. Candidates who are interested in pursuing their graduation from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) can start applying for VITEEE 2020 from the last week of October 2019. Applications can be submitted till 2nd week of February 2020. Applicants need to be aware of the complete VITEEE  Entrance Exam 2020 schedule before starting to apply. VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2020

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has set forth certain guidelines for the candidates in order to maintain a standard among the student resource that will be appearing in the VITEEE 2020 Examination.

There are many factors that determine the eligibility criteria for appearing in any examination. The conditions that VITEEE 2020 Eligibility is based includes Age of the student, Qualifications of the student, Subjects that the student has opted in his last qualifying examination, and marks secured by the student. Based on these criterions, VIT decides which candidates are eligible to apply and appear in the VITEEE 2020 Examinations.

The eligibility criteria formulated by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is as follows.

NationalityAny person can apply irrespective of their nationality. Foreign Nationals can apply through the Foreign National Application Form.
Qualifying ExamStudents must have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent examination from CBSE, ICST, FORW, State Boards, or any other government recognized board.

Candidates who have given intermediate or pre-university exams from recognized Board or University.

The Candidates who have a High School certificate from Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma form International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

Candidates with GCE from Cambridge/ London/ Sri Lanka with an advance A level.

Mandatory SubjectsClearing 10+2 standard from any recognized Board is not enough. Candidates must also have studied and passed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. English proficiency is desirable.
Qualifying MarksNow passing 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is not enough as a student must have scored a certain percentage. The overall 10+2 pass percentage should be more than the clearing criteria.

Candidate must have scored an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.

If a candidate has chosen Biology instead of Mathematics, then he/ she must have scored an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together.

Age FactorCandidates should have cleared 12th in the year of 2019, or candidates who are pursuing class 12th in the current academic year are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2020.

Candidate, born on or after 1st July 1997 are eligible to apply.

VITEEE Application Form 2020

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) will be released around the month of October 2019 and candidates will have the provision of applying both online and offline mode. The issue of the Application form via the online mode has to be done from the official website of Vellore Institute of Technology.
Online Candidates can also apply online at www.vit.ac.in through the following mode:

  • Net banking/ Credit card/ Debit card / Paytm for 1150/-

The online applicants need not send the hard copy of the application form to the Institute.

An issue of Application Form – OMR – The Prospectus and the information brochure for the B. Tech programme, along with the necessary enclosures which include the Application Form and a printed self-addressed envelope, can be obtained against cash payment of 1200/- from the various post offices as given in the VIT website.

Candidates can also obtain the application form in person from

  • VIT – Vellore Campus
  • VIT – Chennai Campus
  • VIT – Bhopal and
  • VIT – AP

by handing over a Demand Draft for 1200/- drawn in favour of ‘Vellore Institute of Technology’, payable at the respective campuses.

VITEEE Slot Booking 2020

VITEEE 2020 slot booking will commence in the month of March 2020. All the candidates who want to appear for the VITEEE 2020 will be required to book a slot for the exam. The VITEEE slot booking 2020 will be conducted through VIT OTBS (Online test booking system). VIT Engineering Entrance Examination 2020 will be conducted in 3 slots. The candidate can choose the slot according to his/ her preference. Candidates will be provided with the link of VITEEE slot booking and they will be required to enter their application number and password. The candidate must quickly book a slot of the exam as slots will be booked on the basis of first come first serve.

VITEEE Admit Card 2020

Candidates who will be successfully enrolling themselves for the VITEEE 2020 will be issued with the VITEEE Admit Card 2020. The Admit Card for VITEEE 2020 includes all the exam venue, shift, and timings that the candidates need to note down when they download the VITEEE Admit Card. VITEEE examination organizing authorities will release the VITEEE Admit Card in the online mode, and candidates will have to download the VITEEE Admit Card from the official website of VIT. The Admit Card will only be generated when the candidate enters their slot preferences. Candidates need to make sure that the Admit Card is out of error and discrepancy.

VITEEE Exam Pattern 2020

Exam Pattern of VITEEE 2020 will be held online i.e. computer-based standardized test. Candidates who are going to be appearing in the VITEEE 2020 can expect two different papers.

  • Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics.
  • Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology.

Candidates can choose to appear in either of the exams, given they clear the eligibility criteria.

VITEEE 2020 Exam will be conducted through online mode. The question paper patterns that will be followed are as follows.

  • There will be two sets of paper. One will include questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. The other will include questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • The duration of the exam will be 2 and a half hours.
  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology will consist of 40 questions each.
  • English will consist of 5 questions
  • There will be a total of 125 questions.
  • Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark.
  • There will be no negative marking.

Syllabus for Chemistry – Atomic Structure; p, d, and f block elements; Coordination Chemistry and Solid State Chemistry; Thermodynamics, Chemical Equilibrium and Chemical Kinetics; Electrochemistry; Isomerism in Organic Compounds; Alcohols and Ethers; Carbonyl Compounds; Carboxylic Acids and their derivatives; Organic Nitrogen Compounds and Biomolecules.

Syllabus for English – Comprehension, English Grammar and Pronunciation.

VITEEE Result 2020

The result of VITEEE 2020 will be released in the 3rd week of April 2020. Candidates will be able to view the VITEEE result 2020 in the online mode on the official website. The result of each candidate will reflect the score in VITEEE 2020, the overall score and rank obtained. The ranks of each candidate will also be sent to the registered number through SMS. In order to view the VITEEE 2020 results, candidates must enter their VITEEE application number, date of birth and verification code.  A merit list will also be released based on the results of the candidate.

VITEEE Counselling 2020

The selected candidates will have to submit a DD for 50,000 /- in favour of ‘Vellore Institute of Technology’, payable at Vellore, on the confirmation of seat and acceptance of branch allotted. This includes 11,800/- towards counselling processing fee. The counselling processing fee is non-refundable but will be adjusted in the tuition fees once the candidate joins the Institute.

The counselling for allocation of branches to the shortlisted candidates is based on their All India Rank (AIR) in VITEEE 2020. A candidate may obtain this information on our website or by calling the VIT office, a day after the declaration of the results of VITEEE 2020. Candidates are also required to submit documents at the time of counselling process and if in case, the candidates fail to bring any documents, then he/ she will have to bring forth an undertaking for claiming the absence of the same.

VITEEE 2020 Scholarship

Toppers of each State Board and Central Board will get a 100% Tuition fee waiver for all the four years. VITEEE rank holders of 1 to 50 will get a 75% Tuition fee waiver for all the four years. The VITEEE rank holders of 51 to 100 will get a 50% Tuition fee waiver for all the four years. VITEEE rank holders of 101 to 1000 will get a 25% Tuition fee waiver.
