Visva Bharati University Admission Eligibility criteria
Before applying for any course in VBU the candidates need to look into the eligibility criteria 2020. The criteria are different for OBC, ST/SC cast. There is a 27% reservation of seats for OBC students. There are a 7.5% reservation for ST students, 15% seats for SC students. Whereas, there is not less than 5% reservation of seats for PWD students. Applicants can download VBU’s prospectus 2020. Students need to read the guideline in the prospectus carefully. It provides candidates with the qualifying criteria. The applicants can also check the number of seats available in every course. This will help the candidate with seat availability and the competition. The applications will be rejected of the students whose forms are not up to the mark. The eligibility criteria for VBU admission 2020 are different for every course. Hence, we have summed up all of them to give you a basic idea.
Given below is the eligibility criteria of Visva Bharati University admission 2020:
- Candidates need to have an aggregate of 60% in 10+2 level.
- Students need to have an average of 45-60% in the subject (during 10+2 level).
- Applicants must be of the same streme during 10+2 level in which they want admission.
- Candidates need to have their school leaving certificate.
- Importantly, the candidate should be an Indian citizen.
- The minimum age to get admission in the undergraduate course is 17 and the maximum age is 25 years.
VBU Application Form 2020
The application form for admission in VBU 2020 will start in the first week of May. The following aspirants will only be able to fill and submit the form online on their official website. Candidates can find the admission forms on http://vbu.ucanapply.com/entrance/.
Before filling the admission form of VBU candidates need to check the eligibility criteria. If the candidates do not satisfy the qualifying criteria, their form will be rejected. Candidates need to submit online registration fees before submitting the form. Applicants are expected to pay through debit card, net banking or credit card. The examinee can also pay the registration fee through an offline method. It will be done through a challan which can only be generated online. The challan can be submitted in any branch of HDFC bank.
Candidates are also requested to carefully read the guidelines of the admission process. It will be given in the prospectus. The applicants can check the prospectus of VBU 2020 on their official website. They can also download it from www.visvabharati.ac.in.
Before filling the application form of VBU 2020 candidates need to keep a few items and documents near them.

- Candidates must have a scanned passport size photograph of themselves (100kb).

Visva Bharati University Admit Card 2020
VBU only takes the entrance exam for a limited number of courses, for example, BA Sanskrit, Bengali, Geography, etc. VBU has a common entrance exam called VBCAT (Visva Bharati Common Aptitude Test). To download the VBCAT 2020 candidates need to go on their official website: http://www.visvabharati.ac.in/. The admit cards will be available from the first week of July 2020.
Candidates will only be issued admit card for VBCAT 2020 after a strict verification of their mark sheets and certificates. Accordingly, they will have to download the hall pass online. The admit card will not be sent via post from the University. Candidates have to note that the entry ticket will only be available on the university’s official page and no other website.
The admit card will carry all the basic information of the candidate and the name of their test centres. It is compulsory for every student to carry the hall pass for their entrance exam. Without it, the candidate will not be allowed to give the examination.
Note: It is important for every candidate, who is willing to give the entrance test, to have certificates and mark sheets.
Visva Bharati University Syllabus
The syllabus for VBCAT changes every year. It is requested for every candidate to keep checking their official website for the updated syllabus. VBCAT 2020 is an aptitude test which is common for every course. There will be no negative marking in the entrance exam. Moreover, the paper will mostly have multiple-choice questions.
It is important for all the candidates to have detailed information about the syllabus. This will help them prepare for the test earlier. If the candidates do not know the syllabus with them earlier, they will not be so confident to give the entrance test. The pattern of the question paper remains the same but the curriculum changes every year. In VBU the curriculum of every subject is different. The applicants are advised to check the syllabus of the course they want to apply for VBU.

Visva Bharati University Test centres
VBU will organise The Visva Bharati Common Aptitude Test 2020 (VBCAT). The VBCAT 2020 will be conducted in Shantiniketan and Sriniketan. While filling the online application form the candidates select the test centres. If there is any change in the location, the concerned department of VBU will inform the candidates earlier. An email will be forwarded if there is any change.
VBU will assign the test centres according to applicants preference. The date and venue of VBCAT 2020 will be given on their website as well as Bhavana notice board. Admit card will provide all the information about test centres. So, applicants don’t need to worry about the venue because it will be provided to them before. The university will give the test centres in the first week of June. Candidates can download the admit card of VBCAT 2020 from http://vbu.ucanapply.com/entrance.
VBU Result 2020
The results of VBCAT 2020 will be out after the completion of the entrance exam. In the last week of June 2020, the results will be declared. Students can check their result on VBU’s official website: http://www.visvabharati.ac.in. Candidates will be called for counselling after the VBCAT results are declared.
VBU will be posting two merit list. The first list will be out in the last week of June 2020. The second merit list will release in the first week of August 2020. The second list will release if the seats are still available. Students who appeared for the entrance exam need to make sure they have their admit cards with them. The hall pass carries information about the exam and it is important for candidates to have them. Without it, the students will not be able to log into their account.
Visva Bharati University Cut-off 2020
Candidates need to score a required set of marks to get admission in Visva Bharati University. The students from general category are advised to score a minimum of 30 out of 100 marks in VBCAT. Candidates belonging to OBC quota have to score a minimum of 27 marks out of 100 whereas, there are no qualification marks ST/SC students. Students who fail to get the required marks will not go for the counselling round. However, candidates who qualify will go for counselling. The cut-off remains the same for every subject.
VBU Counselling 2020
After the cut-off list releases, the students who have passed VBCAT 2020 can appear for counselling. The process of counselling is the last and the most important step for taking admission in VBU. COunselling will not be done for the candidates who fail to come on the given date and place. The students who score more than 30 out of 100 in the entrance test. Then only they will be eligible for the round of counselling.
The details of the counselling will be given by VBU on their official website. The qualified students will get the seat on the basis of Merit and Eligibility.

- Original Birth certificate or any other proof
