Maharashtra Nursing Council: Everything to Know About its Functioning

The Nursing Council of Maharashtra is dedicated to safeguarding the health of society at large. It tries to achieve this in the public interest by regulating the nursing profession. The Maharashtra Nursing Council Syllabus is decided by the guidelines of the council members. Because there is a defined course curriculum for various nursing courses. Maharashtra Nursing Council Fee Structure

The fees for various nursing courses in the state of Maharashtra are regulated by the MNC. The council decides on the registration as well as the examination fees for each academic year. The enrolled students are required to check the circulars regarding the fee structure before applying for the course. Therefore, we have given the PDF of the fee structure below for various nursing courses. Though this is an old fee structure, still it would give an idea to the candidates. Important Guidelines For Enrolment

Guidelines for enrollment for various nursing courses are provided below for reference. Candidates wanting to take admission must go through these carefully. These shall help candidates in enrolling in the desired nursing course easily. Furthermore, the course-wise enrolment procedure is explained below.

GNM Course-

  • The online form is made available for a limited period of time. Hence, the students should keep themselves updated with the schedule.
  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  • The maximum age for admission is 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/ LHV.
  • Applicant should have passed 12th Class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
  • 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/ English Elective.
  • Or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ SSCE/ HSCE. Or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
  • 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
  • Also, candidates Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
  • Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examinations or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
  • Male candidates’ enrolment should not exceed 10% of the total enrolment.
  • Download and print the online enrolment copy, certification, and attestation to be done by the Principal/ Nursing Officer and along with 2X2 photograph, S.S.C, H.S.C/ S.S.L.C Certificates, Essentiality Certificate, INC (Suitability), MNC affiliation letter, enrolled eligible registered Tutors list, should be sent to the Council by SPEED POST on or before the last date.
  • Without the Declaration signed and stamped by the Principal, the enrolment shall not be valid.

ANM Course-

  • The last date of the application procedure is announced by the respective ANM State Council.
  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  • The maximum age for admission is 35 years.
  • In addition, the minimum education qualification required is 12th Class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
  • 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/ English Elective.
  • Or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ SSCE/ HSCE. Or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
  • The student shall be medically fit.

List of Recognized Institutes/ Colleges

The Maharashtra Nursing Council recognizes few colleges in the state for carrying out various nursing courses. These colleges are affiliated with the State Nursing Council for its course and curriculum. The state nursing council, on the other hand, works under the regulation of the Indian Nursing Council, which is the largest council body. Therefore, it is important to know about the regulatory body before taking admission into any nursing course.
