The Controller of Examinations of Indira Gandhi National Open University lays a few important dates for admission and examination. Therefore, the students must chcek the dates of the events for the academic session 2025-21. However, these dates are tentative and are subject to changes. How to check IGNOU Result/Grade Card?

The Controller of Examinations of IGNOU conducts Term-end examinations in the month of June and December. Therefore the students who appear in these must check the IGNOU December Result by entering their 9-digit Enrollment Number. Their results will be declared within 60 days of exams get over. Generally, December Exam Results are declared in March and June results in August. Students are required to enter 9 digit enrolment number while checking their results on the official website. • Initially, the candidates must visit the official website (ignou.ac.in) or click here
• After that, they must Scroll Down and click on the Result link
• Then they need to click on “Term-End” / Grade Card
• From the list, the students must click on Latest Link
• Now, they need to enter the enrolment number
• Finally they must click on the “Submit” Button
• The soft copy of the Score Card of IGNOU appears on the computer screen. The students must print a copy of the result for any future references.

IGNOU Revaluation Result

The Controller of Examinations offers the provision for the Revaluation of the answer scripts of the candidates. Those students who have an objection to the IGNOU Revaluation Result 2025 will be able to file an answer sheet for revaluation. Students who are not satisfied with the result can also apply for revaluation of IGNOU TEE Result 2025. To apply students have to fill the form within one month of release of the result. IGNOU Improvement Result 2025

The COE of IGNOU also conducts improvement exam for the students who have failed or want to improve their grade/marks. Therefore, the students of the Master, Bachelor program can apply for this. After the improvement exam, the officials will release the IGNOU Improvement Result 2025 online on the official website. The Improvement Exam is only for those candidates who could not secure a minimum passing percentage in the main exam. Or for those students who could not appear in the exam due to any kind of medical emergency. However, the improvement exam is only for theory paper only, check eligibility before applying.

Eligibility Criteria of Improvement Examination

• 2% marks less than for securing the first/second Division in UG/PG courses.
• For Master Programs who have scored 2% marks less than the overall 55% requirement.

Understanding the Grading System of IGNOU

The students who appear in the IGNOU main examination must know the Grading System of the university. After the declaration of the IGNOU Result from ignou.ac.in, the students must Download the IGNOU Grade Card. Percentage will be calculated as

(Marks in Theory + Marks in Assignment/ Total Marks)*100

Weightage given to Theory and Assignment in TEE is as follows

For example, if you get 89 marks in theory paper and 60 marks on an assignment. Then percentage for that subject will be calculated as:

• Theory marks are 89. 70% of 89 is 62.
• Assignment marks is 60. 30% of 60 is 18.
• Total marks is 62+18 = 80
• The percentage will be (80/100)*100 =80%

What are passing marks in IGNOU Exam?

The students must also know the minimum passing marks in the examination. This is essential because if a candidate fails to secure minimum passing marks in the exam, then he/she cannot get the promotion to the next semester. Then they need to re-appear in the improvement exam to get the passing percentage. If a candidate has appeared for the IGNOU exam then he must have secured at least 35 marks in theory out of 100 and 50% marks in the assignment to be considered as a pass.

What If a Students Fails In The IGNOU Term End Exam?

If a student fails in the IGNOU December 2025 Term End Exam, then they must not Panic. If you had written the correct answer to all question. But your result is showing you are failed. So, you should submit a revaluation form for re-checking your answer sheet. The Indira Gandhi National Open University give only one chance to re-check (revaluation) Answer Sheet. and its online form is available after 15 days of the result declaration date and it will be closed after 15 to 20 days.

IGNOU Back papers

The candidates who have failed in papers in the first year can give their back papers in 2 years. To apply for the back papers the students need to fill the application form. the Back Paper Exam Form will be available on the official website. IGNOU gives you 8 year period to complete all the backlogs in Under graduation and 5 years for completing Post graduation. You will not have to resubmit the assignments if you have already submitted them in your previous year.

IGNOU Cut-Off Marks

For every institution, a set of standards are made. Those standards are in the form of marks, which a candidate is expected to reach. Thus, is called “cut off”. This helps an organization to find the creamy layers from a number of aspirants so as to meet their number of seats. IGNOU to have their sets of cut off. Below that cutoff, candidates are not qualified for further procedure. For pursuing MBA, the maximum qualifying percentage for the general category is 50% and for the reserved category, it is 45%.

Duplicate IGNOU Grade Card

Therefore, to overcome all those situations the university has a provision to get a duplicate grade card issued from the office of the Controller of the Examinations.
