As lots of time and efforts involve for research purposes, most scholarships are for proficient aspirants having Masters’s Degree and willing to go for field research. Generally, UGC Scholarship goes directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries, but in some scholarships, students receive the benefit of the scholarship through their institutes, and the institutions in return get Departmental Assistance from UGC for providing the required facility to the student.
UGC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2025
As the eligibility criteria of each scholarship offered are different, aspiring beneficiaries are advised to check eligibility criteria before applying for UGC Scholarship 2025.
- Candidates who cleared 10+2 or hold a Graduate / Post Graduate / Ph.D. degree from board/university recognized by the education authority of India can apply for UGC Merit Scholarship.
- One who is well versed in spoken and written English will be given UGC Scholarship.
- The nationality of Candidates should be Indian
- The maximum Age Criteria for a male candidate is 45 years. UGC has set the maximum age of 50 for the UGC single girl child scholarship.
How To Apply For UGC Online Scholarship 2025 Portal?
All the applications for UGC Scholarship will be submitted through online mode. Candidates can submit the UGC Fellowship form from National Scholarship Portal. As there are so many scholarships and fellowships, candidates are expected to be confused. - Go to the official website of the National Scholarship Portal (www.ugc.ac.in).
- Find the new registration button and click on it.
- Go through the entire guidelines and continue.
- Fill the entire application form by providing basic details, bank details and Aadhar details.
- Register by re-checking the information you have provided in the form.
Candidates should provide valid information in the application form. If UGC finds any in-correction, the application form will be rejected. We also advise candidates to register only once. Multiple submissions will be considered invalid.
Allocation of UGC Scholarship 2025
UGC will allocate UGC Scholarship via DBT (Direct Beneficiary Transfer) from July 2025. Based on the candidate’s Aadhar Number the awards will be allocated. Aadhar Number will be used as a proof of scholarship allocation. In case students won’t get UGC Scholarship or fellowship, they can visit the UGC Office between 11 a.m. to 12 noon and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
