TNEA Cut Off 2020: Anna University will not conduct any separate exam for TNEA 2020. The TNEA Cut-off 2020 will be released on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam (class 12th). The minimum marks required by an applicant to get admission in the university is known as the cut-off of TNEA 2020. The cut-off is determined by opening and closing marks of admission. The authority has still not notified with the releasing date of TNEA cut off 2020 but it is expected to be released soon in future.

Factors of TNEA Cut Off 2020

There are a number of factors on which the cut-off of TNEA 2020 depends. These factors are listed below :

  • The number of applicants
  • The difficulty level of the class 12th board exams
  • Last year’s cut off
  • The number of available seats.

Calculation of TNEA Cut Off 2020

The authority will release cut-off of TNEA 2020 which will be based on the class 12th score of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The weightage for Mathematics is 50% while the combined weightage of Physics and Chemistry is 50% i.e 25% for each of the two subjects. The formula which will be used by the Anna University to calculate the TNEA 2020 Cut-off is given below:

Cut off 200 = Maths ( 200 / 2 ) + Chemistry ( 200 / 4 ) + Physics ( 200 / 4 )

TNEA Merit List 2020

The University will release a TNEA Merit List 2020. The list will be prepared on the basis of the score obtained in class 12th. The merit list will be made available in the fourth week of June 2020. The marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be reduced to  200. If 2 or more applicant scores same marks then an inter-se merit list will be released. This list will be determined in the following order:

  • Percentage of marks in Mathematics
  • The Percentage of marks in Physics
  • Percentage of marks in an Optional subject
  • Preference is given to older age candidate
  • If the tie still exists, then a random number will be assigned to the applicant.

TNEA Counselling 2020

According to the Merit list prepared by the Anna University, aspirants need to attend the TNEA Counselling 2020. The counselling will comprise of five rounds. Applicants will be grouped as per the rank they have obtained. Applicants need to log in to the official portal by entering their respective email id and password for attending the counselling process of TNEA 2020. Now the candidate has to participate in the choice filling. For this, aspirants must fill a number of choices in priority order which will increase their chances of admission. For participating in choice filling candidates need to pay fees. The amount that needs to be paid by different category is tabulated below. After choices have been filled, applicants need to lock them. In case the candidate fails to lock, then the authority will lock them automatically.
