NIOS Admission 2020: National Institute of Open Schooling is a Board under the Union Government which is similar to the other education board CBSE and ICSE. The admission 2020 procedure for the session 2020-21 has not yet announced by the NIOS. However tentative dates are taken into account. There are two phases of the admission process. The 1st slot runs from March to September and 2nd slot runs from September to March. 1st slot of admission takes the exam in April/May and 2nd slot in October/November. NIOS Admission Important Dates
The date is an important thing through which the whole schedule/event is held. This lead to the management of the events held every year. Thus the candidates must follow the dates mentioned by the Board. As per the schedule, things will take place. Below are the important Dates for admission 2020.

There is no official announcement by the board till date regarding the Admission 2020 procedure. The table given above is just for the general reference. Above dates are not the actual dates by the Board. It is the tentatives dates which the candidates have to keep in mind. How To Apply For NIOS Admission 2020
In order to write the exam, candidates have to take admission in the NIOS. There is a process for everything. Candidates have to follow certain procedures in order to apply for the exam in 2021. The steps they need to follow are:
- Visit the official site of NIOS
- A home page of the NIOS will appear
- Go for “ Admission, Secondary, Sr. Secondary, and Vocational “ in home page and click it
- Click on the link “ Admission for all streams under academic secondary and senior secondary”
- Select the “ April-May “ Or Oct-Nov” slot as per your preference.
- Once clicked on it, there is 6 phase through which the candidates have to go in order to finish the admission process for 2020. Those six phases are:

However one should keep in mind that the rejection of admission form can take place if:
- Required documents are missing.
- False documents submitted by the students.
- Required educational qualification and age criteria are not fulfilled
- Students did not pass the secondary examination from a recognized Board.
Note: Reconsideration of the admission will not take place if the admission procedure once canceled. The application fee won’t be refunded.
Upload The Documents
While filing the form, the Board want the students to scan and upload the documents. This is a very important step as all the documents need to be scanned and uploaded in the admission process. The document that needs to be uploaded are:
- Recent Passport size colored photographs.
- Valid Identity Proof like Aadhar Card, Voter id., Passport, etc
- Signature (preferably in Black Ink).
- Date of Birth proof in case of the Secondary Course. dd/mm/yyyy is the format for it
- Residence proof
- Class 8th Marksheet or Self Certificate ( For secondary course).
- Class 10th Marksheet/ Certificate ( For Senior Secondary Course)Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC).
- Ex-serviceman Certificate (if applicable)
- Disability Certificate (if there is any)
- Fail Mark sheet of previous Board, failing which Transfer of Credit (TOC) marks will not be updated in NIOS result. If TOC Board marked with (*Other) is selected then the Result should be available on the Concerned Board Website or Learner has to submit result verification letter from Concerned Board as per NIOS norms
Once done with the forms and documents, one has to submit the fee and the process will get over.
Note: Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the documents to NIOS. They have to submit it when there is a call from NIOS and other concerned departments from the Board through SMS or email.
Preview the admission form and check whether all the information entered is correct or not. After finalizing click on the “ submit” button and take a print of it for further reference. A confirmation mail and SMS will be sent to the candidates in their registered mobile and email.id.
Eligibility for NIOS Admission 2020
Though this provides a great opportunity to the students there are certain eligibility criteria without which one cannot fill the admission form. Students who want to write the exam must fulfill the criteria as per the requirement of the Boards. NIOS takes secondary and senior secondary exams into the account. Other courses are also offered by the main concentration is on the 10th and 12th board. Those who apply for the 10th board must clear the Class VIII and have the attested certificate showing that candidates have passed class VIII. Attested needs to be done by the gazetted officer. On the other hand for the 12th board, candidates need to clear the std. X examination.
NIOS Admit Card 2021
Admission process will take place in 2020 and thus the exam will be held in 2021. The registered candidates wait for the exam eagerly. Admit card is the most important document in order to carry the exam. Without the admit card candidates won’t be allowed to sit for the exam. Candidates need to carry the hall ticket on the date of examination. It must be noted that students must carry it for each subject. Admit card will be issued in 2021 by the NOIS Board.
There is no official announcement by the Board for the 2021 procedure. Admit card will be issued twice a year. This is because of the two different exam slots. As per the slot, candidates must into the admit card. It can be download from the site of NIOS or candidates must look into this article for the hall ticket. By entering the enrollment no. and hall ticket type one can download it. There is a hall ticket type because the subject contains the theory as well as practical. Take the hard copy of the admit card.
Note: Hall ticket will only be downloaded if candidates pay the exam fee.
NIOS Exam Sheet 2021
the exam schedule is the most important thing for any candidates who are going to appear for the exam. Board will issue the exam sheet prior to the exam. The sheet contains a lot of information about the exam. The exam time table for Xth Board and XIIth Board will issue online. Multiple information carried in the schedule are dates, time, subject and code. Those who prepare for the exam, exam dates are of great importance. It helps the students to prepare themselves for the exam. Provides enough time so that students can revise the syllabus and appear for the exam.
NIOS Syllabus For Session 2020-21
In order to prepare for the exam, one must know the syllabus. As per the syllabus, candidates prepare themselves for the exam. The syllabus for both the Board is available in the official site of the NIOS. One can get the syllabus from there. Each and every subject has a syllabus in the pdf format. Thus according to the subject, one can download the syllabus. One can view the list in the “ student information center” section and “general information” the subsection in the site. Sample papers are also there so that students can practice it. Practicing the sample paper will help the students to clear their understanding of the subjects.
NIOS Result For Session 2020-21
The NIOS will declare the result, once the exam is over. It will release the result separately for Xth and XIIth board. In the home page of the NIOS, check for the announcement section.
