  3. Will the same new criteria of 2020 continue for the next year 2021nthat a candidate has to pass only in the 10+2 exams.. or it will be the old one?

    • For 2021, the candidates who have passed in 2019, 2020 can apply. The appearing candidates i.e 2021 can also apply. But make sure that this is for the JEE Main. In JEE Advanced the candidates who will clear the 10+2 in 2020 and 2021 will be eligible.

    • Yes, you are eligible. Candidates have to secure the minimum eligibility i.e 75% in the 12th board. The aggregate of 12th marks is taken into consideration for filling the form. However, the admission in the NIT and IIT solely depends on the JEE Main and JEE Advanced performance (Ranking).

  11. Can i get admission in any NIT’S or IIIT college if i have my percentage less than 75% but i have suitable marks in mains…..???

    • No, the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the
top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST
candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination. Therefore, if you have less than 75% or 65%, admission to IIITs, NITs and CFTIs is not possible.

  12. Jee main require. 75% marks. If we will give improvement exam then do we need to give all subjects exam. Or we can choose one or two subject to bring marks upto 75% as jee require.

    • No, you are not eligible. Minimum qualifying percentage for admission to NITs, CFTIs and IIITs is 75% (general) and 65% (SC/ST).

  13. Hi sir,

  14. We have to get 75% in12th with including all five subject or 4(PCME/PCMH) or 3(PCM)
I don’t known please help me regarding this

    • There are no minimum qualifying marks to take the JEE Main. After you qualify the exam, you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the institution that you want to take admission in.

  15. Hello sir,
I am belonging to state board. I have appeared my 12th board from JAC. I got overall 60% results. I want to ask you that “Am I eligible for jee main 2019 ?”

    • You cannot qualify class 12th without a language subject. It is mandatory for all boards. And You also need to enter the marks of one language subject in JEE Main 2019 application form.

  17. Sir I had passed my 12th class examination actions this year and I had also tried for jee main this year but i was unable to crack it. So that sitter howany time I can appear for this exam 6 times or 4 times or 2 times

    • Hi,
since you had appeared for JEE Main in 2018, you can now take the JEE Main 2019 and JEE Main 2020. In each of these years, the exam will be conducted twice but will be treated as 1 attempt in a year and therefore you will now have 4 more chances to take the JEE Main.

    • You can give the exam before appearing for 12th exam as it will give you an idea of how to take the exam and you will be able to perform better in JEE Main April session. Studying for Class 12th board exam will also help you prepare for JEE Main 2019 January session.

However, if you are fully confident that you can perform your best in one chance only with better preparation, then take the JEE Main 2019 April exam.

  18. I am repeating my 12 exam again because i got compartment in one exam in cbse 2018 .is i am eligible to give jee main 2019 exam and if eligible what should i have to fill in application form??

  19. Hi Sir,this is Ramesh mancharla.I completed my diploma in civil engineering department during the academic year of 2017-2018.may i know whether I’m qualified or not to write JEE MAIN -2019

    • Hi Dhanush
Firstly you must know that a candidate can take the JEE Main only 3 times in 3 years back to back.
Before the JEE Main 2019, every JEE Main was conducted once in a year which was considered as one attempt.
Since now NTA is conducting JEE Main twice in a year, it will still be treated as one attempt. So if you take JEE Main 2019 January exam or you take JEE Main April exam, the best result of the two will be counted and will be treated as one attempt.

      • But jee main just needs 75% marks. And improvement exam is of main subjects only and not for optional so how could we give all five subjects.

        • Hi Prinju,

Yes you can always give improvement in your 12th Class exams but not in JEE Mains…

75% marks are required to qualify for JEE Advanced , JEE Mains don’t require 75% marks

          • So to be eligible for jee mains i can give improvement exam in any of 5 subjects and not in all subjects. I just need to bring 75% marks… Due to physics my % got low.. So i will try to get marks in physics ..

    • If you have taken the JEE Main 3 times already, you cannot appear in JEE Main 2019.
However if you have attempted JEE Main in 2017 and 2018, you can write the JEE Main 2019.

Get a clear idea about the number of attempts from this article

  20. I passed out my 12th standard in the year 2017/18. And i got a seat in tseamcet and iim studing the b tech
Am i eligible for the jee main 2019

    • Qualifying the JEE will get you admission in the reputed NITs, IIITs and CFTIs if you wish to pursue engineering and want to bag a really good package after graduating. It is also the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced.
NEET will help you get admissions in top Medical colleges to pursue any programme in the field of medicine.
