Eligible and willing candidates have to fill the NIOS admission form prior to the board exam. Those who want to give the board exam have to register themselves one year prior to the exam. Every year thousands of students enroll in it. There are two phases of the admission process. The 1st slot runs from March to September and the 2nd slot runs from September to March. Important Dates of NIOS Admission
The date is an important thing through which the whole schedule/event is held. This leads to the management of the events held every year. Thus the candidates must follow the dates mentioned by the Board. As per the schedule, things will take place. Below are the important Dates for admission 2020.

NIOS Application Form 2020
The candidates, who are looking forward to pursuing their studies in NIOS will have to fill an application form. The application form of NIOS for the October session was released on the 16th of September 2019 on the official website. The last date to apply for the session of October has ended. Now, one can apply with the late fee. While filling in the application form of NIOS, one should make sure that he/ she is filling all the correct details. After the candidate applies for NIOS, he/ she will have to pay the application fee. The step of paying the fee will lead to the procedure of uploading the required documents. If one turns unable to complete all the steps, then he/ she will not be able to submit the form.
Required Documents for NIOS Admission
While filing the form, the Board want the students to scan and upload the documents. This is a very important step as all the documents need to be scanned and uploaded in the admission process. The document that needs to be uploaded are:
- Recent Passport size coloured photographs.
- Valid Identity Proof like Aadhar Card, Voter id., Passport, etc
- Signature (preferably in Black Ink).
- Date of Birth proof in case of the Secondary Course. dd/mm/yyyy is the format for it
- Residence proof
- Class 8th Marksheet or Self Certificate ( For secondary course).
- Class 10th Marksheet/ Certificate ( For Senior Secondary Course) Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC).
- Ex-serviceman certificate (if applicable)
- Disability Certificate (if there is any)
- Fail Mark sheet of previous Board, failing which Transfer of Credit (TOC) marks will not be updated in NIOS result. If TOC Board marked with (*Other) is selected then the Result should be available on the Concerned Board Website or Learner has to submit result verification letter from Concerned Board as per NIOS norms.
Note: Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the documents to NIOS. They have to submit it when there is a call from NIOS and other concerned departments from the Board through SMS or email. Though this provides a great opportunity to the students there are certain eligibility criteria without which one cannot fill the admission form. Students who want to write the exam must fulfill the criteria as per the requirement of the Boards. NIOS takes secondary and senior secondary exams into the account. Other courses are also offered by the main concentration is on the 10 and 12 board. Those who apply for the 10th board must clear the Class 8th and have the attested certificate showing that candidates have passed class VIII. Attested needs to be done by the gazetted officer. On the other hand for the 12th board, candidates need to clear the std. 10th examination. The Admit card of NIOS is the most important document in order to carry the exam. Without the NIOS admit card candidates won’t be allowed to sit for the exam. Candidates need to carry the hall ticket on the date of examination. It must be noted that students must carry it for each subject. The NIOS Admit Card will be issued in 2025 by the Board. The NIOS Hall Ticket for both the sessions will get issued on the individual dates. This is because of the two different exam slots. As per the slot, candidates must into the admit card. It can be download from the site of NIOS or candidates must look into this article for the hall ticket. By entering the enrollment no. and hall ticket type one can download it. There is a hall ticket type because the subject contains the theory as well as practical. Take the hard copy of the admit card. The exam schedule is the most important thing for any candidates who are going to appear for the exam. The board has issued the NIOS exam date sheet 2020 for class 10th and 12th. The sheet contains a lot of information about the exam. The multiple information carried in the schedule are dates, time, subject and code. Those who prepare for the exam, exam dates are of great importance. It helps the students to prepare themselves for the exam. It provides enough time so that students can revise the syllabus and appear for the exam. In order to prepare for the exam, one must know the syllabus. As per the syllabus, candidates prepare themselves for the exam. The syllabus for both the Board is available in the official site of the NIOS. One can get the syllabus from there. Each and every subject has a syllabus in the pdf format. Thus according to the subject, one can download the syllabus. Practicing the sample paper will help the students to clear their understanding of the subjects. The NIOS will declare the result, once the exam is over.
