The admission to most of the courses is on the basis of marks of the candidates in the qualifying examination (Class 12th Board Marks).
However, for the following courses, the admission is on the basis of an entrance exam:
- For admission to B.Com. (Hons.), Osmania University conducts the Common Entrance Test which is a multiple-choice based exam. The exam is of 90 minutes’ duration with questions on numerical ability, business concepts, general knowledge, grammar, reading comprehension, essay writing. The exam is of 100 marks in total.
- For the Bachelor of Law (LL.B.), admission is granted on the basis of merit in the Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET). The exam has 120 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. Candidates get 90 minutes to finish the examination. The paper is divided into 4 sections – General Knowledge, Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Aptitude for the study of Law.
- The admission to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is granted on the basis of the Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (AP EdCET). The candidates get 120 minutes to answer 150 multiple-choice questions. The paper is divided into the following 3 parts:
- Part 1 consists of General English.
- Part 2 has questions on General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude.
- For Part 3, candidates have the choice of taking Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, or English as one of the subjects.
- Osmania University also conducts a common entrance test for admission to Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences (B.L.I.Sc.). It is a 100 marks paper with objective-type questions.

The academic council of Osmania University, Hyderabad, also offers research-level M.Phil. and PhD courses in various subjects. Osmania University B.Ed. Admission 2025
The Faculty of Education at Osmania University offers a regular course in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) for a duration of 3 years.
