Punjab is one of the many states that is a hub of many reputed medical and dental colleges. The Admissions to the medical colleges of Punjab will be done through the Punjab MBBS admission procedure conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, the designated state Government authority. All the candidates who want to pursue the undergraduate course of Bachelors in Medicine and Bachelors in Surgery offered in the State of Punjab must participate in the admissions procedure. The admission will be granted to eligible candidates on the basis of the score obtained by the candidate in national level medical examination i.e. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Candidates who have completed their high school and want to study medicine can apply for the admission procedure. In all the 8 medical colleges of Punjab, 820 seats will be reserved for MBBS. There will be no entrance examination. 85% of seats will be filled under the state quota whereas 15% seats will be open under the All India Quota. Important Dates Punjab MBBS
Aspiring students who want to apply for the MBBS admissions must make sure that they know all the dates of the related events and do not miss out on any important date. The Punjab MBBS admission dates for the academic session of 2018-19 have been tabulated below:

Punjab MBBS Eligibility Criteria
Prior to filling up the Punjab MBBS application form, all candidates must make sure that they possess all the criteria laid down by the admission conducting authority. The eligibility criteria are the conditions based on certain parameters like age, nationality, educational qualification, etc. In case an ineligible candidate fills the application form, his/her application will be rejected at any point in time in the admission procedure. The eligibility criteria are given below:
- The applicant must be 17 years of age as on 31st December 2018.
- He/she must have passed class 12th examination with Physics and Biology as compulsory subjects.
- Â Candidates should have secured an aggregate score of least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. For candidates of the SC/ST/PwD category, the minimum eligible score is 45%.
- Candidate must have qualified the NEET 2018 and met the cut-off of NEET 2018.
- Candidates must be a resident of Punjab.
Punjab MBBS Application Form
The eligible candidates can apply for Punjab MBBS 2018 admissions by filling the online application form which will be made available in the month July 2018. The first step in the application procedure is to register on the official website using your NEET roll number and rank. After this, candidates will be required to fill the application form by providing personal and academic details. They will also be required to enter their category details and in case a candidate fills up invalid category details, he/she will be considered under the general category automatically. In application form filling process, the applicant will be required to upload the scanned image of his/her photograph and signature in the correct specification. Punjab MBBS application will be incomplete without the payment of the application fee. This application fee has to be paid through e-challan that will be generated while filling up the application form. The last step to complete the application form is to check all the details and submit the application form. Applicants must make sure to take a print out of the filled in application form for future references.
Punjab MBBS Merit List
After the Punjab MBBS application form has been submitted, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot will release the merit list of the admission procedure. The merit list will contain the names of all the candidates who are eligible for admissions to the 8 medical colleges. The merit list will be released separately for all the categories and will be based on the performance of the candidate in NEET 2018. Merit list will be released in the online mode only. However, it does not guarantee that all the candidates listed under it will be allotted seats. Only those who have completed the counselling procedure will be given admissions. Punjab MBBS 2018 Merit List will carry candidate’s Application number, NEET Roll Number, Name, Father’s name, NEET Rank, NEET Marks, and Percentile.
The Punjab MBBS counselling will be held for the 85% state quota seats by BFUHS. The first round of counselling will be held in the 3rd week of July. Candidates will be called for counselling based on the merit list. In the counselling procedure, the candidates will be asked to fill in the college according to their preference. The seats will be allotted to the candidate basis his/her rank, the choices filled by the candidate and the availability of the seats. Punjab MBBS 2018 Counselling
Candidates will be required to bring the following documents in the sets of two for verification:

- 12th Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate
- 10th Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate
- Category Certificate
- Domicile Certificate
- Character Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- Passport Size Photographs
Eligible candidates who have been listed on the merit list have to be physically present for the admission. After the above-mentioned documents have been verified, the principal of the respective college will issue a fee receipt and the candidate will be required to pay the tuition fee in any branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce/HDFC Bank.
If the candidate wishes to change the allotted college, he/she has to take participate in the next round of counselling that will be conducted in August 2018.
