NEHU Application Form 2025 Date
The Admission Council will announce the official dates for the admission process for the academic session 2025. The application forms for admission into various UG/PG courses are available on the website. However, we have provided the application form dates below. NEHU University Application Form 2025 is available online. The candidate, who is looking forward to taking admission into the North Eastern Hill University must make sure to be updated with all the dates. North-Eastern Hill University List Of Courses and Selection Criteria
Before filling the NEHU Application Form 2025 the candidates must carefully note the list of courses. They must go through the eligibility criteria for admission in a particular course. Also, different courses have different modes of selection process. Therefore, the candidates must check the selection criteria for each course before filling the application form. Here is a list of UG and PG courses and the mode of selection into these courses.
General Eligibility Criteria
The Admission Council decides the selection criteria for various courses. However, the candidates must go through the course-wise eligibility criteria. In order to get the details, one must refer to the prospectus for the academic session 2025. Therefore, we are giving a list of basic eligibility criteria for admission. The aspirants can read the minimum eligibility conditions given below:
Honours Degree Course:
a. Science Stream: For admission to this course, a student shall have passed the “Plus Two” with a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned elective subject relevant to the Honours. A student shall also be required to have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
b. Commerce Stream: For admission to this course, a student shall have passed the “Plus Two” with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Further, a student of Science & Arts streams shall also be eligible for admission provided he/she secures a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
c. Arts Stream:
(i) For admission to this Course, a student shall have passed the Plus Two with a minimum of 45% marks in the concerned elective subject relevant to the Honours subject. Further, a student shall also be required to have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
(ii) A student shall be eligible for Honours in a subject not offered/taken as an elective at the Plus Two provided he/she has secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
(iii) A student who has passed the Plus Two in Science/Commerce shall also be eligible for admission to Honours provided he/she has secured a minimum of 50% mark in aggregate.
(iv) A student shall be eligible for Honours in English with 45% marks in Elective English at Plus Two and shall also be required to have 45% marks in aggregate. A candidate, who has not taken Elective English at the Plus Two shall also be eligible for Honours in English provided he/she has secured 50% marks in aggregate.
General Degree Course:
a. Science Stream: For admission to this Course, a student shall have passed the “Plus Two” or any other equivalent and recognised examination in the relevant stream.
b. Commerce Stream: For admission to this Course, a student shall have passed the “Plus Two” or any other equivalent and recognised examination in the relevant stream. Further, a student of Science and Arts stream shall also be eligible for admission.
c. Arts Stream: For admission to this course, a student shall have passed the “Plus Two” or any other equivalent examination.

List of MPhil./Ph.D. Programs 2025-23
The university offers M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses at the doctoral level with 18 and 2 specializations respectively. Those who have completed Master’s Degree in respective discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST candidates) or minimum of Grade “B” in the 7-point UGC scale from a recognized University are considered eligible to get admission in Ph.D. / M.Phil. programs. Candidates must fill the NEHU Ph.D. Application Form 2025 from the official website. Admission to both courses is given on the basis of merit in the entrance test and personal interview conducted by the concerned department.

How to Fill The Application Form of NEHU?
The Admission Council will release the NEHU Online Application Form on its official website. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can fill the form. Candidates applying for M.Phil. and PhD programs should submit a write-up of 200 words explaining the reason for joining the course. The submission of the NEHU Application Form requires certain steps which have to be followed by the applicant. The steps to fill the application form have been laid down below:
- Initially, the applicants will have to visit the official website of the university nehu.ac.in
- In the next step, the candidates will have to click on the “Online Admission” link
- Register yourself and enter your Name, DOB, and Email ID
- You will get an Id and Password to log into your account
- Now the students must make the NEHU Online Form Fill Up by providing the required details
- Make the payment online of INR 600 and INR 300 (for SC/ ST category) should be paid online using Debit/ Credit card and Net Banking of HDFC or SBI Bank
- Finally, the candidates have to click on the “Submit” button in order to submit the application form
- Also, the applicants must take the print out of the application form and submit it to the concerned department at the time of admission.
M.Phil. and Ph.D. Application Process
- Go to the official website of the college
- Click on Download Forms under the “Academic” section
- Download the “Registration Form” of the respective course
- Take its print out
- Fill the application form
- Attach all the required documents (Attested copy of Mark sheet and Category certificate)
- Make the payment of application fee through Demand Draft.
- Submit the application form either through the post or in person.
NEHU Application Fee
The applicants must pay the application fees applicable for a particular course. Candidates must note that the NEHU Shillong Online Application Form without paying fees is considered invalid. Therefore, the applicants must necessarily pay the application fees after filling the application form. Also, they must retain the print of the fee receipt for any future reference. The candidates can pay the application fees through the online mode only. The applicant will be able to pay the fee through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking through SBI and HDFC Bank. NEHU Exam Form 2025
The Academic Council of North-Eastern Hill University follows the Annual mode of the course curriculum. In annual mode, the University shall conduct 3 (three) Examinations, one each at the end of an academic year. Therefore, at the end of each academic year, the candidates will have to sit for the theory and practical exams. In order to sit for the annual exams, the students must fill the NEHU Examination Form from the official website. Also, the students will have to pay the Examination Fees along with the exam form. Without filling the Examination Form, no candidates can sit for the annual examination. It is necessary to secure a minimum passing percentage in each paper. A candidate who fails in one year can’t get promoted to the next year, without clearing all the papers.
Note: The students must also have the minimum attendance record in order to appear in the semester exams.
