Maharastra MBBS Admission 2018 – Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Maharastra conducts the counselling for admission to undergraduate MBBS programme in the medical College/Institution of the state Maharashtra. It does not conduct any entrance exam for admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course in the medical colleges. It only conducts online counselling based on the NEET Exam score.

Aspirants who appeared in the NEET 2018 are required to fill in the application form and have to pay the registration cum counselling fee in order to participate in the counselling procedure. Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Maharastra will conduct counselling for 85% state quota seats only. However, admissions to remaining 15% seats will be filled on all India quota basis and counselling will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) separately.

Eligibility Criteria of Maharashtra MBBS Admission 2018
Directorate of Medical Education and Research, the official board of counselling prepares and releases the set of eligibility conditions required to participate in the counselling procedure for admission to MBBS programme. Aspirants need to possess all the eligibility criteria mentioned below in order to apply for Maharashtra MBBS Admission 2018.

Merit list Maharashtra MBBS Admission 2018
The Directorate of Medical Education and Research determines and prepares the merit list for admission of applicants to MBBS programme in the colleges/Institution of the state Maharashtra. Merit list is prepared by considering the following factors :-
- Number of applicants applied for MBBS programme
- Seat availability
- Marks and Rank obtained in the NEET 2018 exam.
Counselling is done based on the rank obtained in the merit list. If the registered candidate does not find his/her name on the merit list, then they are not eligible for the admission. Merit list of Maharashtra MBBS Admission 2018 is expected to be published in 3rd week of July 2018.
Counselling and Seat Allotment Maharashtra MBBS Admission 2018
If a candidate finds his/her name in the merit list, then they should report at the counselling venue (chosen while filling up the application form). Based on the preference of college and marks obtained in NEET exam, applicants will be allotted seats in the college of their preferred choice.
If the candidate successfully allotted a seat in the college, then he/she should physically report to the college along with the necessary documents within specified date and time. Candidates have to pay the academic fee in order to confirm their seats. If any candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotment, then he/she can opt to sit for next round of counselling.
Seat Reservation Maharashtra MBBS Admission 2018
The government of state Maharashtra reserves a certain percentage of the seat for the candidates belonging to reserved categories in all the participating Institute/Colleges. Reserved category here indicates the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) etc.
Applicants must choose their category from the drop-down list while filling up the application form for counselling. Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents in the prescribed annexure (available in the official brochure) at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of reserved seats, failing which the category claim will not be granted.
