Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Scholarship Amount 2025: It is a scholarship program established by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Government of India. KVPY Scholarship Amount 2025

Aspirants who qualify for the KVPY 2025 will be receiving a monthly scholarship up to the Pre-PhD level. All candidates must make sure to fulfill all KVPY Scholarship eligibility criteria before applying for the KVPY scholarship program. Candidates who have done basic sciences in SA/SX/SB – during 1st to 3rd years of – B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math. / Integrated M.Sc. /M.S will be granted monthly scholarship money of Rs. 5000 and Annual Contingency Grant of Rs. 20,000. Those who pursue basic sciences in SA/SX/SB – during M. Sc. / 4th to 5th years of Integrated M.Sc. /M.S./M.Math./M.Stat will be granted a monthly fellowship of Rs. 7000 and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 28,000.

Scholarship For KVPY Amount Eligibility 2025

Candidates applying for KVPY Scholarship 2025 Amount will have to make sure that they are aware of the eligibility criteria which is defined by the authorities of the Institute.  The information brochure on the official website (kvpy.iisc.ernet.in) will consist of the KVPY eligibility criteria. The candidates must read it carefully. It will be important that the candidate has fulfilled the criteria. The application form will not be accepted in any other case. The criteria will be defined as per the course for which the candidate applied for.

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana examination 2025 will be conducted for 3 streams of SA, SB and SX. Students applying for KVPY Scholarship amount must know what these streams mean. Check the points given below:

SA Stream – KVPY Scholarship For Class 11th (Science stream) Candidates

Candidates must have passed class 10th with Mathematics and Science subjects like physics chemistry and biology. Students belonging to the general category must have secured a minimum of 80% marks in aggregate and the students of reserved category SC/ST/PwD need to secure 70% marks. 

SX Stream – KVPY Scholarship For Class 12th (Science stream) Candidates

The SX Stream is the KVPY Scholarship For Class 12th Students. Therefore, students who have studied in class 12th (Science Stream) can apply to this stream. The candidate must have passed class 12th with Mathematics and Science subjects (PCB). Candidates belonging to the general category have to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in Science subjects(PCB) in Class 12th. Reserved category students of SC/ST/PwD must score at least 50% in the said subjects. General category students must have obtained at least 80% marks in aggregate in class 10th. Students belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category must have obtained at least 70%. 

SB Stream 

Candidates who have enrolled in the first year of the undergraduate program in Basic Science courses (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics and Biology) leading to B. Sc/ BS/ B. Math/ B. Stat/ MS/ Int. M. Sc can apply for this exam. Candidates belonging to the general category must have obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate in the 10+2 examination. Reserved category candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in the same. Students also have to pass their first year of graduation final examination and secure at least 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PWD).

What Is KVPY Scholarship 2025?

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana works in the following manner; The fellow studies a basic science course in school/college or university and has to maintain a minimum level of academic performance of 60% (for general category) and 50% (for SC, ST, OBC) marks in aggregate or equivalent and have to pass all the subjects prescribed.

In each academic year, the above-specified marks have to be certified/validated by the head of the institution and if the candidate fails to obtain the same, his/her KVPY Scholarship will be discontinued. However, if the candidate passes all the subjects and obtains more marks in the subsequent years, his/her fellowship can be renewed under the same condition that the candidate will obtain 50% / 60% aggregate marks depending on the category.

Apart from this, participation and satisfactory performance of the candidates in the Summer Camp in the first year and the summer project every year is required for the renewal of the fellowship. 

Candidates applying must note that KVPY 2025 Scholarship for the students will be started after class 12th / (+2) / I year UG, only if they pursue an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences, that is, B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Environmental Science or Geophysics.
