Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a national level fellowship program. It is conducted to provide scholarship up to pre-Ph. D level to the selected candidates. The aim of this programme is to encourage young students to take up research in the field of basic science. The selection is based on the aptitude test and interview managed by the IISc. The Advertisement for KVPY appears in all the National Dailies on Technology Day (May 11) and second Sunday of July every Year.

The exam (in the form of an aptitude test)for the KVPY 2018 fellowship programme is conducted every year in the month of November and the interview for the same is held in between January to February. The Answer keys of the same will be released on the official website within 15-20 days of aptitude test. The results of KVPY 2017 held on 5th and 19th November 2017 have been announced.

All candidates who qualify the examination and are shortlisted based on their performance in the exam will be called for the selection procedure commonly known as the interview round. The list of interview centers and the respective dates have been announced on the official website.

The performance of the candidates will be the sole basis for selection. During the interview, candidate’s knowledge of science and research will be cross-checked. After the interview has been conducted, the final list of selected candidates will be released by the Indian Institute of Science.

Eligible candidates can now download the Interview call letter. The information for the interview like timings, venue, and date will be sent to the candidate through the mail on his/her registered email id. Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a print of the interview call letter that has to be mandatorily carried to the interview venue.

On successful completion of the exam and interview round, candidates will be granted a scholarship.
