About KSNC Bengaluru

The Karnataka State Nursing Council is an autonomous body which keeps a check on the nursing practice in the state. The council members decide the course curriculum of nursing education. Apart from the course and academics, the council also holds power over the practice of nursing in the state. KSNC Bengaluru is one of the state nursing councils in India. The first council got the nomination from the State Government of Karnataka. The council constitutes different members representing various constituencies under section 3 of the Act, altogether consisting of 22 members.

Karnataka Nursing Council Functions

The Karnataka Nurses Registration Council is the main regulatory body for all nursing courses in the state. The Council functions as per the decisions of the President and Vice-President of the council. Also, the members of the council elect the leaders for both of these posts, under section 5 of the Karnataka Nursing Council Act. The Council meets under the Chairmanship of and take a decision on the matters covered by its statutory functions as enumerated below.   • The council functions in the regulation of training program of the diploma, Graduate and Post Graduate Courses.
  • It also supervises the practice of the profession by its members.
  • The council also grants recognition to the training institutions.
  • Also, it conducts periodical Inspection of the institutions. The Council is the governing authority of physical and clinical facilities in almost all the nursing courses in the institution.
  • The Karnataka Nurses Council prescribes the syllabus and curriculum for various nursing courses and conducts the qualifying examination thereafter.
  • It registers and grants certificates to qualified persons to practice their profession.
  • The council keeps a check on the malpractices and takes action against the practice of the profession by quacks in the name of nursing.

How to Renew the Registration Form

The state nursing council is responsible to provide registration to the nurses to practice in the state. It is compulsory for the degree holders to obtain the registration certificate. Let us now know about the Karnataka Nursing Council Renewal Requirements for the renewal of the nursing license. Without the registration certificate, one cannot practice nursing in the hospitals of the state. The candidates need to register themselves before the KSNC Last Date of the registration.

Karnataka State Nursing Council registration has to be renewed every 5 years ( as per norms it is needed for those who are working in the Karnataka State). The candidates need to take the Karnataka Nursing Council Appointment for Registration beforehand. For renewal, it demands a current working certificate, proof of continuing education, or in-service education along with the application. Please Note- The Renewal of registration is applicable only for those who are working in Karanataka. If you are an overseas candidate in need of a valid parent registration for the registration purpose abroad, you can get it done by submitting a copy of the visa, passport, and current working/experience certificate.

Step by Step Process to Karnataka Nursing Council Registration Online

Creating an account

KNC has simple and easy to use the website to complete the registration process online. The first step for this process is to create an online account with the Karnataka Nursing Council. When you click on the online registration, it will lead you to fill up the basic information form.

Please note, if you are a KNC registered member and you do not have an online account then mention your first or permanent registration number. New KNC members should leave the first registration number box empty and complete the online registration.

After submitting the registration form for an online account, an email will be sent to you to verify the account and complete the registration process. In addition, updates, notifications and OTP of your applications and appointments for various KNC services also will be sent to your email or via SMS to your mobile phone from KNC. Therefore, ensure to provide a valid email ID and mobile number for KNC online registration.

Login into “Nurse Login”

After creating an online account using your email ID as username, your mobile number should be the initial password for you to login. Before clicking the login, do not forget to enter a case sensitive captcha for security reasons.
Once you agree with the Indian Nursing Council’s Code of Nursing Ethics, you will get a lifetime account with KNC. Subsequently, change your password, and it is a must for security reasons. Your new password should have at least six characters with a special character. Remember, your old password was your mobile number.

The Document Section

You can choose the service you are looking for from the Karnataka Nursing Council. To apply for the service, you should first select the service from the drop-down list and upload the relevant supporting documents online. The payment section will be activated after uploading the relevant documents for your KNC application.

Payment Section

Select the KNC service you have applied for from the dropdown list and add the appropriate fee for your selected KNC service. In the payment section, you can choose card payment or internet banking, which is suitable for you. After making the payment, you are directed to the KNC appointment schedule page.

Appointment Booking

Karnataka Nursing Council Appointment for Registration has two counters for serving the nurses. After selecting the counter, you can check and choose the available date and time for KNC appointment booking.

Complete the Booking

After selecting the time a pop-up will appear, and you should complete the form. Once the form is submitted, you will get an OTP on your mobile and email to verify the activity. Your appointment confirmation and your appointment ID will be sent to your mobile number and email id for further reference.

Download the Receipt

Once the booking is confirmed, you will be directed to the receipt page. From this receipt page, you should take the print out of your Receipt and Application form for the services you have booked the Karnataka Nursing Council Appointment. Bring these printouts with you to submit at the time of KNC appointment. It is mandatory by Karnataka Nursing Council to submit the booking appointment receipt at the time of final verification.

Documents for KNC Registration

Provisional Degree Certificate, Course Completion Certificate, Four years Mark Lists, Plus two Certificate/ Higher Secondary Certificate, SSLC / 10th Certificate, Two Passport size photographs. If you can submit the attested copies of your certificates and your photographs with application number at the back each would be an advantage for you. Admissions 2020

The Karnataka Nursing Council announces the official dates for the admissions into various nursing courses in the state. The council also decides the minimum eligibility criteria for various courses. However, the entrance exam and merit list is taken care of by a different board. The Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board releases the merit list and conducts the counseling for various nursing courses in the state. The application form is available on the official website of the Nursing Examination Board. Candidates need to check the eligibility criteria before applying for any course on the KSNC Website and read the proforma very carefully.
