HPCET 2020: Himachal Pradesh Technical University conducts the HPCET exam for the selection of the students in engineering courses. Admission is taken into consideration for both the lateral entry and degree courses. Candidates can fill the HPCET Application Form in an online mode. HPCET 2020 Entrance exam will take place in an offline mode i.e pen and paper. Exam duration will be of 3 hrs which will consist of 3 subjects i.e Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. HPCET 2020 Exam Dates
Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test 2020: The engineering aspirants who wish to take admission in the engineering colleges/ institutes affiliated to HIMTU have to take HPCET Exam 2020. HPCET stands for Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test. It is a common examination conducted for B. Tech and M. Tech. The candidate will be required to first fill the HP CET online application form 2020. Candidates must have a look at the HPCET dates given below in order to note the events and their respective dates.

HPCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must make sure that they fulfil all eligibility criteria laid down by the exam conducting authority. The HPCET eligibility criteria will be based on various parameters like age, nationality, educational qualification, etc. Candidates can check if they fit into all HPCET eligibility criteria which is given below.
- Nationality – The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Educational Qualification – He/she must have qualified class 12th from a recognized Board/ University
- Qualifying subjects – Candidate should have qualified with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.
- Qualifying Marks – Candidates belonging to the general category should have scored minimum 45% marks in aggregate while reserved category candidates should have scored at least 40% marks.
Thus for lateral entry and direct entry, candidates must be eligible as per their entry.
|B. Tech (Direct) for 4 years||The candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject securing at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken togethe|
|B. Tech (Lateral Entry) for 3 years||A. The candidate must have passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution; with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology.|
B. Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 standard with Mathematics as a subject.
C. Provided that in case of students belonging to B. Sc stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with the second year subjects.
D. Provided further that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
E. Provided further those students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE approved institution or B.Sc. degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering Degree Courses subject to vacancies in the first year class in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
F. Passed D. voc. Stream in the same or allied sector. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned in A, B, C, E and F above.
HPCET 2020 Application Form
All candidates who are going to appear for HPCET 2020 will be required to fill HPCET application form in the online mode. The application form will be released on the official website in the 1st week of March 2020. Candidates have to carefully fill up the application form with correct details. It is suggested that the information provided by each candidate should be in accordance with the documents possessed by the candidate.
The application form will be incomplete without payment of HPCET 2020 application fees. Applicants belonging to the ST, SC, and BPL category will be required to pay Rs. 1400 and those belonging to the general category will be required to pay Rs. 1550. This amount had to be paid through either the offline mode (PNB Challan) or through online mode (credit, debit card, net banking). Candidates are advised to submit their filled application form on or before the last given date.
HPCET 2020 Admit Card
The HPCET admit card 2020 will release in the 1st week of May 2020. Candidates who have filled and submitted the application form can download their hall ticket in an online mode. The HPCET admit card will act as a proof of identity of the candidate. Candidates will be required to download the admit card from the download link provided here (occur at the time of the event). The admit card will carry important information related to the examination like name and address of the exam venue, exam timings, photograph and signature of the candidate and other details. It is mandatory for candidates to carry HPCET admit card to the exam centre without which no candidate will be able to take the exam.

HPCET Answer Key 2020
The exam conducting authority will release the provisional and final answer key of HPCET 2020. The answer key will be published in an online mode on the official website. HPCET 2020 answer key will carry all correct answers to questions asked in the examination. With the help of the HPCET answer key, candidates will not only know the correct answers but will also be able to calculate their probable score of the exam. HPCET Result 2020
Candidates who will take the Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test will be able to view and download their HPCET result in the month of May 2020. HIMTU, which is also the exam conducting body will announce HPCET result in an online mode. The result will reflect the performance of each candidate in the examination. HPCET Merit List 2020
After the announcement of the result, the admission authority will release the HPCET 2020 merit list. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the HPCET exam. While making the list other factors are also taken into consideration such as category, institution seat availability, etc. There will be a separate list for the JEE Main Candidates and HP CET qualified candidates. Thus seat allotment will take place as per the merit list.
