NTA JEE Main – National Testing Agency which is abbreviated to NTA will now be conducting the NTA JEE Main. Joint Entrance Examination Main will be held from 6th -20th January 2019. NTA JEE Main

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is conducted for admission of candidates into B.E./B.Tech. course available in different engineering colleges of India. The HRD Ministry has announced that National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NTA JEE Main in two sessions: January and April 2019. The candidate who qualifies the exam can take admission into 18 IIITs, 19 GFTIs and 32 NITs whereas if a candidate is desiring to take admission in ISM or IIT then he/she has to qualify JEE Advanced. Candidates who will qualify NTA JEE Main 2019 can only take JEE Advanced 2019 examination. A candidate can appear in NTA JEE Main Entrance Exam only 2 times.

What is NTA?

National Testing Agency (NTA) was approved by the Union Cabinet in November 2017 as an Autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational Institutions. The NTA is aimed to bring a qualitative difference in the examination process by its focus on research and scientific test design using services of Experts, Researchers, Statisticians, Psychometricians, Test Item Writers and Education Specialists. The item writers would be trained to ensure that the quality of questions is as per the test design. The experts, statisticians and item writers/subject matter experts are already identified for being inducted into NTA.

NTA JEE Main 2019 Highlights

  1. NTA 2019 JEE Main will be conducted first on January 2019 and then on April 2019.
  2. There will be No change in exam pattern, syllabus, languages, and examination fee (Read Below)
  3. Official website of NTA is nta.ac.in.
  4. You can appear for both the exams or any one.
  5. Your best score out of the two exams will be considered.

Functions of NTA

  • To identify partner institutions with adequate infrastructure from the existing schools and higher education institutions which would facilitate conduct of online examinations like JEE Main, NEET, NET & Others without adversely impacting their academic routine.
  • To create a question bank for all subjects using the modern techniques
  • To establish a strong R&D culture as well as a pool of experts in different aspects of testing
  • To help individual colleges and universities in the field of testing and to provide training and advisory services to the institutions in India. To provide quality testing services to the academic institutions in India.
  • To develop a state of the art culture of testing in India by using domestic and international expertise. To collaborate with international organizations like ETS to achieve the same.
  • To undertake any other examination that is entrusted to it by the Ministries/Departments of Government of India/State Governments.
  • To undertake the reforms and training of school boards as well as other bodies where the testing standards should be comparable with the entrance examinations.
