WBJEE Exam Pattern 2019

WBJEE Exam Pattern 2019: The West Bengal board has released WBJEE exam pattern 2019 in the WBJEE exam brochure 2019. Candidates can check the exam pattern of WBJEE 2019 that will contain information about the exam like the mode and duration of WBJEE Exam and other related information about WBJEE 2019 question paper. WBJEE 2019 exam pattern must be noted down for better preparation of the exam.

Check the WBJEE exam pattern listed below:

  • WBJEE 2019 will be conducted offline in the pen and paper mode (OMR based)
  • There will be three categories of questions in each of the subjects.
  • There will be multiple choice questions.
  • Questions will be based on 3 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Maths divided into 3 categories.
  • 1 mark will be given for every correct answer in Category 1 and 2 marks will be allotted for each correct response in Category 2 and 3.
  • 1/4th mark will be deducted for each incorrect response in Category I and II. There is no negative marking for Category 3.

Candidates will be required to appear for 2 papers for WBJEE 2019. Paper 1 will be conducted only for mathematics. Paper 2 will be held for Physics and chemistry combined. Candidates appearing for both the papers and who qualify the exam will be eligible for admission to the courses like engineering, technology, pharmacy and architecture in all the institutes.

Please note that aspirants who opt for paper 2 only and qualify the exam with a rank, will be eligible for admission to only the pharmacy courses except in Jadavpur University.

WBJEE 2019 Marking Scheme

WBJEE Marking Scheme 2019: The WBJEE marking scheme for the academic session of 2019-20 is expected to remain the same as in previous years. Candidates can check the marking scheme and prepare for the exam accordingly.

  • In category 1, only one answer is correct.

Category I

  • For every correct answer: +1 marks
  • For every wrong answer: -0.25 marks

Category II

  • For every correct answer: +2 marks
  • For every wrong answer: -0.25 marks

Category III

  • For every correct answer: +2 marks
  • For every wrong answer: 0 marks

Do’s and Don’t for WBJEE 2019

  1. You must follow only the correct method to fill the OMR response sheet handed over to you.
  2. Candidate must fill the circles of the answer options with either blue or black ball point pen.
  3. Any other kind of marking e.g. filling the bubble incompletely, filling with pencil, cross mark, tick mark, dot mark, circular mark, over writing, scratching, erasing, white ink, marking outside the bubble etc. may lead to wrong/partial/ambiguous reading of the response.
  4. No student will be allowed to modify/edit any response that he/she has marked so the candidate must think twice before filling up the answer circle.
