Vellore Institute of Technology also known as the VIT University conducts its own examination called the VITEEE or Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination. VIT University is a Private deemed university institute located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. All the candidates who want admission in VIT in courses like Engineering, Applied Science and Management can take the exam. The exam is conducted in an online computer-based mode as it has been conducted from the year 2013. Students are admitted to VIT on the basis of the merit of the online entrance examination. VITEEE is conducted every year in the month of April and May and lakhs of candidates take this examination and thousands of them qualify it. About VITEEE 2018 Exam
VITEEE is a University level examination conducted by the VIT University. Through this examination, candidates will be given admission to four year B. Tech programme in the campuses of Vellore and Chennai. For the academic session of 2018-19, all the aspiring candidates have to fill the application form of the examination that has been released online and offline on the official website on 1st November 2018. The last date to fill and submit the application form is 18th March 2018.
The exam will be conducted in online computer-based mode from 4th April to 15th April 2018 in 3 sessions every day. Mock Test for VITEEE 2018 is now available online for candidates to understand the exam pattern and practice the question paper. VIT University will offer 20 B. Tech programmes to its students that will be offered at VIT Campuses of Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati, and Bhopal. The exam will be conducted in multiple slots across 124 cities and candidates have to book a slot to take the examination. All those who have booked the slots will be issued an admit card and the results of the same will be announced somewhere around April 25th, 2018. Candidates who qualify the examination will be called for counselling that will be held in 2 sessions. Changes In VITEEE 2018
- The fees for offline application form of VITEEE 2018 has been increased from Rs 999 to Rs 1200/- (inclusive of GST). The online application form has been increased to Rs 1150 (inclusive of GST) from Rs. 970.
- Last year, VITEEE was held in 119 test centers in India and Abroad. This year VITEEE will be conducted in 124 test cities in India and Abroad.
- The offline application form will be available at 4 VIT University campuses.

VITEEE 2018 Mock Test
The mock test for VITEEE 2018 has been made available online on 6th January 2018. The mock test is released by the exam conducting authority to give the candidates a prior knowledge of how to take the computer-based test. Taking the mock test also helps the candidate to have an experience of online exam environment. It makes him/her have the information about the exam pattern and how to answer the questions. The mock test will be held for 2 hours 30 minutes covering all questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and English. Candidates can take the mock test irrespective of whether they have registered for the examination or not.
Eligibility Criteria of VITEEE 2018 – Age, Domicile, Educational
All candidates appearing in the exam must know all the rules set by the exam conducting authority that are mandatory in order to be eligible for the exam. These are the eligibility criteria based on certain parameters like age, nationality, educational qualification. Aspiring candidates must make sure that they meet all the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form.
The VITEEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria is given below:
- Nationality – All Indian, Non-Resident Indians candidates, Person of Indian Origin and OCI holders can apply for the exam.
- Age – Candidate applying should be born on or after July 1, 1996.
- Educational Qualification
- Candidates who have passed or are appearing in 10+2 from CBSE, ISCE or any recognized state board are eligible to apply.
- Candidates from Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
- Aspirants who have passed High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- Candidates who have passed the General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- As per the norms of VIT, NIOS candidates are eligible to appear for the VITEEE-2018. They should have a migration cum transfer certificate at the time of Joining.
- Qualification Criteria – Candidates belonging to the general category should have scored an aggregate of 60% in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry in 10+2. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, J&K and North Eastern States should have scored at least 50% marks in Physics, Maths, and Chemistry in 10+2 or its equivalent exam.
VITEEE 2018 Application Form – Registration Process
The VITEEE 2018 Application form is now available in both online (on the official VIT website) and in offline mode (in the 4 VIT Campuses). The forms have been made available for all the aspiring candidates to fill from November 1 and 9, 2018. The last date to fill and submit the application form is March 18, 2018.
For online Application of VITEEE 2018, form candidates have to first register themselves with a valid email ID and mobile number. A password will be generated and using the login id and password, the applicant has to fill up important personal and academic information as asked. All applicants have to pay the requisite application fees of Rs 1150 through debit/credit card or net banking.
For offline application form of VITEEE 2018, the candidate has to appear in person and take the form from the Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal or Amaravati campus and buy the form through demand draft of Rs. 1200 (inclusive of GST) in favor of “VIT University” payable at Vellore. Applicant has to fill the OMR application form for the exam and affix a photograph in the space earmarked for it and do the mandatory signature. After filling up the form, the candidate has to send it in the envelope provided with the application. After posting the application, candidates will receive an SMS regarding the receipt of the application form.
VITEEE Exam Centers 2018 – Complete List
While filling up the application form, candidates have to fill up the exam centers i.e. the venues that they want to take the exam in. VITEEE 2018 will be conducted in 124 cities in India and Abroad. Last year VITEEE was conducted in 119 exam centers in India and Abroad. Candidates have to confirm their choices of exam centers while booking the slot for the exam without which they will not be allowed to take the exam. The choice filling of exam centers and slot booking will be done online only. Candidates are advised to book the slot as soon as it is made available in real-time. Candidates can choose at least 2 exam centers from the list of exam centers provided.

Exam Pattern of VITEEE 2018 – Marking Scheme
One of the most important elements of any examination is its exam pattern. The exam pattern includes the mode in which the exam is conducted, the marking scheme, duration of the exam, the number of questions, etc. Candidates must make sure to go through the exam pattern of VITEEE 2018 listed below to have a thorough knowledge about the exam before taking it.
- VITEEE 2018 will be conducted in 3 sessions daily from April 4 to April 15, 2018.
- The exam will be held for 2 hours 30 minutes.
- There will be total 125 questions in the VITEEE question paper.
- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics have 40 questions each and English will have 5.
- Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Candidates will also be tested on their grasp of English.
- 1 mark will be awarded to each correct answer and there will be no negative marking.

Slot Booking for VITEEE 2018
VITEEE 2018 will be conducted in 3 sessions daily from April 4 to April 15, 2018. For this purpose, candidates have to book a slot. VITEEE 2018 slot booking was made available from 21st March 2018 and is now closed. Candidates have to book their slot, date and time to take the exam. Slot booking will be on a real-time basis and will be given on the first-come-first-served basis. The slot booking is also important for the candidate to download his/her admit card as the chosen slot will be printed on the admit card of the candidate with other details.
VITEEE 2018 Admit Card
The VITEEE 2018 Admit Card has been made available online ifrom 23rd March 2018. The admit card is also known as the hall ticket and is considered as one of the most important documents that a candidate must carry to the exam hall. The admit card of VITEEE will be issued online only for those candidates who have registered themselves for the exam and have booked a slot. Candidates have to log in to their account to view and download the e-admit card. The admit card has to be printed on A-4 size sheet and has to be carried to the exam center as it will contain essential information like the exam roll number of the candidate, his/her name, and signature, exam centers allotted and its details, the date, time and day of the exam. In case there are any discrepancies in the admit card, candidates must report it to VIT immediately. The Hall ticket will also be sent to the registered ID of the candidate. Candidate must carry the admit card, a photocopy of the application fees and any of the identity proof to the exam hall.
Cut-off of VITEEE 2018
The cut-off refers to the minimum marks required to qualify an examination. The cut-off is also released in the form of an opening and closing rank. All those candidates who score the marks equal to or more than the cut-off or whose marks range in between the closing and opening rank are called for counselling and seat allotment procedure.
Vellore Institute of Technology releases the cut-off in the form of closing rank. Candidates must obtain the VITEEE 2018 closing rank to be eligible for admission to B. Tech courses. The VITEEE 2018 closing rank will be provided here as soon as it is released.
VITEEE 2018 Results
VIT has declared the results for VITEEE 2018 in online mode on 26th April 2018. The results will be announced only for those candidates who have taken the examination. Applicants have to log in to their account with application number and Date of birth to view the result. The result will be released in the form of a scorecard and will contain the scores obtained by the candidate in the exam and the rank secured by him. The rank obtained by the candidate will also be sent to the registered email-ID of the candidate. Based on the rank, a merit list will be prepared and candidates will be called for counselling and seat allotment procedure based on the merit list.
Equipercentile Equating Method will be used by the VIT university to calculate the result of each candidate. This is a statistical method, where the scores of the candidate are adjusted on test forms. These scores are then taken from different test forms to make a comparison to prepare the merit list and ranking of the candidate. With this method, the percentile rank of the candidates is identified where scores on different forms with same percentile rank are considered as equal.
Counselling of VITEEE 2018
After the exam results have been announced, the counselling procedure for the eligible candidates will begin. VITEEE 2018 counselling will begin from 2nd week of May 2018. The counselling will be held in two phases in offline mode. It is mandatory for the candidate to attend the counselling session and the information of the same will be sent through to SMS and email. Candidates will be required to choose the course and college branch from the list provided at the Counselling center. If the candidate fails to attend the Counselling of VITEEE 2018, his/her candidature will be automatically canceled. Eligible candidates have to bring the required documents for document verification. Seats will be alloted only after the verification. Candidates also have to make a payment of the tuition fees of Rs 50,000 has to be done by demand draft drawn in favor of ‘VIT University’ payable at Vellore.
