The National Testing Agency that has been set up as an autonomous body to conduct national level examinations like JEE Main and NEET twice a year will be set up around 3,000 test centers for all the candidates who are going to take the online computer based tests in January and April session of 2019. These test centers will be set up in schools, colleges, and other institutes that have registered with NTA to be a part of the test practice center list.
National Testing Agency will start with NTA practice test from the month of August 2019. Candidates who wish to take the test will be able to do so by reporting to these centers with the required documents. The NTA Practice test will be free of cost and the centers will also be set up in rural areas for the ease of rural area candidates.
Students will be able to take the practice test on Saturdays and Sundays. One hour will be allotted to each candidate to experience how to sit for a real-time computer-based examination. This move by the NTA to make practice tests available for all the candidates will prove beneficial for all students who haven’t taken the computer-based exam before.
HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar had announced in a press conference in July that there will be no changes in the exam pattern and syllabus of JEE Main and NEET 2019. However, taking the exam will be difficult for medical students of NEET as the exam was earlier conducted only in the offline pen and paper-based mode. Keeping this in mind, the NTA will be making the practice test available from August 2018.
The NTA will launch a mobile application for the candidates to locate the practice test centers near them and register for the same through the app. All updated information will be provided here as soon as the official information is released by the exam conducting authority NTA.
