Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU OET) is an online entrance exam conducted by the Manipal University. It is a University level examination conducted for admission to various undergraduate and post-graduate courses like engineering, pharmacy, applied science and many other courses offered by institutions winged under Manipal University. All those students who wish to take admission in the Manipal University can apply for the exam and must take the MU OET 2018. About MU OET 2018

The application form for MU OET was available on the official website in the online mode and the last date to fill the same had been extended to 10th April 2018. Manipal University had conducted the exam from 4th week of April to 2nd week of May 2018 across 50  cities in India. Candidates could take the exam 3 times in total. Students had to book a slot for the exam and only those who had registered themselves and booked a slot were issued an MU OET 2018 Admit Card. The results of the entrance test were declared on 16th May 2018 for those who had taken the examination. Candidates who qualify the examination will be called for counselling and seat allotment procedure.

MU OET 2018 Counselling Procedure, Seat Alottment

After the declaration of entrance exam results, the counselling procedure begins. The counselling was scheduled from 28th May 2018 to 6th June 2018. All those candidates whose names are there on the merit list were called for counselling and seat allotment procedure. Counselling for MU OET 2018 was held in offline mode. Candidates had to report to the counselling venue in person. They had to carry all the important documents for verification. Every candidate had to register at the counselling venue and select the preferred course and college. Seats will be allocated to the candidate based on this choice made by the candidate after the documents have been verified by the concerned authority. A counselling fee had to be paid at the time of counselling. Candidates were then given a seat allotment letter and the receipt which they will carry to the allotted institute to confirm the admission.

Counselling Fees

Candidates had to pay the registration and counselling fees at the time of registration. The fees had to be paid through demand draft drawn in favor of “Manipal Academy of Higher Education” payable at Manipal or Udupi. There is no other method to pay this amount. Results Of MU OET 2018

The results of the entrance test have been announced online on 16th May 2018. To view and download the results all the candidates who have taken the exam have to log in to their individual account using the application number and password/ date of birth (as asked). The result will carry the scores obtained by the candidate in the exam as well as the All India Rank (AIR) of the candidate. Using the result, a merit list will be prepared. The result/ rank of the candidate will determine whether a candidate gets admission in the participating institutes of MU OET 2018. Please note that the results will only be available for those candidates who have taken the exam and the scorecard will not be sent to the candidate individually.

Eligibility Criteria For MU OET 2018 – Age,Educational

Aspirants who are planning to pursue engineering at Manipal university must first go through all the eligibility criteria and only then fill up the application form. The eligibility criteria are a set of conditions laid down by the exam conducting authority that are based on certain parameters like age, nationality, education qualification, etc. Candidates can check the list of eligibility criteria for MU OET 2018 given below:

  • Candidate must be an Indian National.
  • He/she should have passed their 10+2/ A-level/ IB, American 12th grade from a recognized Board or University.
  • Candidate should have secured at least 50% marks Physics, Mathematics and either of the vocational subjects mentioned below.
  • Candidates must have taken Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects with either Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology or any technical vocational subject as optional.
  • In the entrance exam of MU OET 2018 candidates must score 50%.

MU OET 2018 Application Form – Available Now

The last date to apply for MU-OET 2018 was extended until 10th April. Online application form for MU OET 2018 was available on the official website of Manipal University/. Applicants can check the eligibility criteria and fill up the application form which was released on 17th October 2017. Candidates have to first register themselves to fill the application form. Applicants will be required to provide necessary information like personal details and academic details. Candidates have to then select the exam center and course for which they are applying and pay the requisite application fee. Applicants had to pay a fee of Rs 2000 (application fee + exam Fee) through either credit/ debit card or net banking or through a demand draft. Please note that the application fees is same for all category and non-category candidates. Lastly, all applicants will be required to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature to the correct specification and send the printed application form to The Director, Admissions, Manipal University, Manipal – 576104.

MU OET 2018 Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme

Candidates appearing for the exam for the academic session of 2018-19 must have a thorough look at the exam pattern of Manipal University Online Entrance Test. Exam pattern usually includes the mode of exam, number of questions, duration of the exam, the marking scheme, etc. For the ease of candidates taking the exam this year, we have provided the MU OET exam pattern here.

  • The exam will be conducted in an online computer-based mode where candidates have to sit in front of a computer and mark the answers.
  • MU OET 2018 will be conducted for 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • There will be objective type and multiple type questions.
  • The question paper will have a total of 200 questions where the questions will be distributed as follows: physics – 50, chemistry – 50, mathematics – 70 and English + general aptitude – 30.
  • 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and there will be no provision of negative marking.

Subject Wise Syllabus of MU OET 2018

To begin with the preparations of MU OET 2018, candidates must check the syllabus of all the subjects thoroughly. This will help them collect the correct study material and obtain the best results in the examination. Candidates can check and download the official MU OET 2018 syllabus from www.admissions.manipal.edu.

MU OET 2018 Slot Booking

All the candidates who had registered for the examination also have to book a slot before the admit card is issued. Slot booking had been made available from 31st March 2018. It is only after the candidates have booked a slot from the available slots, the exam conducting authority will issue the admit card of the candidate. The slot booking for the exam will be done through Online Test Booking System (OTBS) in three attempts. The slots will include the date and time to take the exam and will be chosen by the candidate according to his/her preference. Once the slot has been chosen and confirmed, no changes can be made to it.

Admit Card / Hall Ticket of MU OET 2018

After the slot booking process is over, Manipal University issues the admit card of candidates. The MU-OET 2018 Hall ticket had been issued from 31st March 2018. After 24 hours of slot booking, candidates will be able to download their hall ticket. An admit card is one of the most important documents that a candidate must carry to the exam center on the day of the exam. The Admit card holds an important value as it carries essential information like the name of the candidate, his/her roll number, photograph and signature and most importantly the exam center details and exam timings and day. It is mandatory for the candidate to take the hall ticket to the exam center as the absence of it will debar the candidate from taking the exam.

Cut-Off of MU OET 2018

The concerned authorities will prepare the cut-off for MU OET. The cut-off refers to the minimum qualifying marks that the candidate must obtain in order to be eligible for admission. The cut-off sometimes also refers to opening and closing rank and candidates must obtain a rank that falls between the opening and closing rank. Based on the cut-off candidates will be offered admissions to the preferred courses. The cut-off is prepared keeping in mind certain factors like the number of candidates who have taken the exam, previous year’s cut-off, number of seats available, etc.
