Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET/ Kar CET) is a state level entrance exam which is organised and conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority. How to Prepare for KCET 2019

This article will guide the aspirants who are going to sit for the KCET 2019 exam on how to prepare and improve performance in the examination. Preparation for the KCET exam is not easy therefore we have made a list of tips that candidates must follow in order to secure a good rank.

Tip 1:- Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Candidates are advised to be well acquainted with KCET 2019 exam pattern and syllabus in order to make the preparation more effective. Exam pattern of KCET gives the Candidates an idea about the mode of exam, duration, subjects, questions asked from each section and marking scheme. Also, read the syllabus of KCET 2019 carefully.

Tip 2:- Study Material

Study materials for your preparation play vital role in the examination. Choose the most appropriate books for your preparation. Candidate can refer to some of the books enlisted below:-

  • Karnataka CET explorer Engineering.
  • CET medical entrance – Karnataka Common Entrance Test:14 years solved papers (2000- 2013) 3rd
  • Pradeep’s Fundamental Physics (Class-XII) (SET OF 2 VOLS).
  • Modern’s ABC of chemistry, part 1 and part 2.
  • Pradeep’s new course chemistry (class-XII) (SET OF 2 VOLS).
  • Physics for Karnataka CET and COMEDK.
  • Biology for Karnataka CET and COMEDK.
  • Karnataka CET – explorer medical.
  • 15 years (2002-2017) solved papers of Karnataka CET Engineering Entrance 2018.

Tip 3:- Previous Year Question Papers

Completing your syllabus is just not enough for the preparations, you should also have a look at the previous year question papers which are equally important to solve. By solving the question papers you will get an idea about the exam pattern, level of difficulty and will be able to keep a track of your preparation level. Practicing the KCET sample papers will help candidates in recognizing and working on their weak areas. Each aspirant is advised to solve previous years question papers of KCET and also sample papers.

Tip 4:- Mock Test

It is better to practice a test or mock test as per the test timing. For example, if the exam is conducted between 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, then practice by giving online tests during that time so you will get acquainted with the atmosphere of duration and your own exam speed. Aspirants are advised not only to divide their subjects as per the syllabus but divide the internal units as well. For example, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, all these subjects has divisions in topics. Some divisions are more important than the others. Candidates need to identify which units have regularly appeared in the exam. This task can be achieved by solving the previous year question paper and mock test. One can practice these mock tests available online and in books.

Tip 5:- Make Your Own Notes

Reading a number of books will only prove worthy if a student has understood them. To prepare for KCET 2019 examination, one must make short notes too. Make a note on every page with important points written on the top of the page or stick a colour note. Aspirants are advised to note down their points in the notebooks in proper order as it will be helpful for revision.
