JEE Main 2020 Changes: NTA has released the information brochure for the JEE Main 2020 January session. This time the agency has come up with a lot of changes in the exam procedure. Candidates who are preparing for the exam must be aware of the changes made by the National Testing Agency, the conducting body of the JEE main exam. There are basically five major changes in JEE Main that have been done. The list are as follows:

JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Planning) Eligibility Changed

In JEE Main Brochure, NTA has stated that the science is no longer the eligibility criteria for the students who want to appear for B.Planning courses. Earlier science was the main criterion for B.Planning but now it is narrowed down to Mathematics. It means that the candidates who have mathematics in XIIth ( Not necessary to have science stream) can apply for the B.Planning under JEE Main.

JEE Main Revised (New) Application Fee

As compared to previous year i.e 2019 there is increase in the application fee. Students who are going to fill the form must know about the application charges as per the gender and country-wise i.e India and Outside India. Check the latest application fee from the table given below:

Changes in JEE Main 2020: Exam Pattern, Application Fee, Types of Question 

JEE Main Payment Mode Changed

After filling the JEE Main application form candidates have to pay the application fee. Earlier there were two types of payment mode i.e Offline (e-challan) and online mode. But now the candidates have to pay the JEE Main application fee in an online mode only. The mode of payment includes Credit card/Debit card/Net banking/UPI and PAYTM. Mind that UPI and PAYTM is the new mode of payment.  The charges as per the transaction are given below:

One of the major changes in the JEE Main 2020 is JEE Main exam pattern. Earlier there were 30 questions in each subject which constitute 4 marks each and all the questions were of MCQ format. This means 90 questions which have the value of the total 360 marks. Check – JEE Main Colleges Rank Wise

But now there will be 25 questions in each section out of which 20 questions will be in MCQ format and 5 questions have to be answered in numerical value. It means for the five questions there will be no options and candidates have to solve the question and write the answer in the blank space.

JEE Main Photo Format (Without Name & Date)

Earlier candidates have to upload their photo having name and date on it. But now for JEE Main 2020 Photograph, it is not required to mention name and date in the photograph. Check the specification about the photograph and signature.
