Check Eligibility For NTA JEE Main Exam
Currently, the most important talk of the town is whether or not NTA is going to take over JEE Main from 2019 onwards. Yes, the national Testing Agency has been successfully formed and recently it’s Director General has been appointed. The former chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Vineet Joshi, is the first Director-General (DG) of NTA. He will have a tenure of 5 Years. With the DG being appointed, everyone is keen to know whether or not NTA will take charge from 2019.
Union minister for human resource development, Prakash Javadekar, told TOI, that barring the board examinations (class X and XII), rest of the examinations conducted by the CBSE will be taken over by the NTA in phased manner. The aim is to bring in high reliability, standardised difficulty level for assessing the aptitude, intelligence and problem-solving abilities of students.
According to some trusted source, NTA will conduct JEE Main 2019. A budget of Rs. 25 Crore has been allotted to NTA to start functioning. So the possibility is it will start its role as a conducting body of many major competitive exams from 2019. There are minor changes that NTA will introduce in the way all the examinations were conducted till date. These changes have been confirmed by an official notice.
The first change that NTA is going to make is in the mode of exam. All the examination conducted by NTA will be in online mode only and NTA will take charge of all those examinations that are being conducted by CBSE till date, which includes JEE Main and NEET (UG). Gradually, in the long run, all national level entrance examination will be conducted by NTA.
Although these changes are expected in JEE Main if NTA becomes its conducting body. Although many experts claim that there may be few changes in the exam pattern — More concept based questions may be introduced, there may be short answer type questions included and syllabus may undergo certain changes.
But these are all predictions and speculations. Until any official announcement, candidates must follow and continue with the old pattern and syllabus. If any changes are being made then NTA will officially announce much before the entrance exam. So, as the candidates do not feel pressurised at the last moment.
Many reports claim that NTA will come into effect form next year and will release the official JEE Main 2019 Notification.
