Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) Kerala will conduct the admission and counselling procedure. However, those who want to opt for MBBS will be granted the admission based on the NEET score. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a national level medical examination conducted for MBBS and BDS courses. Aspiring candidates must note that there is no entrance examination that will be conducted for admission to the participating medical colleges. The pre-requisite to participate in Kerala MBBS admissions 2018 is to appear for the NEET 2018. Kerala MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria
Prior to filling up the application form, candidates must make sure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria are conditions laid down by the exam conducting authority based on certain parameters like age, qualification, nativity and educational qualification. CEE, Kerala has laid down certain eligibility criteria. Interested candidates can have a look at them below:
- Candidates belonging to the Kerala origin or those who have studied in Kerala will be eligible for admission to the MBBS courses. These candidates will be eligible under 85% state quota.
- The candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology (PCB) in Class 12th with at least 50% (40% for SC/ST category and 45% for SEBC) in aggregate. Along with that, candidates must have scored at least 50% (45% for SEBC) in Biology/Biotechnology in Class 12th.
- Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2018.
- In order to be eligible for admissions, the candidate must have qualified the NEET 2018 and should have secured the cut-off score. They should have obtained at least 50 percentile (40% in case of ST/SC and 45% in case of general PH category).
Kerala MBBS Admission Registration Form
Candidates who are planning to seek admission in MBBS courses offered in the medical colleges of Kerala will have to first fill the online registration form. The Kerela MBBS Admission application form available from 7th May 2018 to 12th May 2018. The last date to send the application form is 16th May 2018. Applicants have to first go to the official website, fill up the registration form and then send a print out of the same to Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, 5th Floor, Housing Board Buildings, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001. Apart from filling up the application form, candidates will also be required to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and left-hand thumb-impression.
Candidates who have already submitted application for admission to Medical & Allied courses
under KEAM 2018 and who have qualified in the NEET (UG)-2018 conducted by the CBSE have to
follow the steps below for online submission of NEET results to the Commissioner for Entrance
Examinations.
i) Click on “Kerela MBBS Admission 2018” link.
ii) Click the link ‘KEAM 2018-Candidate Portal’ and provide KEAM-2018 Application number and
Password to enter the Home Page of the candidate.
iii)Click the Menu Item ‘NEET Result Submission’ and provide NEET (UG)-2018 Roll Number,
NEET (UG)-2018 Application Number and KEAM-2018 Date of Birth.
iv) Verify the Photograph, Name, NEET (UG)-2018 score, NEET All India Rank etc. shown in the
web page.
v) If the details are correct, click the ‘Verified and Submit’ button.
(Note:- The procedure of submission of NEET result will be complete only when the ‘Verified
and Submit’ button is clicked.)
vi) Take the printout of ‘NEET Result Submission Report’ and keep it with the candidate for
future use.
Candidates should not send/upload the NEET Result Sheet or NEET Result Submission Report to
the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
II. Candidates who have not chosen ‘Medical Courses’ in the KEAM-2018 Application
Candidates who have already submitted application for admission to any of the courses such
as Engineering/Architecture/Pharmacy through KEAM-2018 and forgot to choose Medical courses
in their application can add the Medical courses to the existing application and then submit the
NEET (UG)-2018 result by following the steps below:
i)Click on “Kerela MBBS Admission 2018” link.
ii) Click the link ‘KEAM 2018-Candidate Portal’ and provide KEAM Application number and
Password to enter the Home Page of the candidate.
iii) Click the Menu Item ‘Add Course’ and choose Medical courses.
(Note:- Only candidates belonging to ‘Keralite’ and ‘Non-Keralite-I(NK-I)’ category can
choose Medical courses.)
iv) After adding the Medical course, click the Menu item ‘NEET Result Submission’ in the Home
page and provide NEET (UG)-2018 Roll Number, NEET (UG)-2018 Application Number and
KEAM-2018 Date of Birth.
v) Verify the Photograph, Name, NEET (UG)-2018 score, NEET All India Rank etc. shown in the
web page.
vi) If the details are correct, click the ‘Verified and Submit’ button.
(Note:- The procedure of submission of NEET result will be complete only when the
‘Verified and Submit’ button is clicked.)
vii) Take the printout of ‘NEET Result Submission Report’ and keep it with the candidate for
future use.
The Kerala MBBS 2018 Application Form will be considered incomplete without the payment of the application fee. Candidates belonging to the general category will be required to pay Rs.500 and SC category candidates have to pay Rs 200 as the application fee. Those belonging to the ST category have been exempted from paying the application fee. The application fees have to be paid by credit card, debit card, net banking or e-challan. Candidates must make sure they affix their photograph of 3.5 x 4.5 cm size same as the photograph uploaded on the online application duly attested by the Head of the Institution which he/she studied last or by a Gazetted Officer. He/she has to send the application along with other relevant documents before the last date of Submission.
Kerala MBBS Merit List
CEE, Kerala will release the merit list for all the candidates based on the NEET UG 2018 score and the nativity conditions of the candidate as well as the eligibility criteria. Kerala MBBS merit list 2018 will give the candidates a “state rank” based on his/her UG score. Besides this, the merit list will contain the candidate’s roll number, the NEET 2018 score, and NEET 2018 rank. The concerned authority will also category wise merit list apart from the common merit list. Only those candidates who are listed on the merit list will be called for counselling and seat allotment procedure.
Counselling And Admissions
Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) Kerala will conduct the counselling for all the eligible candidates through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) which will begin from the 3rd week of July 2018. The counselling will begin after the release of state merit list. CEE Kerala will conduct the counselling for admission to the 85% state quota seats in the government medical colleges of Kerala state.
After the release of the state merit list, every candidate will have to register to enter their preferred courses and college in Kerala. CEE will then publish the result of a trial allotment before the period of online registration of options ends. This helps in giving an idea to the candidates about the college/course they are likely to be offered on the basis of priority of options entered by them in KEAM 2018 portal and change the same in case required. After the registration, candidates will not be allowed to make any changes in their choices. After this, the publication of the seat allotment result of first counselling round will take place. In case there are seats vacant in the first round of counselling, the second round of counselling will take place. A window will be made available for re-adjustments of options.
