Karnataka MBBS Admission 2018 will be conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). This is the same body that conducts the state level examination called Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). The Admission process will be conducted for all those candidates who want admission to the medical and dental colleges in the state of Karnataka. These colleges/institute will offer the undergraduate course of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Those who want to take part in the counselling procedure of Karnataka MBBS admissions 2018 need to first take the national level medical entrance examination – National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test or NEET. The NEET score will be considered for admission to the respective colleges. Please note that there will be no entrance test for this admission procedure conducted by the KEA.

About Karnataka MBBS Admission 2018

Candidates should note that the admission will be granted strictly on the basis of the NEET 2018 score. A certain percentage of state quota seats will be filled through the NEET 2018 score whereas admission to the rest of the seats will be granted through the MBBS admission procedure conducted by the state. Only after the results of NEET 2018 have been announced, the Karnataka admission procedure 2018 will begin.

The KEA, official MBBS counselling authority has released the notification related to MBBS Admission for the academic session 2018-19. The interested eligible candidates have to register online from on 15.06.2018 (4.00 pm) to 21.06.2018 (5.30 pm) by visiting KEA Website. Last date to pay the registration fees is 22.06.2018. Karnataka MBBS Admission 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Prior to applying for the admission procedure, candidates must make sure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria laid down by the exam conducting authority. The eligibility criteria are based on certain parameters like the age, nationality, and qualification. If ineligible candidates are found applying for the admission, their application is bound to be rejected at any point in time in the admission procedure. The general eligibility criteria are given below:

  1. The candidate should be an Indian National. OCI card holders may also apply.
  2. Candidate should have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognized school board.
  3. Applicant must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks in PCB with English subjects. (40% for reserved category candidates)
  4. The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31st December 2018. The upper age limit is 25 years. However, 5 years of relaxation has been given to reserved category candidates.

Karnataka MBBS Admission 2018 Registration Form

The Karnataka MBBS 2018 Registration Form has released in online mode on 15th June 2018 and will be available until 22nd June 2018. Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) receives the merit list from CBSE, it will invite applications from candidates who want to take admissions in the affiliated colleges. All the candidates have to fill the application form online by registering themselves on the official website. Candidates must have a working email ID and phone number. After successful registration, the applicant will be required to log in again with the user ID to fill the academic details like NEET score, class 12th marks, and other details. The next step would be to upload the signature and photograph to the correct specifications. The next step is to pay the application fee. This fee can be paid only by the Bank Challan that will be generated by clicking on the option.

Karnataka MBBS Admission 2018 Admission procedure/ Counselling

The admission in the MBBS course will be offered through the score obtained by the candidate in NEET 2018. All the candidates should, therefore, make sure that they appear in the entrance exam. The counselling procedure for Karnataka MBBS 2018 admissions will begin in the month of July 2018. The counselling for the admission will be held in the offline mode and candidates have to be present physically. Here, the candidates will be asked to fill in the choice of their college. 85% of seats will be filled through the state medical authority that will conduct the counselling process.

Candidates must mandatorily appear for the seat allotment procedure. There will be three procedures involved in the counselling procedure – The document verification, option entry, and allotment of seats.

During document verification, candidates will be required to bring along the below-given list of documents. Failing to produce the correct document will lead to cancellation of the application of the candidates. Check the list of documents to be brought here:
