National Institute of Design (NID): NID 2025 Application Form Correction has been started from 21st- 23rd February 2025 for B.Des. and M.Des. courses. NID is a statutory authority that awards its own degrees. It offers Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) of 4-year duration and Masters of Design (M.Des.) of a two-and-a-half-year duration. NID Vijayawada and NID Kurukshetra are independent autonomous institutes. They are set up under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. NID 2025 – Important Exam Dates

NID Eligibility Criteria

If a candidate wants to apply for the examination then it is important to meet the eligibility. Those who do not fulfil the required qualification then do not apply.  In other words, the concerned authority will not entertain the application of a non-eligible candidate. The eligibility criteria of NID is different for the different courses. Refer to the NID 2025 Notification so that you can get the information in detail. For Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and the Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD)

• Passed or will appear for Class 12th qualifying examinations in the academic year 2019-20 in any stream such as Science, Arts, Commerce, etc. from any recognized board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or equivalent.
• The age of a candidate should not be more than 20 Years. Those who were born on or after 1 July 2000 are eligible to apply for admission. However, candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall be eligible for age relaxation.

For Master of Design (M.Des.)

• The age of a candidate should not be more than 30 Years. Those who were born on or after 1 July 1990 are eligible to apply for admission. However, candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall be eligible for age relaxation.
• Completed Bachelor degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialization from any university or institute or
• Passed Bachelor degree of minimum 3-year duration in any specialization from any university or institute or
• Completed Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts/ Architecture, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard, from any recognized university or institute.

Note: Applicants holding citizenship of a country other than India are eligible to apply only under the overseas category, provided they fulfill all the eligibility criteria.

NID 2025 Application Registration Form

• Then Application Form of NID 2025 will open in a new window.
• After that fill in the required details such as Name, Parent’s Name, Age, Date of Birth, Educational details, and others.
• Further, upload your recent photo and signature in the required file size and format.
• Then make payment of the prescribed application fee either online or offline.
• Check all the filled-in details carefully and submit the form.
• Take the printout of the filled-in NID Online Form for further reference.

NID 2025 Application Admission Form Fee

Candidates have to pay the application fee for the final submission of the form. Make a payment of the requisite application fee either online or in offline mode. Do not wait for the last moment to pay the fee of NID 2025. If you want to pay the fee online then use Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking. Make a payment of the application fee offline through Demand Draft. The DD should be in favor of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at New Delhi.

NID Admit Card 2025

Candidates will need NID 2025 Admit Card in order to appear in the examination. The concerned authority will release NID Hall Ticket for eligible candidates only. The admit card of NID will available at www.nid.edu. For downloading the admit card, details such as Application/ Registration Number, Password etc. are important. Do not use incorrect details while downloading NID admit card 2025. No candidate will receive the admit card either through email or post. • After that enter the required information such as Application / Registration Number, Password etc.
• The admit card will appear on the screen in PDF format.

NID Entrance Exam Pattern 2025

Candidates who will apply for NID 2025 shall have to appear in the examination. The concerned authority will conduct  Design Aptitude Tests for Bachelor of Design (B.Des.),  Master of Design (M.Des.), and Graduate Diploma Programme in Design. It is important to have an idea of the NID Exam Pattern in order to score good marks. There will be two stages of the examination

1. Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims
2. Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Mains

NID Exam Pattern (Prelims) – B.Des. & GDPD

• DAT prelims paper is a 3-hour test.
• The language of the question paper will be English only.
• There will be 100 marks questions to evaluate the Design aptitude of a candidate.
• The question paper will have a mix of objective and subjective questions.

NID Exam Pattern (Mains) – B.Des. & GDPD

• The question paper will be of 100 Marks.
• The test will be conducted for 2 Days.
•  DAT mains will consist of tests in multiple formats such as a studio set up.
• The language of the question paper will be English only.

NID M.Des. Exam Pattern (Prelims)

Candidates of NID applying in only one discipline of M.Des Programme – DAT Prelims comprises of the CDAT [Common Design Aptitude Test] and domain-specific test of the faculty stream of the discipline selected by them. The time duration of prelim will two and a half hours.

For applicants applying in two disciplines of the M.Des Programme – The CDAT [Common Design Aptitude Test] and ONE domain-specific test if the two disciplines selected falls under the same Faculty Stream. The total duration of the DAT Prelim will be 2.5 hrs. OR The CDAT (Common Design Aptitude Test) and TWO domain-specific tests if the two disciplines selected fall under different Faculty Streams. The total duration of the DAT Prelim will be 4.5 hrs

NID M.Des. Exam Pattern (Mains)

NID DAT Mains for M.Des. programmes consist of two parts:

1. Studio Test: This may consist of tests in different formats. The questions will be of 100 Marks and the duration will be of three hours. The questions in the DAT Mains question paper will be in the English Language.
2. Interviews: The concerned authority will conduct interviews separately for each discipline, immediately after the Studio Test, and at the same center as the Studio Test.

NID 2025 Exam Centres

While filling the application form, candidates have to select a city for examination. Candidates will have to visit the Exam Centre of NID in order to sit for the examination. Do not forget to carry admit card because without admit card no candidate will get permission to enter inside the exam hall. NID Result 2025

The result of NID DAT of B.Des Prelims will release on the official website. The candidates have to qualify the examination so that they can get the call for appearing in the next stage. If a candidate wants to sit in Mains Exam then he or she has to qualify the Prelims Exam. After completion of the Mains Examination, the concerned authority will release a final common merit list. NID Prelims Result 2025, as well as NID 2025 Mains Result, will release at admission.nid.edu.

Tie Breaker Rule for NID Result 2025

1. The candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part B of the Design Aptitude Test – Prelims will get a higher rank.
2. If this does not break the tie, then the candidate who will score higher marks in Part A of the Design Aptitude Test- Prelims will get a higher rank.
3. If this still does not break the tie, then both the candidates will get the same rank.

Tie Breaker Rule for NID Final Merit List/Cut Off 2025

1. The candidate who has obtained higher marks in DAT Mains will get a higher rank.
2. If this does not break the tie, then the candidate who will score higher marks in the Stage 1 Design Aptitude Test will get a higher rank.
3. In case of the tie still does not break, then the candidate who will score higher marks in Stage 1 Design Aptitude Test Part B will get a higher rank.
4. If this does not break the tie, then the candidate who will score higher marks in Stage 1 Design Aptitude Test Part A will get a higher rank.
5. If this does not break the tie, then the candidate who will score higher marks in the question of the DAT Mains exam will get a higher rank.

NID 2025 Seat Allotment

The seat allotment of NID 2025 for B.Des., GDPD, M.Des., will take place in Ahmedabad. Candidates whose name will appear in the final merit list will get the call participating in NID Seat Allotment 2025 process. Make sure that you carry all the essential documents. If any candidate fails to report with the requisite documents then his/ her admission may get canceled.
