The JEE Main 2019 Application for the April session was released on 8th February and has ended on the 7th of March 2019. Candidates will be able to access their JEE Main 2019 Admit card on 20th March 2019 and the exam will be conducted from 7th to 20th April 2019. After the examination is over, the exam conducting body will be releasing statistics of how many students have applied and taken the JEE Main 2019 April exam.

JEE Main 2019 Registration has just closed and 9.65 lakh candidates have applied for JEE Main paper 1 January session 2019 despite class 12th board practical test going to be held at the same time.

Students have been left unaffected by class 12th board practical examinations boosting up the number of JEE Main 2019 applicants. The Joint Entrance Examination Main will be conducted in the month of January 2019 and all the engineering aspirants had to fill and submit the online application form from 1st – 30th September 2018.

Although the number of registered candidates for this year is 2.5 lakh less than the number of applicants for JEE Main 2018, this figure is comparatively high keeping in mind that exam will be conducted again in the month of April 2019 and that too in a completely computer-based mode.
Out of 9.65 lakh candidates, 6.85 Lakh students are male, 2.8 lakh are female and 38 are transgenders. According to the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, the increased number of JEE Main 2019 applicants has been a boost to their new plan to conduct the exam by a different body, twice in a year and in a computer-based mode.
The UGC NET 2019 registrations have also witnessed the same pattern where the exam despite being conducted as recently as in July 2018 and results being declared last month, there have been 9.96 lakh registrations for the December 2018 exam.
Increase in the number of JEE Main sign-ups for the year 2019 has come as a surprise for the HRD ministry. According to a senior official
“The number is much higher than anticipated. NTA was expecting 6 lakh registration for JEE Main paper 1”
JEE Main is regarded as one of the most reputed and challenging examinations conducted for engineering aspirants that will now be conducted twice in a year. Although the registration for the January exam has been closed, there will be another chance for the students to attempt in the April 2019 session, the application form for which will be made available on 8th February 2019.
