NERIST 2025:  North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology is a science and technology-oriented higher education institute in Arunachal Pradesh. It provides the base, diploma, and graduate degree in technology streams and a degree in forestry. The entrance exam is named as NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE). The students have to fill an online application form in order to take admission. NERIST conducts the exam for the selection of students at three Levels i.e NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III for the base, diploma, and graduate degrees. Whereas Forestry stream selection is done through NEE-II (PCB). It has various centers located in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura.

What Are The Three Levels of Examination?

NERIST conducts the entrance exam and on the basis of the exam, the merit list is prepared. The level mentioned by the NERIST is applicable as per the courses. Have a brief view of the NERIST level.

NEE-I = Entry is done after the 10th pass for the Base Module Course. The base module in the technology stream is of 2 years. Passing the Base Module Course the students will have the NERIST Certificate.

NEE-II = Entry after 12th Board with PCM for Diploma Module. This course has a two-year tenure and gets the NERIST Diploma Degree.

NEE-III = Entry after diploma in AE/ CE/ CS/ EC/ EE/ ME for Degree Courses. Students have a B.Tech degree on the completion of the course.

And for Forestry Stream, candidates can participate in the entrance exam after completing the 12th board with PCB ( Physics, Chemistry, Biology). Students get a B.Sc degree in forestry.

Eligibility Requirement for an Entry into NERIST 2025

In order to be part of NERIST, students have to go through the entrance test. The test is done on the basis of the subject and courses. The eligibility requirement as per the courses are :

NEE-I

Students appearing for this level have to complete the Matriculation or equivalent exam with Science and Mathematics. They must clear the Class X exam

Maximum Age Limits as of 31st July 2025 are 19 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 2003), 22 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 2000), and 24 years for ST/ SC/ PD (born on or after 1st August 1998).

NEE-II

Maximum Age Limits as of 31st July 2025 are 23 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 1999), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 1996), and 28 years for ST/ SC/ PD (born on or after 1st August 1994).

There are three types of courses available through this entrance test.

1. NEE-II (PCM): Candidates must have cleared the 12th board with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)

2. NEE-II ( Vocational ): Students must have passed 10+2 (Vocational)/ ITI/ NERIST Certificate in any one of the branches/ trades, viz., [Agricultural Engineering] Farm Equipment (FE)/ Food Processing (FP); [Civil Engineering] Construction Technology i.e. Draftsmanship/ Surveyor (CT); [Electronics and Communications Engineering] Electronics Technology or Electronics Maintenance (ET/EM); [Electrical Engineering] Electrical Technology or Electrical Maintenance (ET/EM); [Mechanical Engineering] Mechanical Craftsmanship (MC)/ Automobile Technology (AT) and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (R&AC) are eligible.

3. NEE-II ( PCB): Candidates must clear the 12th board or the equivalent exam with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

Maximum Age Limits as of 31st July 2025 are 23 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 1997), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 1994), and 28 years for ST/ SC/ PD (born on or after 1st August 1992).

Note: Students who are selected for NEE-II (PCM ) and NEE-II (Vocational) have the choice of the branch during counseling out of the six branches AE, CE, CSE, EE, ECE and ME on the basis of their merit and reservation category.

NEE-III

Students must have completed a 3-year Diploma course from any Government recognized Polytechnic/institution in the respective or allied discipline. The minimum marks requirement is 60%

Maximum Age Limits as of 31st July 2025 are 40 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 1982), 43 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 1979), and 45 years for ST/ SC/ PD (born on or after 1st August 1977).

How To Apply For NEE 2025?

For the NERIST Application Form, students have to look at the procedure online. Candidates must have the following things before filling the application form.

Steps To Fill NERIST NEE Application Form

  • First of all, students have to register themselves. They must register by visiting the official site of NERIST
  • An online application will be activated with the Email.ID and activation code. Code which is sent once the registration is done. The registration completion is sent into the mail and mobile no
  • Candidates have to select the program type and name. Before selecting the program, candidates must check the eligibility in terms of educational qualification and age criteria
  • Students have to confirm the eligibility criteria and the next web page will appear
  • Click on the “ Application details “ and the form will appear in front of the screen. Candidates need to fill the details asked in the form
  • Then they have to upload the Scanned Photograph, signature as specified above
  • Fill the Academic details
  • Choose the examination center preference
  • Once all the procedure is done, candidates must review the form and check whether the information filled is correct or not. If anything is detected then immediately do the correction. This is because once the final submission is done then no changes can be made.
  • Lastly, pay the application fee through Net banking/ Credit and Debit cards.

NEE Application Fees

Fees differ as per the category.

  • Candidates who belong to the reserved category will have to pay Rs 600 + payment gateway charges.
  • General candidates have to spend Rs 1000 as the application fee.

Exam Pattern For NERIST 2025

Students have to go through the entrance exam, merit list, and counselling procedure in order to take admission in the NERIST. So students must prepare well for the exam as per the given schedule. The exam will be consist of 150 marks. The segregation of marks is done as per the subject and courses. NERIST Admit Card 2025

NERIST Admit Card is the most important document to carry the exam. Students need to have the admit card along with them if they are going to write the exam. Failing to have the admit card, candidates won’t be allowed to have the exam. This is because the hall ticket is the identity of the candidates. It contains a multiple of information in it. Information such as Candidate name, photograph, signature, date of exam, centre name, roll no. etc are mentioned. Examiners check the NEE admit card before the commencement of the exam. If there is any kind of forgery in the exam ticket then the invigilator will reject the student from sitting into the exam.

NERIST Merit List 2025

Once the result is on the site or board, the merit list is prepared by the concerned authority. NERIST Counselling 2025

The name of the students who will get selected and are on the waiting list will be presented along with the day and time in the counselling.
