MAH B.Ed CET 2019:  MAH B.Ed CET is an undertaking by the Government of Maharashtra to facilitate admission of eligible candidates into the B.Ed programme at various institutes across the state of Maharashtra. The MAH B.Ed Common Entrance Test (CET) is held under the authority of State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET CELL). It is an online test held in selected cities across the state of Maharashtra. Candidates who seek admission into Colleges of English medium must also appear for the English Language Content Test  (ELCT CET) in addition to the B.Ed CET 2019.

Admission to B.Ed programme is solely be based on the merit of the candidate in the Entrance Test. It is advised that the candidates furnish all the information correctly during the time of application as they cannot be altered at a later stage and discrepancy in the information provided may lead to cancellation of candidature. Candidates who wish to take admission in the Two Year Full-Time Professional course in Education leading to Bachelor of Education in the Maharashtra state need to appear for this common entrance examination. As the admission of the candidates will be done as per their performance in the MAH B.Ed Common Entrance Test 2019.

Application Procedure For MAH B.ED CET 2019

The application for the MAH B.ED will be available online and no offline variant will be entertained. The candidate will need to visit the DHE’s website or CET CELL’s website.

For filling the Online Application Form, click on the option “APPLY ONLINE” which will open a new screen and follow the following steps:

Registration of Applicant

  • Click on the Tab “Click here for new registration” and enter Name, Contact details and E-mail ID.
  • Note down the provisional registration number and password that were generated on the screen. It was required for subsequent logins.
  • You were also be notified through your registered mobile number and E-mail about the provisional registration number and password.

Enter Personal and Educational Details

  • Enter your name, Father’s name, mother’s name and other information correctly as they appear on your official documents.
  • Validate you are filled in details and Save the filled in application by clicking the ‘Validate Your Details’ and ‘Save & Next’ button.
  • In case you cannot complete the application process at one go, you can log in later and continue. Hence, do not forget to save your entry after every step by clicking ‘Save and Next’.

Upload Scanned Copies of Photograph and Signature

  • Upload scanned copies of your recent photograph and signature in the formats and sizes given in the table below:

Pay the Application Fees

The category wise application fee that shall be paid online during the application process will be as follows:

The payment will be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS ( Immediate Payment Service through Mobile Phones/ Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallet).

Note: The Bank transaction charges for Online Payment of Application Fee/ Intimation Charges will have to be paid by the Candidate.

Submit the Application Form

  • Click on the “SUBMIT” button to submit the form.
  • use the “SAVE AND NEXT” option in order to verify the details you entered and modify them if required before Finally submitting the Form.

Eligibility Criteria For MAH B.ED CET 2019

Please go through the eligibility criteria given below and check if you’re eligible to apply for the B.ED programme. Note that candidates not meeting eligibility conditions will not to be considered for admission.

The Eligibility Criteria are broadly divided into two parts:

  1. Maharashtra State Candidates
  2. Other State Candidates

Eligibility Conditions of Maharashtra State Candidates

The candidate must be an Indian National and must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or any other degree recognized equivalent in any of the following streams:

  • Science
  • Mathematics
  • Social Science (History/Geography/Economics/Political Sciences/ Psychology/ Philosophy/ Education/Library Science)
  • Humanity sciences (including all Languages and Literature like- English, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Pali-Prakrut etc. studied as Optional/Special Subject at Graduation)
  • Commerce

With minimum 50% marks for Open Category Candidates or minimum 45% marks in case of Backward Class categories from State of Maharashtra belonging to SC, ST, VJ-DT NT-(A), NT1-(B), 5 NT-2-(C), NT-3-(D), OBC, and SBC

NOTE: 49.5% or above and 44.5% or above should be rounded off to 50% and 45% respectively.


The candidate must be an Indian National and must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or any degree considered equivalent in any of the following streams:

  • Engineering or Technology (Science and Mathematics as Special subjects)
  • Management / Engineering / Computers / Law/Information -Technology / Agriculture/ BBI / Medical Sciences /All Social Sciences excluding those mentioned above / Fine Art / Performing Art (Music/Dance / Drama etc.)

With minimum 55% marks for Open Category Candidates or minimum 50% marks in case of Backward Class categories from State of Maharashtra belonging to SC, ST, VJ-DT NT-(A), NT1-(B), 5 NT-2-(C), NT-3-(D), OBC, and SBC

NOTE: 54.5% or above and 49.5% or above should be rounded off to 55% and 50% respectively.


Candidates appearing in the final examination of Bachelor’s programme may also apply but they shall be considered for admission only on fulfilling the minimum eligibility marks on the declaration of their results.

Eligibility Conditions of Other State Candidates

  • The candidate should be an Indian national and should have a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree from any recognized university in any discipline considered equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks.
NOTE: All the candidates passing the qualifying exam from universities outside Maharashtra shall be considered in the Open category irrespective of their actual category.


  • Considering the above criteria, Candidates appearing in the final examination of Bachelor’s programme may also apply but they shall be considered for admission only on fulfilling the minimum eligibility marks on the declaration of their results.

MAH B.ED CET Admit Card 2019

MAH B.ED CET 2019 Admit Card shall be available for downloadIt will be very much required to bring Hall Ticket to the examination centre on the day of the exam. It should be noted that the absence of the Hall Ticket will prohibit the candidate from appearing for the entrance test.

It will be mandatory to appear on the online entrance test. No candidate will be allowed to appear in the test without the hall ticket.

The hall ticket will be available to download online on the official websites of DHE and CET cell. The candidates shall be informed about the availability of Hall ticket through their registered mobile number and E-mail ID upon release.

MAH Bed CET Admit Card will be available for download into the following steps:

  1. Visit the official website or and click on the link to download admit card.
  2. You will be required to use the following information for downloading the admit card:
    1. Registration Number/ Roll No
    2. Password/ Date of Birth in dd-mm-yy format

Exam Pattern And Syllabus For MAH B.ED CET 2019

MAH B.Ed CET 2019 will be conducted ONLINE at selected centres across Maharashtra. Your centre and session will be intimated to you through the Hall Ticket.

Important highlights of the online MAH B.Ed CET 2019 are:

  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Total MCQs: 100
  • Total Marks: 100

  • Language: English and Marathi

The question paper will be divided into three sections as follows:

Contents of the sections mentioned above: 

  • Mental Ability (40%): This section contains questions based on Series, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Relationship, Analogies, Classification, Problems on Dice, etc., either in Verbal or Non-Verbal form.
  • General Knowledge (30%): This section contains questions to test how well acquainted the candidate is with the happenings in the surroundings at Local, National, International Level including Past Events, Current Affairs, Science and Technology, History, Geography, Civics, Political Science and Literature in General.
  • Teacher Aptitude (30%): This section contains questions to test the ability of the candidate to become a teacher. It tested the keenness to update his/her knowledge, leadership qualities, awareness about changes in Education and Society, communication and Professional commitment etc.
NOTE: The candidates seeking admission in English Medium Colleges of Education will have to opt for English Language Content Test (ELCT CET) while filling in the form and confirm before submitting the form.

MAH B.ED CET Results 2019

The official conducting Authority for MAH B.Ed CET 2019 will publish a provisional merit list first. Candidates will be able to see their rank through the provisional merit list. However, the rank scored by the candidates in the final merit list will finally be considered by the authorities.   • Log on to the website
  • Look for the “Check CET Result” link on the website and click on it.
  • On the page that opens, enter your Registration/Roll number for MAH B.Ed CET 2019.
  • Click on the SUBMIT tab.

Admissions Procedure for MAH B.ED CET 2019

The Admissions to the B.Ed programme at various institutions in Maharashtra shall be done through a process called Centralized Admission Process (CAP) held under the authority of Commissioner, Common Entrance Test, Mumbai.

The Admission procedure shall be started in May 2019. Candidates are advised to keep visiting the official websites mentioned before so that they do not miss out on an update.

The Entire CAP shall include the following steps:

Invitation of Application

  1. All Candidates who had participated in the CET and has a Non-Zero Score in MAH-B.Ed. CET 2019 is required to fill the online application for CAP for the academic year 2019-20.
  2. The CAP registration form filling link for B.Ed. course shall be available on
  3. Click on ‘New Registration’ Button for filling the online application form. It is advised to Submit the form online after filling in/editing.

Preparation of Merit List

  1. All the eligible Candidates who have submitted Application Form for Admission through CAP shall be assigned a merit number.
  2. The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of CET Score and the collective of CET and ELCT (for English medium colleges).
  3. In case of a tie, the relative merit of Candidates shall be resolved in the following order of preference :
    1. Higher percentage of marks in Qualifying Examination
    2. Higher percentage of marks in aggregate at HSC or equivalent examination
    3. Higher percentage of marks in aggregate at SSC or equivalent examination;

The merit lists shall be available on the websites & upon release.

Filling The Option Form

  1. The candidates must Fill up and confirm the Online Option Form having preferences of Institutions before CAP Round I.
  2. Candidates may fill in choices of Institutes in decreasing order of their preference as specified by the Competent Authority.
  3. The options form once confirmed shall be considered for allotment in CAP Round I and II.
  4. The candidates are advised to study the college details and give options to the maximum colleges of their own choice only.

Provisional Allotment And Acceptance Fee

  1. The competent authority shall display the lists of allotment of seats for CAP Round I and II based on the choices filled by the candidates.
  2. The Seat Acceptance Fee shall be Rs. 3,000 for Candidates of General Category, VJ/DT, NT, SBC/OBC Category and Rs. 1,000 for SC, ST Category Candidates within the State of Maharashtra.
  3. It has to be paid through a demand draft in favour of the Admitted College as per the Instructions displayed on the Notice Board of the Admitted College.

‘Freeze’ OR ‘Float’ The Alotted Seat

The candidate can either ‘FREEZE’ or ‘FLOAT’ the seat allotted to him/her during the provisional allotment. The options are described below:

  1. FREEZE: Select this option if you are satisfied with the allotted institute and accept it by paying the full admission fee at the allotted institute. You can’t participate in the subsequent round of admissions.
  2. FLOAT: Select this option if you expect a seat at an institute of your higher preference in the subsequent rounds of admission. It shall not be available for candidates who are allotted institute of their First Choice.

Please note the following points regarding “freeze” and “float” options:

  1. Candidates will not have to exercise “Freeze” and “Float” options through their login.
  2. It will be taken care of automatically by the System.
  3. If a candidate who has been allotted their first choice, does not report at the institute within the given time, he/she shall be automatically considered for the CAP Round III.
  4. If a candidate wants to exercise FLOAT, he/she must report at the allotted institute and pay the acceptance fee or else they won’t be considered for the second round of CAP.


  1. The seats available for this round shall be published on the website.
  2. The Candidates are allowed to fill in or edit the already filled online option form. The CET qualified candidates who have not registered for CAP earlier will be able to register themselves now.
  3. Candidates who can participate in this round are:
  1. The candidate who has not been allotted any seat in any of the previous rounds.
  2. who did not participate (failure of filling option form) in the previous round.
  3. Those who have taken and cancelled their admission in the earlier rounds or rejected seats.
  4. Those who have to Freeze the admission by paying Seat Acceptance Fee in earlier rounds but are desirous of Floating in this final round.

Reporting and Confirmation of Admission

  1. After final CAP Round, the Candidate shall report to the institution finally allotted to him and confirm his admission to Institution. The institution will upload the admitted status of the candidate online.
  2. The candidate shall confirm the admission by paying the requisite amount of fee and by submitting required documents in original to respective institute, to which admission is granted as per schedule.
NOTE: If any seat remains vacant after CAP, it shall be filled according to the merit and by a candidate of the category whom the seat was earmarked for.

  • School Leaving Certificate, if required to substantiate the claim.
  • Domicile Certificate or Birth Certificate Mentioning place of Birth or School Leaving Certificate mentioning the place of birth.

In addition to the above documents, candidates are required to produce ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS depending upon the Category to which they belong.
