GE, OBC-NCL candidates had to submit a demand draft of Rs. 3100, and, SC, ST, PwD and Female candidates will have to submit a demand draft of Rs. 1800 at the examination centre allotted to them on the day of the examination.The drafts should be in favour of “Organizing Chairman JEE (Advanced)” payable at Kanpur”. No other documents need to be submitted by such candidates on the day of examination. These provisional partially registered candidates will receive a communication from the organizing Institute for uploading any required documents after the examination, but before June 5, 2018. All eligible partially registered candidates will be issued a provisional online admit card and will be allowed to appear in JEE(Advanced) 2018 on May 20th, 2018.

About JEE Advanced 2018 Engineering Entrance Exam

JEE Advanced 2018 was conducted by IIT Kanpur. The exam was conducted in computer-based online mode on May 20th, 2018 i.e Sunday. There were 2 papers in the examination and both are compulsory. Paper 1 was conducted in the first shift from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 was conducted in the second shift from 2 PM to 5 PM. 2,24,000 candidates were able to sit for JEE Advanced. There has been an addition of 4000 candidates as earlier only 2,20,000 eligible candidates could take the JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced 2018 Result

Results of JEE Advanced 2018 had been released by IIT Kanpur on the 10th  June 2018. Result were declared in the online mode on the official website only for those candidates who have taken the test. To view and download the result, candidates will have to log in to their account by entering their registered ID and password. After downloading, every candidate must take a print out of the Result and keep it safely for future references. Applicants can check the scores they have obtained in each subject as well as the total marks obtained by them in JEE Advanced 2018. The link to the result has been provided below.

Official Answer Key of JEE Advanced 2018

IIT Kanpur had released the Answer key for JEE Advanced 2018. Till the year 2017 the exam was conducted in offline mode and therefore the answer key was released by the exam conducting authority. For 2018, the answer key was released on 29th May 2018. With the help of an answer key, candidates can cross-check their marked responses and have an idea of the probable score that they will be obtaining in the exam.

The exam conducting authority will also send the OMR sheets of the candidates from 22nd – 25th May 2018. Both of these will be available online only.

JEE Advanced 2018 Eligibility Criteria

All candidates appearing in the exam must carefully read about JEE Advanced 2018 eligibility criteria. These criteria are based on certain parameters like age, the number of attempts, qualifying examination, etc. Aspirants must make sure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria and only then fill up the JEE Advanced 2018 Application Form.

JEE Advanced 2018 Eligibility Criteria are listed below:

  • Nationality – Candidate can be an Indian National (Including PIO/ OCI).
  • Age Limit – General category candidates must have been born on or after 1st October 1993, while the candidates belonging to the reserved categories of SC/ST/PwD will get a relaxation of 5 years.
  • Number of Attempts – Aspirants can take the JEE Advanced for a maximum of 2 times in consecutive years.
  • Qualifying Examination – Candidate must have passed the class 12th examination in 2017 or 2018.
  • Admission at IITs and ISM – Candidates who have earlier been admitted to IITs and ISM will not be able to take the JEE Advanced 2018.
  • All candidates must have qualified the JEE Main exam and should have been in top 2,24,000(including all categories) in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2018 to be able to take JEE Advanced 2018.
  • Foreign nationals are also eligible to apply.

JEE Advanced 2018 Registration / Application Form

The JEE Advanced 2018 Application form was released in the online mode on the official website on 2nd – 7th May 2018. IIT Kanpur had release the form for the exam on the JEE Advanced Portal. Candidates who are eligible had to first register themselves on the given portal. After this, applicants had to upload the required documents like Photograph and signature of the candidates and documents like certificate of class 10th and 12th, category/PwD certificate, Scribe request letter, PIO card/ OCI certificate, DS certificate. General category candidates will then have to pay an application fee of Rs 2,600+ GST. Reserved Category candidates (ST/SC/PwD/female candidates) will have to pay an amount of Rs.1300 + GST.

Those applicants, who had filled the application form late were charged an amount of Rs. 500 along with the requisite application fee. Deadline for late application fee is 8th May 2018 (5 pm). Payment of fees can be made by SBI Debit card/ Net banking or in cash using SBI Branch option. After completion, applicants had to take a print out of the confirmation page and keep it for future references.

JEE Advanced 2018 Exam Pattern

There has been a change in the mode in which JEE Advanced is being held. Until last year, JEE Advanced was being conducted in the offline pen and paper based mode. In the year 2018, the exam was conducted on 20th May 2018 in fully computer-based mode. Therefore, there were slight changes in the exam pattern of JEE Advanced 2018. All the applicants must have a clear view of the exam pattern, which usually consists of information like the marking scheme, number of papers, number of questions asked in the exam, subjects in each paper, etc.

  • JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted in the online (computer-based) mode.
  • It will consist of 2 papers: Paper 1 scheduled to be conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 scheduled to be conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM.
  • Both the papers are mandatory to attempt and will be conducted for 3 hours each.
  • The medium of the question paper will be English and Hindi.
  • Both the papers will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The Marking Scheme is expected to be like the one listed below:

  • Questions with 1 or more correct options – 4 marks will be awarded for all the correct answers, +1 for each correct answer and -2 for a wrong answer.
  • Single digit integer – 3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There is no negative marking.
  • Questions with a single correct answer – 3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer, 0 marks for not attempting and -1 for an incorrect answer.

JEE Advanced 2018 Mock Test

JEE Advanced 2018 Mock Test 1 was released December 19th, 2017. Mock Test 2 had been released on 31st January 2018. This is the first time that a mock test was being conducted for students considering the change made from offline mode of the exam to online mode of exam. The mock test was conducted to make the candidates familiar with the computer-based environment and to know the exam format. Previous years question papers are asked and can be taken in both English and Hindi. The mock test will be available for 180 minutes and questions from each subject will have a total of 80 marks. Candidates will also have the chance to navigate between sections, marks their answers for review and also save the responses.

Admit Card / Hall Ticket For JEE Advanced 2018

The Admit Card for JEE Advanced 2018 had been released online from 14th – 20th May 2018. Candidates who had successfully registered and filled the application form and paid the fees on time will be able to access the admit card. An admit card is one the most important document that a candidate must carry to the exam center. The absence of the hall ticket will stop him/her from taking the exam. Aspiring candidates will have to provide their user ID and password to be able to download the JEE Advanced 2018 Admit card. It will carry essential information like the name of the candidate, photograph of the candidate, exam center details, exam timings, question paper language, etc.

Rank List for JEE Advanced 2018

IIT Kanpur will release a Rank list after the results have been announced. The rank list will be released in the 3rd week of June 2018. The rank list will be based on the candidate’s performance in Paper 1 and Paper 2. In case there is a tie between 2 candidates in marks obtained by them, then the prescribed tie-breaking policy will be used.

JEE Advanced 2018 Cut-off List

A cut-off will be released by IIT Kanpur, which will state the minimum rank that a candidate must have obtained in the exam to be eligible for admission to IITs and ISM (Dhanbad). A cut-off can either be released in the form of lowest qualifying marks or in the form of an opening and closing rank. Candidates who score a rank that does not fall in between the opening and closing rank will not be eligible for admission.

JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling And Seat Allotment

Counselling and allotment of seats for JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted by JoSAA i.e. Joint Seat Allocation Authority in seven rounds for admission to IITs and ISM, Dhanbad. Counselling and Seat allotment will begin 19th June 2018 and will continue till 15th July July 2018. Qualified candidates will be granted admission based on their JEE Advanced 2018 score, the choices filled at the time of application form filling and registration for JoSAA counselling and seat allotment.

  1. What is the procedure for admition to NIT and IITs after qualifying JEE main?.weather a single application to JoSAA with options to various institutions is enough, or separate applications to various institutions to be submitted?. From which date such applications to be submitted?.
