JoSAA i.e. Joint Seat Allocation Authority will conduct the Counselling and allotment of seats for JEE Advanced 2018 in seven rounds for admission to IITs and ISM, Dhanbad. Counselling and Seat allotment will begin tentatively in the 3rd week of June 2018 and will continue till July 2018. Qualified candidates will be granted admission based on their JEE Advanced 2018 score, the choices filled at the time of application form filling and registration for JoSAA counselling and seat allotment.

Counselling and Seat Allotment for JEE Advanced will involve the following steps:

  • Online registration
  • Online Choice filling
  • Online seat allotment
  • Seat acceptance
  • Online fee payment to book provisional seat allotment
  • Reporting at the allocated centers for document verification

Counseling and Seat Allotment Procedure of JEE Advanced 2018

  1. Online Registration
    1. Go to the official website.
    2. Enter your JEE Advanced 2018 Roll Number (same as that given on the Admit Card), registration number, date of birth and new password.
    3. Click on Confirm Password.
    4. Save the registration number and new password.
  2. Online Choice Filling
    1. During this process, log in to your account using User ID, roll number, and password.
    2. Fill in the choice of branch and programme preference-wise.
    3. Before final locking, candidates can change the order of their choices or edit the choices.
    4. Lock the choices before the last date. In case a candidate does not lock the choices, the choices made by him/her will automatically be locked.
    5. Counselling and Seat Allotment will be based on the applicants All India Rank.
  3. Online Seat Allotment
    1. After choice filling, candidates will be allotted seats for admission to IITs.
    2. To check the seat allotted, the candidate will have to log in by entering his/her user ID, password, and JEE Advanced 2018 roll number.
  4. Seat acceptance
    • The online seat allotment will require the reserved category candidates to get their category certificate verified.
  5. Online fee payment to book provisional seat allotment
    • To freeze the allotted seat, candidates must pay the fee online.
  6. Reporting at the allocated centers for document verification
    • To claim the seats, Candidates will have to report to the allotted institute with the prescribed documents.

  1. JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment letter from JoSAA portal
  2. JEE Advanced 2017 Original Admit card
  3. JEE Advanced 2018 Application Form
  4. Medical Examination Report
  5. Class 10th Certificate and certificate of passing
  6. Category certificate
  7. For foreign candidates – Attested photocopy of the page of passport with name, photo and nationality of the candidate.

Apart from the 22 IITs and ISM Dhanbad that participate in JEE Advanced 2018, there are institutes that give admission in their respective college/institute based on the score obtained by the candidate in the JEE Advanced 2018 exam.
