Replacing the previously conducted 2 major entrance examinations (AIEEE and IIT-JEE) for engineering institutes across India, JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main and JEE Advanced have become a more specific kind of engineering entrance examination for admission to IIITs, NITs, CFTIs, IITs and various other institutes.
Government run CBSE is in charge of administering JEE, from releasing notification to the announcement of results. JEE is divided into 2 exams – JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is taken by students who wish to take up engineering or architecture in institutes like IIITs, NITs, GFTIs and other private institutes. To take admission in IITs, every candidate has to first qualify JEE Main and only the top 2-3 lakh candidates will he be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced which is the only entrance exam for admission to Indian Institute of Technology.
Recent updates from the CBSE is that the JEE Main 2018 offline mode will be conducted on 8th April 2018. JEE Main 2018 online mode will be conducted on 15th and 16th April 2018. The online application forms for the same will be released in the 1st week of December 2018.
Before giving any entrance examination, students must necessarily go through the exam’s official brochure, dates of filling and submitting the application, the exam pattern and its syllabus.
