IPU CET Cut-Off 2018 Important Points

  1. IPU CET 2018 cut-off for B-Tech has been released online on 1st July 2018  after the declaration of the result.
  2. Candidate can check the cut-off marks by visiting the official website www.ipu.ac.in. The cutoff of IPU CET 2018 will comprise of the opening and closing ranks. GGSIPU, the official body will release the IPU CET 2018 cutoff for different rounds.
  3. The opening and closing ranks are different for each category as well. The IPU CET cutoff includes the minimum and maximum closing ranks for candidates who belong to the Delhi region and those who are from outside the Delhi region.
  4. Candidates whose rank fall within the given cutoff rank are eligible for admission into various engineering courses offered by the university and institutes affiliated with GGSIPU.
  5. The cut-off will set by the examination authority to select the candidates who will be called for the counselling procedure. There are some factors which are taken into account while determining the cut-off and they are as follows:-
    • The difficulty level of the question paper of IPU CET 2018 entrance exam.
    • Availability of seats in various institutes open for admission
    • Total Number of Candidates appeared in the examination
    • Marking Scheme
    • Last Year Cut-Off
    • The maximum percentage of marks scored by the candidates

IPU CET 2018 Cut-Off Key Points

  • The Participating Institutes of IPU CET 2018 will publish their individual cut-off for admission into its various B Tech Programmes.
  • A separate merit list will also be published indicating the names of the candidates who have qualified the entrance test and have met the minimum cutoff marks.
  • Only those candidates who have secured the prescribed cut-off rank are shortlisted for admission
  • Shortlisted candidates have to participate in the counselling and undergo all the steps required to get admission in the institutes.

IPU CET 2018 Seat Reservation

Through IPU CET exam, students are offered admissions to 5,260 B-Tech seats in 81 affiliated private institutes and 690 BTech seats in 35 affiliated government institutes. The GGSIPU reserves a definite number of seats in every college for the candidates belonging to special categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Physically Disabled and Defence Category.

Candidates have to mention their category while filling the application form of IPU CET 2018. Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents in the prescribed format at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of IPU CET reserved seats. 3Self-Financing Institutes/ Colleges in NCT of Delhi

Important Points

  • The candidate seeking admission under reserved categories will have to produce the caste/ category certificate in his/her name at the time of counselling.
  • The certificate in name of either of the parent (Mother/Father) is not acceptable and the candidate shall not be entitled / eligible for admission to reserved seats.
  • The reservation certificate should be issued from the respective state/region in which the reservation is claimed.
  • 10% of the total seats (as per CET Code) will be allocated as management quota (unless surrendered by the college/institute) seats as per policy of Govt. of NCT of Delhi in self-financing institutions
  • However, there will be no management quota in university schools of studies and government institutions

Other Backward Castes

  • 27% seats are reserved for Delhi OBC Category belonging to the list of OBC castes in Delhi. The reservation will be available only in the University Schools of Studies and other Government Institutions.
  • Students will be admitted in this category on the submission of a certificate to this effect from the competent authority of the government of NCT of Delhi. Certificate issued by Govt. of India will not be accepted under any circumstances. The reservation for OBC category is only for candidates who are from Delhi Region.
  • Minority Institutions
  • Some of the self – financing institutions affiliated to the IP University have a minority status. For the specific Minority Institutions, the mode of admissions shall be notified subsequently by the University.

Jammu & Kashmir Migrants

  • One seat, which will be supernumerary in nature is reserved for Kashmiri migrants in each Institution. Admission will be based on merit through IPU CET 2018 exam. A certificate of competent authority for availing admission against Kashmiri Migrant Quota is to be produced by the candidates at the time of counselling/ admission.
  • Since the seats of Kashmiri Migrant Quota are supernumerary, they will not be converted at all in any other category in case they remain unfilled.

De-reservation of unfilled Outside Delhi Quota Seats to Delhi Quota and Vice Versa:

  • Seats reserved for Outside Delhi Category will be converted to Delhi Category and Vice versa for the Programmes for which IPU CET 2018 offline counselling will be done during the Open House Counselling (Open House Counselling will only be held if seats are vacant after 2nd round of counselling has been completed in the respective region).
  • It is clarified that no such conversion will be allowed during 1st counselling. Instructions for the Programme for which IPU CET 2018 online counselling is done. However, final decision regarding seat allocation will be taken by the University for the academic session 2018-19 and the same will be announced on the University’s Website

In case of Self Financing Colleges/Institutes (except Minority Institutions)

  • Sanctioned Intake includes 10% Management Quota (unless surrendered by the respective College/ Institute) seats (as per the CET Code). However, in case of University Schools of Study and Govt. Institutes there will be No Management Quota.

Reservation Criteria for B-Tech

Note: If fail to provide the proof of their study centers being located in Delhi shall not be considered for Delhi region Seats then such candidates shall be considered for admission in the Outside Delhi Region.

 

 15% seats are reserved for Outside Delhi Region Candidates: These seats will be filled up through the merit/rank list of the CET Code.Candidates who have passed their qualifying exams from any Institute/ College/ School located outside Delhi.

2)Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination through distance/open mode from any recognized University/ Institute/ School and had their study centers outside Delhi will be considered as outside Delhi region.

But it is the responsibility of the candidates to provide the proof of their education centers outside Delhi.

 

2Colleges/Institutes located outside NCT of Delhi but within NCRThese seats will be filled up through the merit /rank list.The seats shall be allocated as per the policy of the University, in consonance with the policy of the Government of NCT of Delhi, at the time of notification for IPU CET 2018 counselling in the specific CET code.
3Minority InstitutionsThe seats shall be allocated as per the policy of the university at the time of notification for IPU CET 2018 counselling in the specific CET code.
