Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET/ Goa CET) is organized and conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Authority of Goa. GCET is a state level entrance exam. The official admission committee has released the dates of the counselling procedure for GCET 2018. The update has been made in the “important dates” section of this article. Read below

Directorate of Technical Education has announced that the Candidates have to download and take a printout of the application form(A) which has been made available on the official website in March 2018. Forms could be submitted from 2nd – 7th April 2018. The offline (pen-paper based) mode of the exam was held on 8th and 9th May 2018. For admission to Medical and Dental courses candidates had to appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – 2018 conducted by CBSE. For admission to Architecture, course candidates have to appear for  NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

GCET 2018 Result

GCET 2018 Exams Result had been announced on 15th May 2018. Candidates who had taken the examination could check their results via online mode through the website. No offline individual score card was issued to Candidates. On the basis of the result, the merit list was prepared for providing admission. Eligibility Criteria for GCET 2018

Candidates must fulfill all the Eligibility Criteria before filling up the GCET 2018 Application Form

Educational qualifications

3.BHMS & AHSCandidates need to pass the 10+2 of Goa Board or its equivalent examination with English along with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as core subjects. They must clear the qualifying examination with minimum 50% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST and OBC category).
4.B. Sc NursingApplicants should clear the HSSC or 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English obtaining not less than 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates from SC/ST/OBC category)

GCET 2018 Registration / Application Form

Coming to the most crucial part of the exam where most of the student commit mistakes, application/registration forms play an important role in the process of acquiring a seat in college. All candidates must have a clear look at the brochure before filling in the form of GCET. The application form of GCET has to be submitted only in the offline mode. Candidates must verify that they fulfill the eligibility criteria of GCET 2018 before filling the application form.

Step by step procedure to fill and submit GCET Application Form 2018

  1. The GCET 2018 application form was available for download and could be submitted from 2nd – 7th April 2018.
  2. Download the application form (A) from link http://www.dtegoa.gov.in and take a printout of the same.
  3. Candidates are required to fill all details in their application form carefully..
  4. Paste recent passport size photograph on the application form.
  5. Attach all the required documents like (Demand Draft) DD, qualifying exam certificates with the application form.
  6. Candidates have to submit the application form at the notified locations (as per centre opted) on specified dates, along with self-attested copies of required documents.

GCET 2018 Application Fee:

  1. The application fee of GCET 2018 was Rs.1500/-.
  2. Candidates have to submit the application fee by making Demand Draft.
  3. The late fee of Rs 1000 will be charged if the candidate fills the form after the last date of submission of application form.
  4. The demand draft should be made in favor of “Director of Technical Education” payable at Panaji from any scheduled bank.

Reservation of Seats for GCET 2018

Reservation of seats is made in favor of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward classes, physically disabled etc in GCET 2018. Candidates will have to choose their category while filling the GCET 2018 application form. Candidates claiming reservation are required to submit documents such as valid certificates as proof in the original forms during document verification at the time of admission & counselling procedure.

GCET Exam Pattern 2018

Candidates are advised to understand the GCET 2018 Exam Pattern so as to plan a proper strategy in their preparation for the GCET 2018. Following are the details of GCET exam pattern 2018-

GCET 2018 Exam Centre

GCET 2018 was held at various centers across Goa state. Candidates had to fill in their choices for the exam centers at the time of filling the GCET 2018 application form. Exams centre must be selected by candidates in order of their preference. Each GCET exam center had a code allotted to it. The candidate had to fill in the particular code which is assigned to the chosen exam center while filling up the application form.

GCET 2018 Admit Card / Hall Ticket

Admit Card of GCET 2018 was issued to candidates in person only after the successful application submission in offline mode. GCET 2018 admit card was issued from today i.e 7th April 2018. Candidates who had successfully completed the offline registration process were issued the GCET 2018 Hall Tickets. The GCET 2018 admit card contained important information such as name of the candidate, address of exam centre, exam date and time and exam day guidelines.

A Candidate who has qualified the GCET 2018 exam gets enrolled in the colleges of Goa to complete their undergraduate courses of their preferred choice. GCET 2018 Counselling

The Counselling of GCET 2018 will be conducted in offline mode and the registration for the same has started from 17th May 2018. Also, counselling was held for only those candidates who had been shortlisted based on marks obtained in GCET 2018 Exam. Shortlisted Candidates will have to fill Form (B) to participate in counselling process. Two rounds of counselling will be held initially, additional rounds will be followed if required. Candidates are required to bring along originals of all relevant documents and photocopies for verification to the counselling venue. The admission conducting authority will announce the schedule for counselling for various rounds based on the merit rank of the candidate. Candidates who are placed higher in the merit list of GCET 2018 will be given preference during seat allotment.

GCET 2018 Cut Off

After few days of the publication of GCET 2018 Result, DTE will upload the cut-off marks at their official website. Cut-off marks vary for different courses and colleges. Candidates have to score above or equal to the cut-off marks to qualify for Goa common entrance test. Candidate will get admission on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in entrance test.  Cut- off marks of GCET exams depend on factors like the number of applicants, the number of vacant seats etc. To have a idea of cut-off marks, candidates are advised to check the previous year’s cut-off marks. This will give you an idea to score and also college selection of your choice.

GCET 2018 Sample Paper

Candidates preparing for GCET 2018 are advised to practice the question papers of previous years so that they can analyze and keep a track of their preparation level. Answer Key for GCET 2018

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa, had released the GCET 2018 answer key online on 15th May 2018. The state level engineering entrance test was held in offline mode on 8th and 9th May, 2018. GCET 2018 answer key was available for candidates as per different paper codes, therefore, they had to check the answer key of the corresponding paper they have appeared in. The GCET answer key helped candidates to calculate their probable score in the exam.

GCET 2018 Seat Allotment

Applicant’s admission depends on the merit list. For admissions, applicants must apply, fill and submit the form(B) at DTE, Goa or other shortlisted centers and get the Acknowledgement card in form of Registration Number as a proof of submission. Nominated applicants must visit the Admission Centre at official address with admit card, fees and other required documents. Admission of Applicants in Architecture degree programme will depend on NATA result/score and candidates seeking admission to medical and dental courses programme will depend on NEET score.
