Admission Committee for Professional Medical Educational Courses (ACPMEC) conducts the online counselling process for admission to undergraduate MBBS programme in the colleges of state Gujarat. It does not conduct any entrance exam. The counselling and admission procedure is conducted based on NEET UG exam score. In order to participate in the counselling process, candidates must attend NEET 2018 Exam.

Division of Seats

The NEET 2018 qualified candidates are required to fill in the application form and have to pay the registration fee in order to participate in the counselling procedure. The official authority conducts counselling for 85% state quota seats only. However, admissions to remaining 15% seats will be filled on all India quota basis and counselling will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) separately.

Important Dates and Updates related to Gujarat MBBS Admission via NEET 2018

The dates of the important events related to Gujarat MBBS 2018 is scheduled to release after the declaration of NEET UG Results 2018. The NEET UG Results 2018 is going to release on 5th June 2018 in online mode. Candidates need to fill up the application form to participate in the counselling cum admission process. The official counselling conducting authority has not released any date of the events of Gujarat MBBS Admission 2018 till date. It is expected to be announced after NEET exam 2018 result is declared. The tentative dates for all the activities are provided in the table below:

Gujarat MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2018

The candidates who want to participate in the counselling and admission process of Gujarat MBBS Admission 2018, they must possess the below-mentioned eligibility conditions. The applicants must go through the below eligibility criteria before going to fill up the application form for Admission 2018

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India and resident of Gujarat. Those candidates who stay outside Gujarat for certain purposes, but are actually residents of Gujarat are also eligible.
  • NRI (Non -Resident of India) can also apply for the admission but they need to possess the below given criteria.
2AgeCandidate must have born on or after 31st December 2001. The candidate must have attained minimum 17 years of age at the time of admission.
3Academic QualificationCandidates must have passed the class 10 and 12 qualifying exam with “group B” or “AB-group” form any one of the below mentioned board:

  1. Gujarat board
  2. School affiliated to CBSE board located in the state Gujarat.
  3. School affiliated to ICSE board located in the state Gujarat.

Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying 10+2 examination.

  • 45 % for General PH candidates
  • 40% for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), SEBC including physically disabled categories.

Gujarat MBBS Application form 2018

The application form for Gujarat MBBS Admission for the academic year 2018-19 is likely to be released online in the 2nd week of June 2018. The last date to fill up the application form along with the fee is 3rd week of July 2018. Aspirants must read the above-mentioned eligibility criteria carefully before going to fill up the application form.

To fill in the Gujarat MBBS application form, follow the steps given below:-

  1. Go to the official website http://www.medadmgujarat.org
  2. Click on “undergraduate medical admission” option.
  3. Now, click on “MBBS Admission 2018”
  4. Create a “login ID” and “password” by registering yourself.
  5. Fill in the application form by entering the personal details and academic qualification.
  6. Payment of application fee.
  7. Download the application form and take the printout of the same for future use.

Gujarat MBBS Merit list 2018

The official counselling authority determines and prepares the merit list. Merit list of Gujarat MBBS Admission 2018 is expected to be published in the 3rd week of July 2018. Gujarat MBBS Merit list will contains names of the candidates eligible to participate in the counselling round. Merit list is prepared on all India basis by considering the following factors:-

  • Number of applicants applied for MBBS programme
  • Seat availability
  • Marks and Rank obtained in the NEET 2018 exam.

www.medadmgujarat.org 2018 Counselling is done based on the rank obtained in the merit list. If the registered candidate does not find his/her name on the merit list, then they are not eligible for the admission.

Gujarat MBBS Counselling and Seat Allotment 2018

Based on the preference of college and marks obtained in NEET exam, applicants will be allotted seats in the Institute. If a candidate finds his/her name in the merit list, then they should report at the counselling venue. After merit declaration, choice filling will be initiated online for each round. First round of choice filling will be Mock round, based on analysis given candidate should modify their
choices or add more choices for actual rounds, if required.

After the choice filling period is over, the ACPUGMEC will process for allotment of seats and
declare the status of allotment on the website. The candidates can view their status of
allotment by login to their own User ID. The candidate has to pay by cash/DD the requisite amount of tuition fee at any of designated branches of Axis Bank or through online payment within the time limit specified by the ACPUGMEC.

If the candidate successfully allotted a seat in the college, then he/she should physically report to the college along with the necessary documents within scheduled date and time. Candidates have to pay the academic fee in order to confirm their seats. If any candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotment, then he/she can opt to sit for next round of counselling.

Seat Reservation in Gujarat MBBS 2018

The government of state Gujarat reserves a 15% of the seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories in all the participating colleges. Reserved category here indicates the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) etc.

Applicants must choose their category from the list while filling up the application form for counselling. Students claiming reservation are required to produce valid supporting documents in the prescribed annexure (available in the official brochure) at the time of counselling in order to avail the benefit of reserved seats, failing which the category claimed will not be granted.  To know about the percent of seats reserved for each category, refer the table given below:-
